I've had the pleasure of buying my 2023 Kia Telluride SX-Prestige at Yonkers Kia working with Mr. Ramon Mendoza who's the kind of person you want to work with when buying a car in a hot Dealers' market. Now, I've been eyeing the Telluride since its debut and by the time I spoke to Ramon, I have been researching 100-mile radius for about 3 months and test drove half a dozen times, all to find the particular trim I want (SX-Prestige) and at the right price, knowing there's a supply shortage driving the price of the Telluride way up. One unscrupulous dealer in NJ dared to tell me they're charging $10,000 markup ... I kid you not. (must be some good stuff they've been smoking...) But Ramon was straight forward with me - he offered reasonable mark-up given the supply & demand economics of the vehicle and at that specific trim level which was seriously rare to say the least, and when presented with copious amount of comparison data I had, we were able to agree on the price, and one that wasn't too different from his initial offer since he had put forth a good price to begin with. The whole process was smooth - Before signing the contract I saw that there was some discrepancy in the non-car fees from the print out he had shown me, so Ramon quickly spoke to his manager to get it fixed and took us to Jose the finance manager. Jose worked with us to use our pre-approved car loan from the bank after trying the Kia loan route (ours was lower) and it was all done. Unfortunately, when we drove it home, I noticed a long streak that's about a foot long right under the driver side door handle which wasn't visible because we had picked it up after dark, so I immediately took a video/photo and informed Ramon. Long story short, I brought it in, he sent it to car wash and turned out it was just some smear, and he agreed to get me an accessory for free when I pointed out the time lost having to come out to NY again. (I live in NJ) So that was my second visit, then on the third, I got the accessory & he personally installed my NJ plate for me and I drove off happy & a satisfied customer. Ramon is professional, honest, and dependable - you'd be lucky to work with him and the team at Yonkers Kia. I'll be referring people his way! Thank you Ramon! P.S. Ask him about the Mendoza discount :P

On February 7th, 2026, I purchased a used 2024 KIA FORTE GT from Yonkers Auto Gallery. The car had only 19,000 miles on it, and I thought I was making a smart choice for my family. Unfortunately, just a week later, the car broke down on Route 9 and had to be towed because it wouldn't go more than 10 miles an hour. The check engine light came on, and it was diagnosed with a gas pedal malfunction. When Dutchess KIA did a deeper diagnostic, they found the car flooded when it rained, chewed wires throughout, and even dead mice inside. The wire harness and all the wiring need to be replaced, and the computer system shorted out twice. On top of this, I recently lost my parents and have taken on the responsibility of their home and everything that comes with it. The emotional and financial weight of managing their estate while dealing with this car nightmare has been almost too much to bear. This whole experience has been a nightmare. I've contacted the BBB, attorney general's office, DMV, and lemon law lawyers, but I'm still waiting for answers. This situation has already cost us thousands of dollars, and we're struggling to keep up. I've missed important calls about this matter because of my work schedule, and my husband lost work because we had no car. We even had to take out another loan just so he could start working again. In the meantime, I lost my job as a preschool teacher of 23 years due to the mental and emotional stress this has caused. Saying goodbye to my second home and dealing with the loss of my parents has made things even harder. Knowing that a dealership can get away with something like this is heartbreaking.

Summary / TLDR: I was anxious buying a used car not CPO but the experience was smooth. Would…read morerecommend Daniel Auto to friends & family. Started my car search two weeks ago with two constraints that made it very stressful. I was looking for an Acura MDX hybrid (very low inventory out there) and a tight timeline to get it done before the end of the year. Made a spreadsheet of every MDX hybrid I could find online and there were less than half a dozen within reasonable driving distance (200 miles) of NYC. Based on this info I started engaging with Daniel Auto since they were number one on the list based on price/value and color but they were up against an Acura dealership in RI that offered certified pre-owned and two other strong value options. I had never purchased a used car not certified pre-owned by the car manufacturer so had a little anxiety not going with Acura CPO. Communication online / via text was easy and I made an appointment for a test drive. A little surprised at the small office and packed lot when I showed up... I've always only been to higher end brand dealerships who spend a lot on the visual experience. The office (and bathroom) was clean and organized, and when I thought about it, I much prefer that they save money on unnecessary frills, especially if they're offering solid/good pricing. The test drive was fine; John was very pleasant and left me alone to inspect the car afterwards. The price was the price, no hidden fees and no nonsense that I've experienced from some dealerships to push you towards financing to show you a lower monthly while raising the price or adding fees. I settled with Daniel on a price; don't expect there to be much movement if any. Having done online research before, the pricing was solid/fair. They had financing available, but I decided to pay cash. A little bit anxious as I'd never done a cash purchase before but everything went smoothly: Put a small deposit down using a debit card, signed a bill of sale, went home and wired the rest of the money, came back in a few days with my wife to pick up the car. Yesterday, I took it to my long time Acura dealership I've used for many years on my previous non-hybrid MDX. Needed to correct a fuel pump safety recall and had them inspect everything, with special focus on suspension and transmission. Everything came back clean, including alignment and little things like cabin air filters. Feeling pretty good about both the hybrid MDX and purchasing it from Daniel Auto. Oh, and I got confused about wheel locks (this car didn't have any) earlier in the week and they (both Ron & Daniel) were just as fast responding on text and calling post sale as pre sale. I would shop with them again and recommend to friends & family.

The finance guy who we dealt with - I believe his name is Joelle was a very condescending person. He was sarcastic and basically rushed us out of there. The car was for my son and his girlfriend and from the start they told Joelle and Leif that they wanted to keep their payments at $200... the most about $210. So when my son told them that he got a rate of 15% from Capital One Auto, this guy Joelle said that he got him a better rate of about 8%. They put down $8000 and the payment came out to be $301. How is this possible? Oh he said he included an extended warranty. So when I got my husband on the phone, he called him out and said that he was charging him almost $4000 for an extended warranty? Once he did that, he started getting sarcastic and said that he was doing them a service and got their interest rate down. The payment was still not at $200 so without the extended warranty their payment was $237. They asked this guy Joelle if they can put more money down and he said no because he would need to get it approved and the interest rate might even change since it would have to be structured again. NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING! Then he told us that he was on a time constraint because other people were waiting. I WOULD NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THIS DEALERSHIP SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE OF THIS GUY! That's not just bad business, that's deliberate deception. It's borderline fraud. Alberto's sales tactics were laughable--amateurish, manipulative, and clearly targeting anyone he thought he could fool. Unfortunately for him, I'm a grown woman, a mother, and someone who's seen enough of life to spot a con-artist from a mile away. I wasn't born yesterday, and I definitely don't fall for high-mileage lies dressed up in cheap cologne. His explanations for the numbers on the car were ridiculously absurd, it made no sense at all, I felt like talking to a 4 years old toddler trying to explain physics to me, the little guy was shaking as he was desperately trying to convince me to accept his scam. To make matters worse, there was a man outside the entrance screaming and spitting, smoking like a chimney, acting recklessly with weird manners, ticking, and wearing a horrible outfit making the entire environment feel unsafe and unprofessional. This is supposed to be a place of business, not a circus sideshow. The dealership may have decent-looking cars, but it's staffed with reckless individuals who operate with no accountability. This Alberto guy is a walking Joke!
