What a gem in downtown Steubenville! This shop is super unassuming from the outside (and partially the inside), but the food and service are great! This no frills gyro restaurant is serving up some of the largest gyros I've ever seen for under $12. The 82 year old owner was behind the counter manning the grill and the two ladies working beside him were friendly and quick to bring out our food and drink orders. The coffee was nothing exciting, but the caramel frappe is a nice sweet treat to add to your meal. The gyro meat was piled so high that I had to eat half of it just to be able to pick up the pita and it still be structurally intact. The meat is juicy and flavorful, the tomato and lettuce are fresh, the tzatziki is creamy, and the pita is warm. What more could you ask for? read more

I was visiting this cute town for their annual Nutcracker Festival event. I continued to ask local people what is the best place to eat in town. Most people suggested here because you can get a little bit of everything and the other suggestion was a chain place. I decided let's go local. I'm giving two stars because the town really hyped the place but other that if you're coming from out of town probably not the place to visit. The staff was very friendly, I will say that. I placed my order and they were out of tenders. I ordered their famous large baked potato and they were out of sour cream. My child has a food allergy so we are very limited with what we can order. Though I get it's not mandatory to wear mask, no one was wearing them. My issue came with the worker handling food that kept coughing more than a few times barely covering her mouth. When I got my food the chili baked potato was in a pool of grease. Barely tasted like chili but like browned meat with meat with pepper. Got a Gyro, the meat was a little over cooked. Coming from an area that has some great Greek restaurants the comparison bar is high. I'm glad that the locals can enjoy the food. It just wasn't for us and it made me sick after we had it. read more

I love gyros, but I typically get chicken gyros. I'm not a fan of lamb, but my wife brought home a few traditional gyros from this restaurant and I absolutely love them. So much that we had to go again that week. You get a lot of food for whatever you order. I think we learned to get a few extra Gyro shells so you can actually make two or three gyros from one Gyro platter because they give you so much meat. Everything was excellent from the potatoes down to the gyros and the stuff grape leaves... Amazing.! It actually was better than several of the vendors that I had gyros from at the Greek festival in Steubenville. I highly recommend this place. read more

Wow. Just incredible. The best find in Steubenville. Amazing portions, bountiful options, delicious quality. The potatoes were tremendous, a little buttery a little lemony...mmmm. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, not dry not overcooked... just great. The gyro was fresh and enormous, shaved off right in front of you. Tzatziki sauce was flawless and homemade! I ordered a sandwich and potatoe. Asked for no onions or cucumber sauce. my friend got there food and was finished before I even got mine. my order was wrong they added onions and sauce. and I didn't even get my potatoe they forget. said I could not wait another 20 minutes for another one. cashier with attitude says "we are busy", then talk to owner asked for a refund. he hands my only half of it back and says "come back when we aren't busy". mind you it was empty when we got there. I reminded him of that. then he says "maybe this place just isn't for you.". so rude after THEY screwed up and took zero accountability. read more

The house dressing is great. The grape leaf rolls are so good. This place isn't just for those who love gyros. Im not big on gyros and I love this restaurant. I get the chicken salad with the house dressing and alwa,s have extra chicken for the next day. Portion are huge. I cant forget those desserts. I dont know the names of them but the one roll that looks like a birds nest( best way i know how to describe) is cravable. They get so busy sometime but there's good reason. The vibe of the restaurants is welcoming and worth any wait they have. It's just two people who get food out and pretty fast. read more

MASSIVE portions when ordering the Gyros. They are delicious, too - great sauce, well cooked, and crispy crusts. The sides are also massive. The menu is surprisngly huge for such a small place, with new specials every day! Friendly staff. If you arriveright around noon, expect to wait a while, as they can get quite busy. This is such a cute little place that is a staple of Steubenville. I met a couple that came from Warren, Ohio, just to eat the food. Everything is delicious and big portions. It is not fancy inside but clean. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

This sad, poor old cafeteria style restaurant is in need of much updating, especially improving the quality and taste of the food. Our simple order of 2 regular gyros/1 junior, and 1 chicken gyro (all with fries) took over 30 minutes and came out disappointing item by disappointing item. One batch of the Fries was raw/undercooked. The worst "tzatziki" sauce I've ever had - runny, bland, ruining the whole gyro causing it to be soggy. The chicken gyro, which took nearly 30 minutes, and came out with enough meat for 3 gyros. Combined with the old, dingy decor and children coughing, this experience literally left me with no appetite. One of the best and very few places to get actual greek food. The Greek fries are amazing..it is super busy at lunch time so be ready to wait but it's totally worth it. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable. The overall feel is very diner-esque but not in a bad way! The location is downtown Steubenville, which doesn't sound great and is normally associated with crime but it's actually pretty chill there & is growing new businesses! As I've said in previous reviews, the 5 star rating is saved by me, for the best of the best, and this mom-and-pop delicatessen earned it! I'll keep it simple... first and foremost... THE FOOD! I got the original gyro. In all of my travels, never have I had such large portions, such fresh ingredients, such quality meat, for such a great price! Between the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the facility, and the quality of the food, it is hard to find a negative. Even the parking didn't disappoint me. This location is in downtown Steubenville, which is probably the least palpable part of the experience. STARS 4.5!!! I should feel ashamed of myself for eating so much. The overwhelming satisfaction being felt throughout my body and the sh#t eating grin on my face won't allow it. I'm full and HAPPY right now.
