This is for my latest visit here 8/1/26. This is my family's go-to place from time to time. My last visit here was exceptional. Smooth sailing! No problem whatsoever. They were very accommodating, friendly, and the food came out quick and fresh. It was a slow Friday morning, and I'm glad I came here. There's an in n out up the street that frankly dominates so I will cut to the power move for you: I would get a combo from in n out and toss out the fries, go to Yorgos and at least order their fries which were thick cut and so good! Toss out the chain fries (unless they made a good batch) and enjoy your upgrade. Yorgos has clean bathrooms and a variety of food in n out doesn't make. Charbroiled burgers are great here! 1 reason that made me put the 5 stars was what I witnessed during my visit. CLASS ACT displayed by none other than presumably the owner! He brought out an order straight to the elderly woman whom I noticed moved with difficulty as in needing of a prop. Dude offers to help bring her order to the vehicle where the lady politely declines. He walks away briefly but decides to insist as he reminds her that carry all the goods would be quite difficult. She then proceeds to accept. He quietly apologizes to me as he is nearby my booth. I proceed to my car rishon after witnessing all of the wholesome interaction! The cooks aren't the issue the problem is the customer service from the staff at the counter. The fries portion was small, and while the burger had potential to be tasty, the experience was overshadowed by the interaction when I asked about getting more fries. Instead of helping, I was told I'd have to pay extra. The burger special was advertised at $6.99, but I ended up paying $11.64. Because of the back-and-forth, I decided to return the food. Yorgos is my go-to burger spot in Gardena when I am feeling inclined for an American Staple. While I do enjoy the other local offerings, I just feel the need to get a burger fix at a local mom-n-pops. I like seeing the families here coming in to have a meal together, talking about the simple things in life. I love that the TV is on showing the game. The foundation drink station with free refills is still around despite it disappearing from McDonald's, Burger Kings and other fast food joints. Now I usually don't eat here and don't remember the last time I ordered a whole combo meal w/ drink included. I decided to give them a spin on a whim, and upon leaving the drive thru, I noticed our drinks were a watered down disaster and flat as a sheet of paper. A Total let down. It sucks too because Yorgos does make tasty good old fashioned American burgers with fulfilling fries to complement. This place is pretty solid as a "greasy spoon diner" you see all over the city. It's clean and nice. The food is good and they do have a "burger, fries and soda" special for around $6. The menu is diverse, but most of the stuff is in the $8-15 range for pricing, which isn't bad per se, but don't expect fast food prices (but than again, fast food prices aren't cheap either in 2022... you're paying $8-15 at McDonald's and I'd rather eat at Yorgos where the food is fresh and way better tasting. I was craving some fired food so I decided to try this place. I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and my order was taken correctly and fast. I ordered a garden burger, large fries, large fired zucchini, large onion rings and a garden salad. I added cheese to my garden burger and it came 1000 island spread which was so good with the pickles. The fries, zucchini and onion rings were fried perfectly and not greasy at all. The garden salad was fresh and I chose ranch dressing. The ranch for the salad and dipping was delicious. The inside Yorgos looks like a retro diner. I was surprised to see an autograph picture of Mariska Hargitay on the walls. I love Law and Order SVU so I thought that was cool. I am sad that I need to update my review and downgrade it so much. This is based on their breakfast burritos. (We don't go for much else here) I blame inflation. Prices have gone up, and what you get is just not worth it! We have come back more than a handful of times over the past two years to see if anything has improved, but alas, no. You get the same large, flour tortilla, but it is mostly filled with the hash browns now. There's a decent amount of eggs, and then the tiniest serving of your protein choice mixed in. As in you can literally take a couple of decent bites and not get anything but hashed browns and eggs. Their service is still great , which earned them the two stars. But unfortunately, unless they can go back to how they used to make their breakfast burritos, we won't be going back. I've been getting my breakfast burritos in Hermosa Beach now when we have that craving, or want to share something yummy with friends. I want to come back, Yorgos! Nachos Carne Asada!!! They're beyond amazing! Usually at burger places their asada doesn't really taste authentic but this place set the bar high up. The meat was delicious ( not doubt). I also ordered their California Sandwich with fries which I though was pretty standard for a burger place but delicious at the same time. I would however recommend to maybe add more ham or even Avocado to garish it to make it look a bit felling. First time here. It looked ghetto but I still tried to give this place a chance. Went through the drive thru. I asked for a fish sandwich which was $7.99, for the meal I paid $14.32. A tiny small side of ranch is 50 cents. Lady forgot to give me my change in the drive thru. I had to tell her I had change. Food was not great. Yorgo's is a good deal although like everywhere the prices have gone up. Good stuff I've eaten at Yorgo's include lentil soup, navy bean soup, chili fries, chili tamale, sausage breakfast burrito, sausage breakfast tacos and pastrami sandwich. First time eating from this place, but my boyfriend and his brother had good experiences here. We entered the drive thru to put in our order. I decided to do a double cheeseburger combo that comes with a medium fries and drink. We then brought the food home once it was all ready. The burger was pretty good though I had to take out the tomato slice since I'm not a fan of that hehe I loved the amount of cheese in the burger and it was filling on top of the overflowing wrapper filled with fries.
