BOTTOM FEEDERS !! I ran out of gas and coasted into a grocery store parking lot after hours. Happened to see a few people I knew hanging out right across the street finishing up there Memorial Day celebration. I hadn't walked more than two blocks before my phone rang and my friend told me that my car was being towed the tow truck driver didn't want to hear anything about how I ran out of gas and would be right back within minutes even with several people telling him that. Honestly he had to have been hanging out waiting for someone to park in the lot so he can grab their car like a predator because he was that quick. I would have been better off breaking down in the middle of the street and having the police tow me. I get it they're just doing their job but seriously when you've got people with the car telling you exactly what happened and you still tow it that makes you a predator. read more

They towed my car and damaged it. I'm waiting to hear how bad it is, but I was told they messed up the axle while towing it. They also demanded cash and refused to let me pay with a debit card. It's no surprise that the city suspended their municipal towing license once in late 2011. The city of New Haven made a massive mistake by reinstating such a corrupt group of thugs. First off, I want to make it clear that I understand the important of tow companies. They perform a valuable service in keeping traffic lanes clear, and also in helping people stranded by breakdowns. I've had positive relationships with tow/repair shops in the past, to the point that I kept their number saved in my phone for any time I needed car help, because I appreciated their honesty and transparency. That being said, this is not an example of that kind of tow company. This company is staffed by small, petty people who will do anything to make a quick buck, up to and including lying to your face. If you get towed by them, I feel for you, and if you go here willingly...just don't go here willingly. This business is a disgrace. They towed my car on a Sunday morning when the lot was empty. I had a family emergency at Yale and ran up because I couldn't find the lot being unfamiliar with the area. I was back in less than 45 to move my car and it was already towed. There was at least 20 open spots. I understand that there are rules to keep people from taking advantage but clearly this wasn't the case. This business is unethical and greedy. I am writing this review regarding my experience with York Towing. I called York because they were recommended to me by my motor club. I contacted them, and within 15 minutes a drivers had contacted me back to come and pick up my car. The driver was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. At the end of the day, I was contacted by the manager who was letting me know that they had been able to fix the issue with my car. The staff at York Towing was surprisingly amazing. I have never received such outstanding services with other auto repair/towing companies. I highly recommend them. read more

They stole my car from Walgreens in New Haven at York St. They did not do proper procedure. They were suppose to come inside Walgreens and ask if anybody owns the car before they tow it. Joe from York Towing helped me out at the rest area on the Mass Pike in December. I was on hold for 15 minutes with AAA and saw him drive in and flagged him down. He had just pulled in for gas but helped me anyway. I had new tires installed on my car the day before and noticed one of the lug nuts was askew and felt it too risky to continue my drive. When I flagged him and asked for help he didn't hesitate to do so. He very efficiently went around my car and tightened all the lug nuts and assured me the one in question was not going to pose an immediate problem but needed to be fixed. I had money in hand to pay him and he said " NO Charge". Thank you for for such generosity in service and in spirit. read more
