She was super friendly and I just dropped my dog off and came back and I absolutely loved how she helped. The last place I went to they did a few little nicks and scratches, and there was none when I picked up my dog from Canine Cottage. In fact, she was worried that she clipped a nail too short, cause she thought that she saw blood, but that did not happen. Or at least I didn't see anything wrong. Unfortunately and sadly my experience was not good and I won't be returning. 3 hours is a long time for a 12 week old puppy first off to be at the grooming salon. In addition, when I picked him up, they just let him out of the backroom to roam, I had to ask where his collar and leash were, then she couldn't get the collar on, so I stepped in and put on his buckle collar. He was visibly stressed and overwhelmed. I asked if anyone had taken him out in the 3 hrs, no one knew. So I ran him out, he did both businesses. I went back in and asked another question while I paid about the service, again no one knew who did what. Cut wasn't too bad. Not the worst, not the best. I also asked if on the next one we could shorten the time and services and they said no, so I am going to try somewhere else sadly.

The wound is still pretty fresh and sensitive to touch. Called to ask what happened but they just straight up claimed it didn't happen at their place, no apology or anything. I would have taken an apology, but they just brought out this "it's-your-words-against-mine-what-can-you-do" attitude. Stay away from this place. UPDATE: For full context, we dropped our dog at 9:00AM at the place and picked her up at 3:30PM, for a total of 6.5 hours. The owner is claiming that the wound does not look "fresh" enough to be caused by them. With a 6.5 hour window, I am not sure how "fresh" the wound have to be in order for the owner to start taking responsibilities. I know for a fact this happened at the business. The first time I dropped off my dog, my wife was pretty upset since she was pregnant, and it was the first time leaving our dog, but Julie didn't seem to care, she just wanted to get the dog inside the cage and get rid of us. We came back and the dog was ok, so no problems there. Last week, I had reservations for our dog to stay there again. Unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to change our plans. Guess what? Julie was pissed off! She tried to charge me for the whole weekend, and didn't care what was going on with our family situation. When I refused to pay, she blacklisted my dog and hung up the phone on me. Fortunately for us, there is more than one kennel in the Seattle metro area! I'm not exactly sure how dogs are treated when people aren't looking, but seeing how this woman reacts to life, I wouldn't leave my dog here again. Think twice before leaving your pet friends here.

I felt awful for my young dog, I should have done a shakedown visit. Even though the shop is crazy busy (deservedly so), they continue to do walk-in nail trims between 11-2. This was our first visit after switching from a place in Snohomish for convenience. I called to schedule a grooming appointment, but somewhere along the way there was clearly a miscommunication, because when I picked up my dog, he had only received a bath and brush. (And ear cleaning.) Great. No actual grooming was done. Which is what I called for when I made the appointment... It's also worth noting that they ask for a tip before you even see your dog. I tipped, assuming everything would be done and I'd be very happy. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they hadn't trimmed the hair around his paw pads or sanitary areas...basic grooming items. (I had also requested the anal gland expression and de shedding, so who knew at that point what was even done.) I called the next morning to see if I could bring him back in to have this corrected. I explained that I was not upset but understood that confusion happens. Well, there was no concern about making this right. I was told they don't offer that as a standalone service and that I'd need to book another bath appointment. What?! Giving my dog another bath two days in a row is not only terrible for my dog, but it's also unnecessary $$. So that response was surprising. After pushing a bit, they said they could "get approval" to do the standalone services if I brought him back and paid the price difference. At that point, it wasn't about the $20. The prices are all reasonable. It was about the lack of ownership and effort to make things right after they missed core parts of the service I originally requested. This was their chance to retain a new customer and they just didn't care. I chose not to bring him back because the experience left me with very little confidence in their care or customer service. I was really hoping to find a reliable local spot in Lake Stevens, but unfortunately, this isn't it.
