Taylor S and I came in for dinner tonight and wow, we had a great experience! Joy, the owner was so wonderful. She is there daily and checks on all tables! She is a wonderful business owner who is loved by staff, regulars and anyone who meets her! Erica was our server and she was wonderful! Kevin made our drinks and they were equally pretty and delicious! A win in my book! The space is absolutely stunning. The paint color makes the space so inviting and I loved the art, the lights, the bar and all of the green chairs. It was so pretty inside! It is certainly an elevated space. The menu is unique and next level. They are serving high quality food and the presentation on everything is amazing. I have never experienced anything like it. If you are looking for cool Asian-Italian fusion, this is def the place to go! Their menu is out of this world! I def will be back! This spot was 10/10!

We stumbled across this place by accident, but it seemed too unique to pass up. The service was absolutely wonderful. The server walked us through the menu and suggested how to order which was helpful. The tables were a little crowded together but it was a very lovely atmosphere. I liked it and it felt posh but comfortable. The food was delicious, the espresso martini was so yummy and I LOVED the crispy rice and Wagyu skewers. One star off because I believe it's a little overpriced for what you get, particularly the rolls. But overall would recommend.

We passed by Miso Mazza one day and immediately we were drawn to their aesthetic. We came across their restaurant week menu and figured it was the best time to try them out! We popped in on a Friday evening and it was decently busy. They had been open for maybe 4 months or so and they were still working out some kinks but nevertheless, staff was very friendly and food was really good! My favorite of the night, hands down, was the miso matcha strawberry margarita! I wouldn't hesitate to come back just for that drink alone! You're on fed hill, so expect it to be fed hill pricey. I personally wouldn't frequent this establishment on the daily because it is on the pricier side, but i wouldn't count this place out for a special date night or girls night occasion.

I'm loving the hand rolls here and went back a second time for it. It's a pretty restaurant right on Atwells Ave. Both times we went, it was noon so definitely wasn't busy. Second time was a snowstorm. Foods I enjoyed: crispy rice with truffle, truffle fries, wagyu stick appetizer (first time only...second time came out cold). Shrimp appetizer (bc they ran out of prawns) but it was the perfect cook and delicious sauce to accompany it. The Wagyu entree with parsnip puree was very scrumptious and I'd order it again. All the hand rolls were delicious: Wagyu, toro, scallop...all of them. Wasn't a fan of the pesto pasta bc to me, it wasn't green enough and needed more pesto. But their yuzu cheesecake dessert makes up for that! It also helps that the owner is very sweet and friendly. Will definitely be back to sample more hand rolls.

Meg M and I came here for dinner last night. The restaurant is beautiful! I love the ceiling, lights, chairs, bar, and artwork. Great first impression. They also offer free valet parking, I was lucky enough to find a street spot. The manager, Joy, greeted us and took care of us to start. She made some amazing recommendations and then Erica continued to wait on us. Everyone was soooooooo friendly and happy to help and make suggestions. We started with delicious drinks and crudo and of course had the crispy toro rice app. The crudo was really fresh and they make their own ponzu and soy sauce too! Even the flowers on the crudo were edible. The crispy toro rice app was truly the perfect bite - crispy, soft, and creamy all in one with great flavors. We tried three different sushi rolls - cod, poached lobster, and shrimp tempura. I've never had a poached lobster hand roll before. It was really great. My friend also had the wagyu beef skewers. I don't eat meat and I was tempted to take a bite. It smelled SO good! She said the beef was delicious and not fatty at all. We then split the salt and pepper calamari pasta dish. The pasta was great and the stewed tomatoes were delicious. We ended the meal with the sorbet trio and two more cocktails. We sat at the bar to talk to Kevin, the bartender. We wanted to get his recommendations for our second round. Kevin was a hoot and so much fun to chat with! Everything from the service, ambiance, food, and drinks was just spectacular. Cant wait to come back.

Came in for a girls dinner. It was amazing! The menu is really interesting. We tried a couple of the pastas and lots of the hand rollls. The server was so friendly and very funny! We got there about 7 and it was pretty empty but it was hopping when we left! The price is a little high but the quality seems really good.

Amazing food and was very accommodating with dietary restrictions! Very clean and friendly people:)

Had a great pre-birthday dinner here. I love the interior and the way they designed. It's intimate and welcoming. Friendly staff. I enjoyed the food and cocktails, especially the crispy rice. I'll be back to try more from the menu.

5 hand rolls: spicy salmon, spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, butter crab, and truffle scallop. All on point!

In town from Los Angeles and decided to try this quirky fusion place. The butter crab and truffle scallop hand rolls were standouts. The squid ink pasta with fried calamari was phenomenal. House made pasta was perfectly cooked, and the fresh tomato flavor was bright and inviting. Reminded me of my grandma's cooking! Waiter was personable and attentive. Food came out at a reasonable pace. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Providence.

Newly opened, Miso Mozza is a Japanese, Italian fusion restaurant, incorporating both Japanese and Italian flavors in its menu. The Uni Carbonero was so delicious. Uni and Ikura (salmon eggs) mixed in with the luxurious carbonara sauce. The noodles cooked to a perfect al dente. The Hamachi (Yellow Tail) crudo was another standout. Topped with jalapeño.and a yuzu dressing that was bright and clean. So good! Service was excellent and everyone pitched in to make sure our dinner was amazing. Thank you Joy, we had wonderful time.

The Drinks are great. The Lychee Martini is my new favorite and it's only $12. The sushi hand rolls are delicious and are only $8. The bartending staff is super friendly and attentive. This is a new "go-to" for me. I highly recommend this establishment.

A fantastic fusion of two of my favorite cuisines -- Japanese and Italian. We were fortunate to try it during Providence Restaurant Week when they offered a lovely three-course prix fixe meal for only $35. I started with the Toro Truffle Crispy Rice that I paired with a lovely sake and also tried my friend's wagyu skewer with chimichurri sauce. Both were excellent! We both had the pappardelle Miso Mozza al ragu, which was finished with a rich fois gras butter. The yuzo cheesecake was a perfect ending. The restaurant had a small but nice list of sake, wine, beer, and cocktails to match the Japanese and Italian dishes. Both the atmosphere and the service were lovely. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Massimo's has street parking or valet. They also take reservations. We came on a Monday and chose to order from their prix fixe menu. They also have a great à la carte menu. Our dinner came with focaccia and olives, a glass of house wine, an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $38/pp. Portions were smaller than the à la carte dishes but enough for us. Between my husband and I, we ordered the caprese salad and meatballs appetizers, sliced strip steak with mashed potatoes and mushrooms, a fettuccine with asparagus and prosciutto with cream sauce, and dessert was the pannecotta and cannoli. Pasta was freshly made and al dente, steak was tender and flavorful. We loved everything. My only complaint that for a large restaurant, bathroom was small. Only one unit per gender.

The restaurant had a lively atmosphere when we arrived. Most of the tables were occupied, but it never felt overcrowded. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server greeted us promptly, took our drink orders, and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. I ordered the Italian Old Fashioned, which was excellent, well-balanced, not too sweet, and with just the right amount of strength. My wife ordered the sangria, but she found it much sweeter than she expected. For dinner, my youngest son ordered the ravioli and really enjoyed it. My oldest, who is a very picky eater, ordered the short rib gnocchi and finished the entire dish in record time, which says a lot. My wife had the bard gnocchi and thought it was just okay; she didn't finish it. I ordered the scallops over risotto, and while it was prepared well, I found it to be just average. To end the meal, we shared the cannoli trio, which was easily the highlight of the evening. Our favorite was the candied orange cannoli, which had a great balance of flavors. Overall, I really liked the restaurant's beautiful space and inviting atmosphere. While the service was friendly and the cocktails were excellent, I found the food to be good but not particularly memorable. I'd come back for the ambiance and drinks, but I was hoping for a little more from the entrées.

The host seemed surprised to see us despite being right on time for our reservation but we were seated right away after a quick exchange. Our server Erik came right over with a smile and continued to be a consummate professional throughout the evening. I wish I could have him be my server everywhere I go. We started the night with some seasonal cocktails. The spiced pear old fashioned was to die for. Complete with a solitary large cube and balanced flavors it was delicious. Our table had veal parm, linguine and white clam, and lasagna. Each dish was fresh and executed perfectly. It's a garlic lovers paradise but never overpowering, in a way any Nonna would approve. For dessert we split a slice of limoncello cake. The cake was so light and fluffy it was like eating air. Even the frosting was light enough where it didn't feel like we were stuffing ourselves to finish it. It's a smaller place so it gets busy quickly and can be a little loud. I would highly recommended a reservation as I don't think you'd have much luck getting a table on a weekend. There was a bar area with some seats but it's probably not easy to get a seat there either. As the old adage goes, if a restaurant is full all the time there's a good reason why ;)

We have friends in the area who had heard of the place, but had never gone, so we made a reservation (2.5 months ahead for a 4 some on a Friday, so it must be special...) and finally got to see what the fuss was about. (Still wondering.) We started with what ended up being a high point, "beets and frites." A very interesting take with a lot of frites, not enough beets (5 slices under the stack), and about 2 tablespoons of the lemon aioli. The few tastes of the 3-part combination were great. The frites, crisp and soooo thin, were good on their own. The olive oil that came with the bread was very green (young), with a strong flavor but I was surprised that there was no pepper grinder. I had the (special) cod, which came with a lazy prep of broccoli rabe and OK potatoes. The fish was cooked well, moist and fresh, but I'm still not sure what the flavorless green topping was. Our table also had oxtail ravioli, which consisted of tasty little purses of thin pasta and nicely flavored meat inside. (Probably the best entree, and gained the second star.) The eggplant was unremarkable in terms of flavor of the sauce, and the veggies that went into it did not seem to be very fresh. For dessert, we had rhubarb peach tart and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was mostly crust and very shy on the rhubarb. The bread pudding apparently used Hershey's chocolate powder which was not a great flavor and left a grainy texture. The server was not very friendly, somewhat pushy, and insisted that we order the dessert when we ordered everything else. Allegedly, this was because the dessert is made to order, but we had the impression that it was to expedite our table time. Even so, with all that "careful planning" only 3 of the 4 entrees made an entry and we waited quite a while for the 4th to show up, even after asking. Overall, not a good experience and not a place I'll plan to revisit.

Our server, Dwight, seemed rushed and inattentive throughout the evening. From the start, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. We asked if we could move to a nearby table that was already set for eight, as our current table was cramped and located in a very tight walkway where people constantly brushed past us. We were told the table was reserved, yet from the time we arrived just before 6:00 PM until we left at 8:45 PM, no one was ever seated there. It was frustrating, especially since the cramped space made our dining experience uncomfortable. Service overall was lacking. Dwight rarely checked on us, and when we tried to get his attention for drinks or assistance, he would quickly pass by before we had the chance to ask. It often felt like we were bothering him. We were not offered water, and getting additional beverages was unnecessarily difficult. The food itself was just okay, nothing memorable. When we ordered dessert and cappuccino, the cappuccino tasted like it was made with spoiled milk, but again, no one came back to check on us, so we had no opportunity to address it. The most disappointing moment was the birthday acknowledgment. We asked for a dessert with a candle to celebrate an 85th birthday, and instead received a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, a small amount of whipped cream, and a candle. It was underwhelming and, honestly, a bit embarrassing. We would have gladly paid for a proper dessert. Jacob the busser was the only attentive one there. We have come to Pane e Vino every year for family birthdays because we've always enjoyed the atmosphere, but after this experience, we will not be returning.

Our favorite drink for a night out is a dirty martini extra dirty. The martinis here are NEVER cold enough. They are legit luke warm. So we have learned to ask for them extra shaken here. Not only were our martinis still not cold, but they were clear aka not dirty. We sent them back based on the color and our server brought the same martinis back with a side of olive juice. After trying them with the extra juice they had a dirty water taste to them, almost like the ice used to shake them was dirty, which is ironic considering they were barely cold. I hate to do this but we sent them back again and let the server know they simply didn't taste good and also were not cold enough. He ended up going back and making them himself and they were much better but STILL. It shouldn't be this difficult for a bartender to make a very standard drink. The food unfortunately was also very mid. The table behind us actually sent their food back twice as well and the manager had to come over. It's also worth noting I put in the reservation it was my husband's birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it at all. This restaurant is meant to be a splurge for a nice dinner out and honestly was not up to par at all. $300 dinner for two and I was extremely disappointed. Honestly don't think we will be back.

Our waitress responded, "No, we don't, but the closest thing we have to it is linguini...but we also have angel hair, penne, and spaghetti." I was a bit confused; capellini is much closer to angel hair than linguini! Same with spaghetti! Brushed it off and my BF ordered a chicken piccata. Couldn't help but notice that the 4 people behind us (who were there before us) didn't order their drinks or food until about 10-15 mins after us, but they got their food 35 mins BEFORE us (we actually started keeping track, we were there for 45-50 mins at this point). We got our food and my boyfriend was very confused because they delivered a chicken Marsala instead of his chicken Piccata; I didn't even notice. He only orders chicken piccata from one other place, so it took him a minute to realize what he had been served... he tried it, thinking that we could just wrap up our experience since we were already running late, took 2 bites and said it wasn't something he liked so he put it at the end of the table. Unfortunately, I had already finished my meal by the time the waitress came over to check on us. No apology for messing up his order, but a, "oh, would you enjoy this?" My boyfriend was stunned. The piccata came out 15-20 mins after this interaction. I enjoyed my chicken Francese and he enjoyed his picatta. Luckily, our shrimp cocktail and peroni were comp'd but I'm not sure why they couldn't just take the meal off at that point -- it was like $4 extra for something that we didn't order in the first place. We were about 30 mins late to the game that we planned well ahead for. Maybe it was a bad night, but this was not a good first impression. TLDR: Service was horrible, food was good.

Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante falls squarely into that second category for me. Years ago, when I was living in Providence, Friday nights often meant a trip to Federal Hill and a pizza from Venda to take home. It became such a regular thing that the drive over felt automatic. Even now, whenever I'm on the Hill and trying to decide where to eat, this is usually one of the first places that comes to mind. I've eaten here enough times that I honestly think I've worked my way through just about everything on the menu. That's not an exaggeration. The impressive part is that I can't think of a meal that left me disappointed. Whether it's pasta, seafood, pizza, or one of their specials, the food is consistently good. In a restaurant business where consistency can be surprisingly hard to find, that's worth recognizing. The wine list deserves a mention of its own. If you're a wine enthusiast, you could spend a lot of time exploring the selections here. I know I certainly have, and I'm afraid to calculate how much money I've spent doing exactly that over the years. No regrets, though. The staff behind the bar know what they're talking about and are always happy to make recommendations. The same goes for the cocktail and spirits selection. Friendly, knowledgeable, and never pretentious. Don't skip dessert, either. Every time I tell myself I'm too full, I somehow end up looking at the dessert menu anyway. One thing I appreciate is the parking situation. Anyone familiar with Federal Hill knows parking can sometimes feel like a competitive sport. The valet service is especially helpful on busy Friday and Saturday evenings. If valet isn't your thing, there are independent lots nearby, and occasionally you'll get lucky and find a spot on the street. During the warmer months, sitting outside in DePasquale Square is one of the best dining experiences in Providence. Good food, a glass of wine, live music drifting through the square, and people enjoying the evening. It's hard not to have a good time. One practical note: I'm a cash guy, so it doesn't affect me personally, but friends have mentioned there's a processing fee when paying by card. Just something to be aware of before the check arrives. It's also a great place to stop for an afternoon drink before heading elsewhere in the city. Whether you're settling in for a full dinner or just grabbing a glass of wine and people-watching for a while, Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante continues to be one of the most reliable spots on Federal Hill. Some restaurants have great nights. This place has been delivering great years.

The food and service were outright bad, and I got very sick. I ordered a Ceasar salad which featured soggy, browning lettuce glopped with dressing, and a pasta dish that had bizarrely sweet vodka sauce with way too much cinnamon or nutmeg in it. It was topped with extremely dry chicken that tasted at least days old if not defrosted from the freezer. My companion ordered a desert of churro-ish pastries topped with Nutella and the Nutella was (again) glopped on so excessively she couldn't eat more than a bit of the dessert. This kitchen really needs to work on their saucing and presentation. But the fact that I got so sick is what prompted me to write this review and warn other diners. There is a big difference between not being impressed by food and being made ill by it. i do not have a sensitive digestive system and this was BAD. We thought our waitress was extremely brusque. She finished our sentences in impatience and seemed to be very unhappy to have to deal with customers. We were laughing throughout our meal about how much she seemed to hate people and how that was not a great fit for someone in the service industry. And someone might want to tell the busboy that asking someone three times if they want a box and then responding, "OK, THROW IT IN THE TRASH??" is not a very appetizing thing to say to diners. He was trying hard but he was not properly trained.
