I've driven by this place multiple times and, with a new found love for sushi, I decided to give it a try. My boyfriend and I were the only ones here for lunch around 3pm on a Wednesday. We started with an order of chicken maki which was delicious. I had the super lobster roll (one word, AMAZING) and although I can't recall the names, both signature rolls my boyfriend tried were tasty as well. We spent over $30 so were offered either edamame or California roll on the house. Finished our meal with fried ice cream to share which was, you guessed it, DIVINE. Finally! A sushi place nearby that delivers! Not only do they deliver, but the sushi is very fresh and delicious and they make cute little arrangements in the take-out containers. I ordered the chirashi for dinner the other night and it was great. For $16 you get several (by several I mean a lot) of fresh cuts of fish, fried egg and a heaping pile of sticky rice. It also came with a miso soup on the side, which was pretty decent. The meal was more than enough food. The delivery was very quick, but they're the kind of drivers that call from their car down the road instead of ringing the bell. My delivery guy was pretty nice though. I can't say enough good things about this place! The crab meat money bags are made in house, and are SO MUCH BETTER than your run-of-the-mill crab rangoons. Their sushi combos are AMAZING for the price, and will easily feed both my partner and I. I'm a big fan of their softshell crab roll, as well. They changed the doing sauce on the money bags a while back, I recommend asking for the "old" sweet, white sauce instead of the sweet and sour duck sauce type stuff they give you now. read more

Yikes...I had high hopes for this place based on reviews but after trying it twice definitely will not be returning. The fish smells very fishy and not fresh or quality. Additionally, the menu was wrong. I ordered summer roll, naruto, and angel roll. The summer roll and naruto both said they contained eel, but neither did! I'll start by saying I have ordered from Yoo for almost 2 years since moving pretty close to it. Previously, they would have had a different review, however after this weekend's experience I will NEVER eat at/order from/recommend this place ever again. I tried to place an order for delivery through their website. It didn't seem to work. It said "processing" for minutes and never confirmed my order. I checked my email and had no confirmation, nor a text, nothing. I assumed they were busy and just placed my order through Postmates. I got a confirmation from Postmates, got a text when it was arriving and all was fine. I NEVER heard another word from Yoo. The next day I check my bank account and see I was charged by their website- remember, I only received this order once and at the time Postmates texted me it had arrived. So I called to ask them to either refund it or just deliver it again, I was fine with either. I was met with the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They wouldn't let me finish explaining, accused me of stealing, and were so rude. I received a call from them again today saying my order was delivered. I repeat again that it wasn't. I was met with more rudeness and accusations. I hung up. THEN the same number texted me "thief". Please remember I paid for this order twice, and I got it once- seems to me that's the opposite of a thief. All of this was for a $25 order!! So much for customer service, right? I will NEVER eat here again- Jackys is better anyway, this place was just more convenient. Lesson learned. HORRIBLE PEOPLE. read more

Food got here quickly. I got the jalapeño spicy salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll, and chicken dumplings. Salmon roll was good but not amazing. No structural integrity to shrimp roll, all pieces fell apart in my chopsticks. So it wasn't enjoyable. Lastly chicken dumplings were not good at all, they were very, very dry. Just about a few months ago I loved this place and the weight staff. Such a go to especially because it was open until 1030! So craving sushi late night was not even an issue. The place is small, with the sushi bar across from the entrance and a pick-up window. The food was good but the crab rangoons had a creamy white dipping sauce that was overpowering. Ask for another sauce; they will charge you but it's worth it. Otherwise the crab rangoons were great. The sushi was good. I ordered the monster roll which was delicious and filling. I ordered from this place twice via uber eats and didn't have any problems until I opened my food. On the uber eats app, it doesn't list the ingredients of the dishes, so I ordered teriyaki chicken thinking it would be normal. Nope! This place apparently loves bell peppers and adds them to every sauce. The next time I ordered from here, I got pad thai thinking I would avoid the bell peppers. They were in the pad thai too!!! As someone who is sensitive to bell peppers (they hurt my stomach), this is frustrating because the ingredients weren't listed. Please label your dishes correctly and for the love of God, bell peppers do not need to be in every dish. They don't even belong in asian dishes!!! read more

Yum we got the 2 vegetable sushi combos and a mango jalapeño roll. And the vegetable gyozas. All were really good! My favorite vegetable rolls were the sweet potato and pumpkin but the avocado rolls were delicious too. I would order any of the rolls again or the gyoza. read more

Love this place. Everything is clean and all of the staff are super friendly and helpful. I usually do takeout but they do have a cute little sit down area with high and low tables. Marinated baby octopus are to die for! Can't get enough! Godzilla Roll is my go-to, but so many other rolls are also amazing. Steamed pork gyoza are really good. But I've had better. The "crunchy spicy" tuna and salmon rolls I ordered were both mushy and virtually flavorless. The texture was so off-putting I was concerned the fish was not actually sushi grade. I ate one piece of each and threw it away in disgust. The tom yum goong was very flavorful but was mainly broth with two shrimp, a few morsels of clam, two pieces of carrot, and a lot of poorly sliced onion. The seaweed salad was also tasty, although about 1/4 of the container turned out to be a bottom layer of iceberg lettuce. Don't waste your money like I did. read more

Updating my review. As some others have mentioned, over the past few months the quality has started to decline. This is a huge bummer because this is one of my favorite spots for takeout, and I generally order from here at least once a week. The past few times I have ordered the fish has been slimy and on two different occasions I had to throw out most of my order because it smelled fishy. The last straw was on my last order. They decided to tack on 1.00 to my order to "add jalapeño" I am not trying to be stingy, but I have never been charged to swap out an ingredient for an equivalent ingredient at any other sushi restaurant, nor have I ever been charged the prior 20 times I did it at this one. So this review is solely based on either take out or delivery orders. Realistically I would rate this place more like 3.5 stars because for a local, little hole in the wall type place the food I've had from here is pretty good. Primarily the orders I've had were various sushi rolls. I definitely have enjoyed their veggie roll combos and the spicy tuna rolls are equally as delicious. Plus whenever I get the miso soup it is always hot and has a good flavor to it. As some others have mentioned the prices here are very reasonable. And while delivery can be a little slow at times, the people working there are friendly. Might not be the best sushi there is in Providence but I consider it a good go to. read more

Be still my beating heart. I almost did not write this review because I want so much to keep this place all to myself. The sushi is excellent. I mean that. Unlike places like Ichigo Ichie or Haruki that pretend to have good sushi by drowning the roll in mayonnaise and panko, the fish is the star at this place. Really fresh fish, nothing to hide. This is definitely the best sushi in the Providence metro area. I am so happy to have discovered this place. Even the seaweed salad was much better than anyone else's. And the star of the show: Grilled squid ("BBQ Squid" on the app menu, I think). Seriously. If you are a grilled squid fan, this was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was fantastic. read more

Ordered their take-out which was fast and they were very nice. Have yet to experience their "sit-down" service. The food was good but not the best sushi I have ever had. They have some ways to go before they can reach the standards of my personal sushi places (Ichigo Ichie and Oki). But they have good service and I would purchase from them again. Their Godzilla roll was very good. I recommend it to first-time sushi eaters and those who rather cooked rolls rather than raw rolls. One last little issue: their location is not encouraging to me when it comes to actually having dinner there. It's situation around the Providence College bar scene (a.k.a the "Providence College Hoe Stroll Scene")...no thank, you. So maybe i will just stick with takeout. Do the owners of this restaurant not realize that they opened up shop in a rather rough part of town? Good thing the guy behind the bar is armed to the teeth. I don't know what the place was before - I am guessing it was a small dive bar, I hope as they move forward they add a bit more of their own character to the restaurant. At this point the restaurant still has the feel more of a place that you would stop for a quick lunch or a dinner with friends rather than the type of restaurant that you would take a date to. That being said, the food is worthy of a date night. For appetizer I got the seaweed salad, which was great, my girlfriend got the Miso soup, not so great. Before out entree arrived the chef sent over sample of a roll he was creating; Tuna and mango ..... wow!! YUMMY. For our main we ordered the Rainbow roll and a couple of the vegetarian roll options. Yoo Sushi, why did everyother review state your drivers called from the car, yet when I specified on my order to call and I would come to the side yard, was my food delivered to my neighbor in the front portion of the house, and subsequently thrown out. I lost track of time and realized my food never arrived. I called they told me it had, then sent the driver back here. The driver then told me he gave it to the woman at the front door, he didnt feel like calling. This really bothers me. Luckily they made a new order and delivered it quickly. The sushi was fresh, flavorful and neatly arranged in the little containers. I found the scallion pancake to be a little lack luster, but I believe I was hoping it would be more like the chive dumplings I've had at Aspara. Seaweed Salad was the right sweetness, and the Miso soup wasn't too salty. I will probably place an order for pick up in the future! No more attempts at delivery. read more

It was late at night and I was craving some sushi. I went on Grubhub.com (it's a site that let's you know what neighboring restaurants deliver to your door.) I was excited to see that there was sushi in the area, & decided to try it. I always order specialty rolls, if you're going to get sushi - might as well go all out, right?! Right. I don't remember the exact names of the sushi rolls but boy, were they yummy! I had my roommates try it and they loved it so much we decided to try a roomie lunch date the next week. We went to the location this time. The place is small, with an awesome backdrop though. It's wooden walls are empty and the tables and seats have no color. Delivery was quick, and they were affordable. The sushi was decent, I would say mid-range from the others in Providence but good for delivery. The soups were tasty, and delivery was fast. The "summer rolls" were awful. Not rolled tight at all, with wide rice noodles in them instead of vermicelli, and no basil from what I could taste, and the lettuce was all wrong.
