I came by since I was craving froyo and this stand was still located on the 2nd floor of the San Francisco Centre (FKA Westfield San Francisco Centre). I opted for 4 flavors: +Mountain Blueberry: Favorite of the four, it was creamy and full of blueberry flavor. +Peanut Butter: Creamy and reminded me of the inside of PB cups. -Triple Chocolate: Unlike last time, there was a burnt aftertaste. -Watermelon Sorbet: Icy w/an artificial taste. To top it off, I added: +Cheesecake bites: Soft w/a lemony flavor. +Chocolate chip cookie dough: Soft w/bits of chocolate chips. +Lychee popping boba: Good snap that tasted like lychees. +Mango popping boba: Good snap that tasted like mango juice. -Brownie bites: Stale w/burnt aftertaste -Passion fruit popping boba: Good snap, but they didn't taste like passion fruit. -Strawberry popping boba: Good snap, but tasted artificial. Side notes: 1.) Froyo is self-serve, but unlike other froyo shops I've been to, an employee scoops the toppings for you. It would be nice if they allowed self-serve toppings so customers can control the amount. 2.) Pricing is by weight 3.) Walking distance from Powell Station, which is connected to the mall. *Verdict: 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Compared to last time, the froyo melted faster. I was disappointed in the yogurt itself because it was very icy? The machine took forever to pull out the froyo so maybe they were low. But it didn't have that strong froyo flavor. Although I had great experiences here growing up coming to the mall. When I went today they had music BLASTING through their speakers, it honestly felt so disrespectful and inconsiderate. I had to speak in a louder tone for even the worker to hear me ask for toppings. One of their flavors had an off putting sour taste, glad I tried them all before committing and their cheesecake bites tasted so bland. They were about to close so the fresh fruit wasn't available but I'm glad the staff still let us make a bowl with the toppings they had! Self serving yogurt machines are a great way to challenge customers like us. Anyone who comes by is capable of pushing a lever, up or down, to get a piece of frozen yogurt. After couple days of experience, I realized what I've done didn't come out a perfect swirl. I'm glad I never choose to work at Matcha Café Maiko. Some of the staff there made lots of perfect green tea swirls. Yoppi in the 2nd floor of Westfield is a perfect place to do-it-yourself for a bowl of froyo. There's also fresh cuts of fruits and nuts to choose from. All real flavors are of good quality, while froyos are tart. I come to self serve vegan pineapple sorbet. But what already caught my eye is an açai bowl. Instead of self serving froyo, its better to tell a cashier to serve scoops of superfruit goodness, which cost little more than a self serving froyo. If you ever happened to come and buy a frozen treat without using self serving yogurt machines, Yoppi in Westfield is perfectly good for açai. read more

The yogurt here is pretty decent, I had the original tart flavor and it's about as good as what you would get from a Yogurtland kind of shop. There are also a good variety of toppings, ranging from raspberries and other fresh fruit, to mochi to syrups and candies. The main drawback though is that it's rather expensive. I stumbled upon Yoppi after finding out that, to much of my dismay, the Pinkberry near union square has been permanently closed. Thanks to Yoppi, my FroYo craving has been getting nicely fixed. The falsetto, however, is delivered by the accompaniment of the cheesecake bites and mochi balls. I don't know what it is, but this heavenly combo makes up the holy trinity of a FroYo experience for me no matter where I go. I hate to admit it, but I may be losing my loving feeling for Yoppi. I can't tell if it's because the Westfield location is just too small a space to make the product enjoyable or maybe it's because I've been cheating on Yoppi. Yes, I admit it. Honestly the only reason Jamie W. and I came here the other night was because we just happen to be in the mall and wanted something sweet to spoon in our mouths as we watched the light show under the dome. We looked at the flavors available and settled on the peanut butter (see photo). It was alright, a bit on the drippy side like the machine was acting up or something but not the creamy sensation I remember tasting at the Montgomery Street location. Perhaps Yoppi was just having a bad day and just needs to go to the beauty parlor to fix itself up the next time we pass by. However, with so many other froyo shops around, we feel our devotion waning for Yoppi. It's probably how Hugh Hefner felt when he left one nondescript playmate for another and another and another. Just call me Hef, and at 45 cents per ounce, Yoppi is starting to feel like an aging playmate waiting for the newer, fresher model to come along. Yoppi has a small little froyo store in Westfield shopping center. Because it's so small, they have limited flavors and toppings and no seating. It's definitely froyo to go. They offer six different flavors which include original tart, vanilla, chocolate, blueberry, pomegranate, and yellow cake batter. I went with the original tart because it's sort of my litmus test for all froyo joints, plus it's one of my favorite flavors. Yoppi's froyo plus toppings are priced at 45 cents an ounce, making them a bit more expensive than the rest of their self-serve competition (typically 39 cents/ounce). My first reaction to Yoppi's froyo is that it's very icy. It's a personal preference, but it's too icy for me. Tartness flavor was okay. They do have some toppings I haven't seen anywhere else. These include their "boba poppers" and different flavors of mochi. The boba poppers are small soft balls that contain flavored liquid inside. I tried their mango and yogurt boba poppers. The mango (orange) boba poppers remind me of salmon roe you can get at sushi restaurants! I also tried their multicolored mochi. Pretty cool. This place is just standard frozen yogurt with various toppings. The yogurt here is just average like Yogurtland, for instance, but this costs 2x more. There were 12-16 flavors, which allow great customization, and you also get to sample the flavors. Regardless, this is a convenient place to grab frozen yogurt, but I would personally not go out of my way to check this place out in the future. read more

I didn't expect much because of the lack of customers but the workers at the place was really welcoming. I would like to put the spot light on this guy with the glasses usually at the cashier the only guy that seems to work there he helped me with all the flavors and actually let me try out the yogurt which I really appreciate since the other workers didn't let me and with that I found the flavor I liked and bought more. But I would like to say this other time I came around there was a old Asian lady who was fighting an homeless and cursing out loud which made me doubt the place but this time really changed my mind. The pricing isn't bad as I went to other yogurt place that tasted the same with higher prices and the topping selection is good too. I would say to clean the place more but it's an yogurt shop so it's bond to be dirty but to clean it a little more frequent. The sample monitor man here must get paid a ton because he was really on top of regulating that ish. They def foiled my plan of sampling until I was pretty much full when the guy walked away with all the sample cups in hand after my second sampling. Hrmph. Fine. I guess I'll go legit and pay for what I eat (only I didn't and instead Abby S was nice enough to foot the fro-yo bill for everyone), if you insist. The joint is about the size of a nice, upper-middle class walk in closet so they only offer 6 flavors, but you can vote on their next 'seasonal' flavor on their magnet board in front. I didn't see anywhere to get a magnet dot to place my vote so I just mashed my hands on the board and moved like 30 of them off of one flavor I didn't like to the one I know should be the winner. I'd maybe feel if I didn't feel like everyone does the same thing. I ended up trying all 6 of the flavors and they were just fine, but my trough of fro-yo ended up being mostly chocolate-y, rich and non-fruit flavors until I got to the toppings where I loaded on both types of bursting boba (my favorite!!) and lychee (also my favorite). The yogurt hit the spot after a gluttonous crab dinner/smorgasbord with friends. Omg... First time I saw the Irish mint flavored froyo at this yoppi, and I think I'm in love with it! Just so minty and the right amount of sweetness. Personally I'm not even a fan of mint ice cream, and this Irish mint froyo blew my mind away when I sampled it. I love froyo! I love Yoppi! I can consume so much original tart froyo, no joke. I come here at least 1-2 times week, it's that good! I can live off froyo if I had to, for real. Lol. I'm not a fan of flavored froyo, that's what ice cream is for! But I do love my tart. They do have a lot of toppings though I hate the twisting dispensers! One time, I turned the knob and got more than I want but it was ok. I never been to a froyo spot that had chocolate covered raisins so it was something new and actually good. This location spot is pretty random, wish it were in the concourse of Westfield or a freestanding store on Market street. Usually when people ask me if I know any froyo spots nearby, I always direct them to Yoppi. Yoppi DOES have a frequent customer program. You just have to always tell them your phone number. They print you a copy receipt of all the times you've visited and how much you've paid. Once you've hit $50, you get free froyo! For a froyo place, this location lacked variety in its flavors. My sister was disappointed, but luckily for me, I typically like to just stick to the original tart and add in mochi and those mini boba balls. There were six flavors including original tart, lychee tart, vanilla, chocolate, and a couple others. I tried the original tart and the lychee tart. The lychee tart was really good. Perfect hint of lychee and a refreshing tartness to it. In terms of toppings they had the usual mochi (regular, green tea, and strawberry), mini boba balls, syrups, crushed oreos, cookie dough, sprinkles, nuts, crushed candy bars, chocolate chips, etc. For about 2/3C of froyo and toppings, I paid about $3.50. It's a nice option to have when you're craving something sweet but don't want anything super heavy like Ghiradelli's ice cream downstairs. read more

It's always pretty crowded in here, and you have to ask behind the counter for a sample cup. It feels like there are less toppings offered here, but I can't confirm that. It was popular when I noticed and it had various flavors of frozen yogurt and it was a surprise to see what they had. They have samples as usual because it's ice cream. Yoppi is an Asian frozen yogurt business. It sold lychees and kiwi as toppings. It had toffee and all kinds of toppings. It has an original yogurt flavor. When people want to go shopping at the galleria in SF, you can have a yogurt snack and it's not fattening at all. It's healthy with no butter and no bad calories. It's not ice cream but it still is ice cream without cream. It's yogurt. It was Asian and not Easy Breezy. People spend $3-6 on frozen yogurt and like to get a snack. It makes you happy and it's a storefront and people are supposed to go to storefront and have an ice time going to storefronts instead of sitting inside. They want to visit mall and this was not in the basement food court. You could get a pressed juice or something like this. It's full of people and positive. read more

Shopping with my mom and all of a sudden she said she wanted fro-yo so we were walking over to the new mall to cut through bloomingdales when I spot this place! Not wanting to go outside to the cold and wanting to try something new we decided to walk into this little shop. They had 3 machines offering 6 flavors. Self-serve, my favorite. I grab a cup and went at it with the tart machine. Sadly, there isn't that many flavors to choose from and the toppings although limited and was in a need of restocking offered interesting toppings of fruits and these little balls filled with juice and my favorite mochi in multiple favors. Self serve frozen yogurt inside the shopping center. $0.49 cent per oz. it can be expensive the more stuff you have inside your cup. The toppings are the one with the most weight. Not many selection of flavors of the frozen yogurt. There are 3 bars of each flavor, the middle bar is to mix flavor. I notice that there a section where you can pick which flavor you want for the following week or day which is cool so you dont get the same flavor all the time. My brothers and I needed to fulfill our sudden sweet tooth for the afternoon so conveniently we stopped in for some froyo. There wasn't a huge selection to choose from but there were solid choices and flavors so I wasn't disappointed. The gentleman behind the counter quickly offered us sample cups which we capitalized on. The mint flavor was just like a shamrock shake from McDonald's but I liked that it wasn't an overwhelming amount of mint. I ended up going with a few classics, chocolate and vanilla, but as a twist because I'm fancy. I also added a dollop of Dulce de Leche froyo to the mix because why not. There aren't many good frozen yogurt joints in the civic center area so I walked down Market from UN Plaza with a couple of friends just for Yoppi. The sample cups are always in a different place every single time I come here, this time I had to ask because it was between the wall and the cash register. I tried the pink grapefruit tart and it was stellar. I threw the sample cup away and asked for a new one to be courteous and hygienic. I also did the girl working a favor by pushing up the handles on every machine for her (I don't like my froyo all melted)! At $.45/oz, I value every bite of my frozen creation. The Irish mint was not up to my code and the original tart tasted like Yogurtland's original tart. So it makes sense that I dispensed mostly pink grapefruit tart and a little bit of original. I ran for the mango and green tea mochi before anyone else would dig in and ruin it. The green tea mochi was suprisingly easy to scoop and was not sticky at all. The mango mochi, however, was clumped together. I forgot to ask if the popping balls were from Taiwan (darn, hopefully I don't get poisoned) but I only like yogurt-filled balls since the other popping ball flavors are way too sweet and unhealthy. The variety of fruits is great but the strawberries and blackberries looked disgusting and I had to call the girl out to replenish with fresh pieces that don't look like spit. I'm getting my berry mojo on now with everything: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Lastly, I can't forget the crushed graham cracker to top it all off. Was looking for this place inside the food court but it's on the second floor of the mall as the sign at the entrance says :-D The yogurt flavors of the moment were: plain Yoppi, mango, cheesecake, chocolate, vanilla, tangerine sorbet and maybe another one I forgot. We asked to have samples, the girl at the register was very friendly. I ended up getting a mix of cheesecake and mango (it's white not orange, like in other places). For the toppings, there is A LOT to choose from: mandarin oranges, strawberries, mango, pineapple, Reese's, cookie dough, chopped almonds and other nuts, mochi, brownie pieces, chocolate chips, different cereals, gummy bears and syrups: chocolate, peanut butter, caramel... The cookie dough was yummy! Didn't wanna go too crazy with yogurt and toppings, I probably had about 1 cup or a little more and it ended up being 8$ for 2 people! Not bad at all.
