No consideration or care, plus I got jipped. 3 pieces is considered a full roll now? Never again. Now the food... bland. The sushi rice barely had any flavor. The half of the Chicken Tempura Chicken Roll I was given, but paid full price for, had no seasoning. The chicken needed salt and the avocado did not taste like avocado. The tempura tasted like old grease. Maybe the good flavor was left in the other half of the roll that's still at the restaurant ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My husband didn't even finish his Yellowtail Jalapeño roll or his Shrimp Tempura. Like I said, never again. I should've gone to the mall food court for sushi, smh.

This place is so good! I got the fire cracker. I am BLOWN AWAY. The absolute best thing I've ever eaten. 10/10! I would ask for this as my last meal. The Rangoons were also so good. I couldn't recommend this place enough! Service was also very fast. COME HERE!!

The 3 rolls I ordered were enjoyable but most of the avocado wasn't quite as ripe as it could have been and the sheer size of the pieces in the special roll made it difficult to eat.

Ordered takeout, $43 for 3 rolls + complimentary California roll. Still haven't dined in yet, and as of now, they're only doing takeout and delivery. My favorite roll is the Godzilla roll. Deep-fried spicy tuna goodness. The rainbow roll was also pretty good too, fish was fresh and the roll was prepared nicely. The firecracker roll, however, wasn't that impressive as well as the California roll. I like how they give a good amount of wasabi & ginger for every roll, even in a takeout order. I ordered online and waited 20 - 30 minutes to pick up my order which seemed reasonably quick considering the day. A little pricey compared to other sushi spots but still very filling and worth a try because of it's convenience.

Well, they've done it. Earned 5 stars! My last 2 orders, they hit it out of the park. EVERYTHING was amazing. I wrote a really long detailed review but it exceeded the character limit so here's a shortened version with bullet points. *The salmon nigiri and sashimi were the BEST I'VE EVER HAD. And I've had a lot. No exaggeration. It was melt in your mouth amazing with a texture like otoro (fatty tuna belly) and the taste was perfection as well and it was fresh as could possibly be. Zero fishy smell/taste which can be an issue with salmon. Seriously I have never had salmon this good and I am addicted to it now. I ordered more the next day immediately. If I was rich, I'd live off this stuff and order it every single day. It is seriously that good. Mind blowingly good. My only tiny critique with the sashimi version is I just wish they cut it into several thin slices. Instead, you get one big block of delicious, melt in your mouth buttery tender salmon. Their tuna sashimi was the same so I guess this is a stylistic choice. I ended up just cutting it myself, but I definitely didn't do anywhere as good of a job as a sushi chef would. It's not a huge deal and it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the salmon, but it would just be nice to have it cut the same way the nigiri is. It would be more of an issue with a less tender fish than the salmon too. *salmon tartare-the tuna tartare was already one of my absolute top favorite dishes here and the salmon tartare is the same except even better because it has that orgasmic salmon! *white tuna nigiri-delicious, buttery, tender, almost as much as the salmon. I believe it is probably escolar (usually that's what white tuna means) which would explain the nice fatty buttery texture. Will definitely order this again and prefer it to the maguro *orange tobiko sushi-finally the tobiko I wanted! I thought all tobiko was the same, silly me. The orange tobiko is noticeably smaller than the black or green, and also much sweet, more delicate, and less briny. I thought their black and green tobiko weren't up to par on freshness but I was so wrong, it was just a different variety than what I was used to and looking for. The orange tobiko is perfection and was totally delicious. *eel (unagi) nigiri-most tender eel I've ever had! Melted in my mouth, no graininess as some eel can have. The eel sauce was just right too, not too sweet, and not too much of it, but just enough. *tom yum goong-absolutely delicious!! My first time trying a tom yum soup but it certainly won't be my last. They were pretty generous with the seafood in it given the price, and as always, the seafood was top notch. Big, fresh, juicy shrimp and fresh, ultra tender clams. The broth itself was also beyond delicious and just the right level of spicy (though personally if they had an extra spicy version I would definitely be interested in trying that too!). Now that I know how to order from here, I just have to give them 5 stars. I would advise to stay away from the fried food and fusion rolls, and stick to the more traditional raw fish and seafood based dishes. That is where they excel and I'm honestly so glad because there's way too much fusion/westernized cuisine here and not nearly enough authentic. I'm sick of complicated rolls, I just want fresh, quality sashimi and nigiri where the fish/seafood is the star and I can actually taste it, and Yoo sushi delivers! Yoo sushi-you have become my favorite sushi place to order from in providence! I can't wait to try more!

Spicy Crunch Tuna Roll, Spicy Crunch Crabmeat Roll, Avocado Salmon Roll, and Eel Avocado Roll
    Waylon J.

Ordered Yoo Sushi to-go, and I was really pleasantly surprised with the order. The rolls have a fresh taste, and they're also packed with filling. Sushi rice had a nice tartness and although it wasn't Japan level sushi, it was tasty for a New England joint. We ordered around 8 rolls (ranging from spicy crunchy tuna to avocado salmon) and were definitely full by the end of it. Will definitely drop by next time I'm in the Elmhurst/Smith Hill area of Providence.

    Lunch special
    Brian G.

I would have never stopped at Yoo for lunch had I not seen the good reviews here on yelp. The thought of raw fish combined with it being not the best neighborhood was intimidating. So, thank you yelpers! I had the lunch special at the suggestion of the very pleasant server. I sat at the "bar" and the chef made me a free app that was basically seaweed salad inside of sliced avocado with a tobiko topping. Looked like a scoop of green ice cream and tasted great. Ended up having 3 rolls, a garden salad and the free app for $11.29. Everything, including the wasabi, was fresh and tasty. Presentation was surprisingly great too. Overall, not a place for a glamorous night out but rather a great sushi place for the money!!

    Vegetable Combo #1

You're going to get good sush here! Always go for the sushi combo. You can't go wrong + you get soup or salad. I've been ordering from here for 3 years and the quality has improved although it wasn't even bad to begin with but it somehow managed to be better haha pick up the veggie combo and find a beautiful place to sit and enjoy your mini sushi buffet.

I've been a couple times to try the sushi here. The location is a little suspect. It was also very cold inside. Interesting decor. Small space, enough for the few patrons that were dining on the one occasion I "sat in". The other time, I went to take out. Of note, they do deliver, as well. I had the yellow tail with jalapeño, which was quite good. The Naruto roll is also yummy, sushi wrapped with cucumber and no rice. The spicy pepper tuna was good, but not excellent. I found the albacore to be very fresh. The avocado salad was wonderful, and the ginger dressing very tasty. I was not the biggest fan of the Philly role or the Red Snapper sushi. The prices are reasonable and the service hospitable. I'd give them another try.

Amidst being fresh and brightly colored, the dish was quite bland overall. I begged for some elevated heat and flavor profiles-- it definitely fell short and was not spicy in the least. And I'm not a fan of a grease soaked platter... maybe it settled while I drove home but I definitely mopped up oil with a napkin/strained. No bueno. *Sidebar: They have a delicious green sauce that was really tasty and quite frankly saved the dish. I opted for this in place of a sweet Chili Glaze sauce that is provided because I hate sweet flavor profiles in all things dinner! Lol MVP: A wonderfully kind and efficient staff... the order was complete, error free, prepared timely and everyone was very friendly. The best item I purchased was the SANGRIA topped with fresh pineapple! Not the food-- it was all about their in-house beverages. Unfortunately, the set up is almost buffet like with add ons (I paid extra for Pico de Gallo... this also elevated the dish. With the sauce I selected and the pico, the dish literally would have been as bland as a cardboard sandwich). Perhaps it's me-- my palette is pretty elevated and I love heat. Peruvian dishes aren't exactly known for bombastic flavors, spice and heat... but the crowd and utter lack of parking got me excited. Will I return? Perhaps... definitely for a different item (perhaps the roasted chicken everyone was eagerly ordering) and it's a must on the sangria option! But $32.90 for a very basic fried rice mixed with lo mein moment + salad (I tipped $3 amidst to go).... Nah. I'd be lying if I said it was worth it. Lovely aesthetic and energy, however. Chef's energy on the food though was a miss.... Season! The! Food! Sir!

They do have a menu - takeout or dine in (few tables but the space is small) and they also have cafeteria style prepared foods that you can peruse. I called in an order for Chicken Mee Ka Tang (Cantonese Noodles), Beef Pho, Cold Cut banh mi, Lort (Cambodian eggrolls) and a Vietnamese coffee for the mister. When we got there I was enticed by the offerings and got a small container of the braised pork and eggs and stuffed bitter melon (don't knock it people, it is an acquired taste, lol). We really enjoyed everything we had but our faves were the banh mi (great flavor and didn't skimp on the meats at all!) and the Mee Ka Tang - it did have a bit more gravy than I'm used to but really great flavors - add a little bit of chili oil or sriracha and chefs kiss! The pork and eggs were a tad bit too sweet and pork was tougher than I'd like other than that, everything was delicious. Service was super quick and food was ready as promised. I ordered the Snow Mountain Ramen - the creamy tofu broth is unlike anything I've had and was so so unique and delicious. I thought about it for at least a week straight after eating it and am still dying to go back to get more. I also got the Iced Rose Matcha drink - $10 felt too pricy for this but I wanted a fun drink and a little caffeine kick - and again the flavors were unique and tasty. Both my friend and I happened to see someone we knew here - it's definitely a popular spot! It was packed on a Saturday night but it was still pretty quick for us to get a table for 2. Being a downtown city restaurant, the tables feel a bit cramped and I was a little too close to the table next to me for comfort - claustrophobics beware (honestly the soup is worth it though!!) Parking is pretty easy in the lot, although Holy crap they need to fix the potholes / harsh drop-off where it meets the street, and it still was not fully plowed many weeks after the big snowstorm (it's a shared lot so not a Y Noodle specific issue, but just saying). The only thing that was unpleasant were the bathrooms - I get it was a busy weekend night, but they reeked of a litter box the second you stepped in, the floor was dirty and very wet with unknown substances, and the Dyson hand dryer is at such a weird, too high level on the wall that it sprayed water in my face. Everything else was a dream, can't wait to go back! Hopefully the bathrooms were just a fluke.

Come on ... how much does it cost you to actually throw in a tiny cup of hot mustard? I mean, who doesn't eat hot mustard with Chinese food? It used to be that Chinese food was a fast and cheap dinner ... a combo meal here is $18, after substitution. I want to know ... who the fuck has ever actually eaten a shitty chicken wing from a Chinese restaurant without substituting it out? Probably nobody. You eat fresh BBQ chicken wings at a tailgate, not from a dirty restaurant the size of a college dorm room. Of course they know any sane person with working taste buds will substitute nasty skimpy wings for something else ... so they include them in every combo meal knowing people will pony up the extra $1.50 - $2.50. A combo with 3 crab rangoon, 3 chicken fingers (substituted for wings) and an egg roll now costs almost $20. The quality here is on par with a mall food court ... which is to say, not great. Dry AF fried rice with fatty cubes of pork which have the consistency and taste of a pencil eraser. The rice was almost chewy it was so dry amd barely tasted like pencil shavings it was so bland. The crab rangoon was decent ... filled with fake cream cheese and almost no crab. If you are drunk, it's fine and filling. Nothing you couldn't throw in an air fryer from a frozen box. The chicken fingers were okay. Likeky frozen a year ago and thrown into a deep fat frier hours before you ordered and kept under a heat lamp. If you are drunk or high, you'll leave a 4/5 star review. If you are unfortunately sober when you eat this, it will remind you of the dsys you'd scrape your lawn mowing money together and splurge on Chinese food from the mall food court when you were in middle school.
