I came here on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty empty. It was honestly a bit tricky to find the door since it's tucked into a small hallway. I ordered a seafood combo, which had a piece of fish that was cut into pieces and 4 scallops. It took about ten minutes for me to get my food. I got it with vinegar and tartar sauce but the staff was friendly and gave me some cocktail sauce to try. However, they either didn't give me vinegar or added onto my plate. I couldn't taste it though but they had some packets on the table so it wasn't a big deal. Honestly, I didn't expect to have fish this good in the desert. The fish itself tasted very good and it had a good crispy batter. The batter to fish ratio was also excellent and I did not feel disgusting after finishing my meal. Absolutletly first rate food! the Bad: the "ambience"is atrocious. Plastic tables and chairs on a linoleum floor. Country music on an AM station. Malt vinegar in plastic packets. I visited this place yesterday. First time here and I must say everything was great. The eating area was very clean. The staff were really cool. The prices differ from the menu I saw on the internet but that's likely due to inflation and tariffs on imported fish. My order came with 4 pretty decent size pieces of fish, fries, and 4 shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection. The fish was crispy and not burnt, cooked well. I also ordered hush puppies and let me tell you, these were probably the best hush puppies I've had in the A.V. As I was eating, I noticed the gentleman that had taken my order going around the eating area making sure the tables were clean and had condiments. Nice guy, hard worker. The area where this restaurant is located is in a small obscured shopping center. It had some homeless people in the parking lot. Overall, I highly recommend this place. Good good, awesome staff, clean eating area, what more could you want? I'll be here again soon. read more

Came to York shore for dinner for some fish and chips and let me tell you I wasn't disappointed at all except for the fact that it was so under salted but the fish was crispy coleslaw was ok the onion rings were awesome. I didn't get to taste the chips but other ppl in my family said it needed salt also but very crispy I did ask for the chips to be well done cause most fast food places under cook their fries in my opinion so I always get extra crispy fries they usually come out right. I called in my order and when I got to the store it was ready which I appreciate it took about 15min for an $89 bill It was a lil more than I wanted to spend but it was ok now the one item that we got tonight that was wonky was the zucchini it was a lil too soft other than that I would go back but probably for lunch. UPDATE JAN 13, 2026 - still having the occasional issue with the quality of their fries, and the amount being given out. Fries were greasy and too thin - but a lot of restaurants seem to be dishing out these skinny fries. Guess they don't understand these kind of fries are pretty much unedible. Yorkshore seems to be slowly reducing the amount of fries that come with their dinner baskets, forcing us to buy at least one separate side order of fries, then they seem to get all confused when we do this, lol. This is only the 2nd time i've ever complained about their food. They have the best fish in town and we've been eating there since I was a teen. I ordered the 1 piece fish and a small clam chowder - rather than charging me a La Carte, she gave me the Thursday special price even though it wasn't Thursday. My husband ordered the 1 piece fish and a side of coke slaw as we weren't into the fries. The clam chowder wasn't quite hot enough and rather salty. It did have lots of clams and potatoes. First time here and was I recommended (by the host) to get the 2 pc fish and chips for 2 people, therefore I did. I was curious to try the coleslaw so I ordered a side. Review: The fish were good size and ok at best. The "chips" were sad and small portioned. I could've got more and better at a primo burgers. The coleslaw was good but was a baby size. I specifically asked for tartar sauce and vinegar. Got the tartar no vinegar. Who eats fish and chips with no vinegar?! All this for $26! No thanks. I will not be coming back unfortunately. Blown away by this spot. Super good fish and chips. Tastes very fresh and with the best tar tar sauce I've ever had. Large portions that will fill you up and for a reasonable price. Super nice and respectful guy with the P hat that was working made the experience even better. He took extra care to the detailed order and even brought it out to us. I will admit, I've passed by this place for 4 years and it looked sketchy to me, but inside is a different story. I was disappointed in the size of their fish fillers, as they are considerably smaller than what I remember, and yet the price was outrageous. $19 for 2 pieces of fish and few fries. The shrimp I got was good at least. The employees though, they really need some training. The 2 ladies were arguing with each other and not privately, right there with customer present. Their fish and chips is just like H Salt. When H Salt closed I was very disappointed and some how I wandered into York Shore and they also make bomb clam chowder. They have a huge menu, but I stick to my favorites. It is on the pricey side especially if getting sides, but so is everything else. read more

Best fish I have found in Southern California! Delicious, the breading is crisp and flavored just right. The tarter sauce is perfect. The meat is very similar to halibut, delicious. The price is high but good fish anywhere is not cheap, it is worth it for me. The restaurant is small, with about 8 tables, clean and family friendly. There will be a 15-20 minute wait for food as they prepare it after it's ordered. We have been going here for two years and hope that it will be open until for many years to come, we love the fish! read more

Wowzer, this place is, to use a thematic term, off the hook! Right off the bat, let the food cool a bit- it comes out HOT! In my impatience I burned both tongue and digits... but it smelled so good, I did it anyway. Came in for the fish, but really enjoyed the scallops that were in my Tuesday Special. The fish here is perfect! I prefer the Pollock over Cod, and the fillet was excellent. Big fat fries were cooked really well, and I will be back to try other menu selections for sure. read more
