I use Yelp to find companies for repairs if I do not already have someone I trust for that type of work. The AC in my rental was out. The first place I called (rated 5 stars here) did show up promptly and correctly diagnosed the issue (bad blower motor) but they quoted me $1100 - which later became $1450! - to replace it. The tech told me that the furnace was severely rusted and there might be more damage from the water from the coils freezing and then thawing (the tenants ran the AC despite no cold air blowing). While he did not SAY the entire furnace needed to be replaced, his description of the amount of rust and my need to get it running quickly made me decide to replace the entire furnace for $2800. They couldn't get to it for 4 days - thankfully as it turns out!. In the meantime I had the tenant send me pictures of the furnace and I had Cool Services come out. Well, there was very little rust and Luke from Cool Services said he could get a new motor installed for $850. He also thought (as I did from the pictures) that the rest of the system was probably not damaged from the melting water. So I canceled the furnace install with the first company and had Cool Services put in a new motor. It's running fine now. The tenant is happy, the AC is happy and I ended up not spending $2000 for no reason, so I'm VERY happy. One of the most important things to me when dealing with companies, especially from a few states away, is honesty. I need to be able to trust them not to rip me of or make up repairs that are not needed. I trust Cool Services now. I don't trust the other guys.

They quoted me a price of over $900, I paid them $80 for the 10 minute service call/estimate. The plumber was very nice and professional, he showed up on time and wore a clean uniform. The lady I spoke to on the phone was nice and explained there would be an $80 charge whether work was done or not. The price for the work seemed to high, so I declined to have them do the work. I called another licensed Master plumber, he came out for no charge and quoted me the exact same work for $275. So, in the end I think Southwest offers great customer service, but their prices are extremely high. I can't say if they do good work, because I didn't use them.

Here's a heads-up about Demoss Plumbing--honestly, it felt more like "Dumass" Plumbing in my…read moreexperience. My insurance company sent them to test my plumbing system for leaks, and they reported no issues with the pressure or drain side. At the time, I didn't know much about the test they were supposed to do. They were paid to perform a hydrostatic test, but it turns out they did a flow test instead. For a hydrostatic test, they're supposed to pull a toilet--which they claimed they did in my guest bathroom, even saying they replaced the wax ring. But the original reusable rubber ring I installed years ago was still there, unchanged.Because of their report, my insurance denied my coverage. During their flow test, they also lost their test ball and mentioned they might need to dig up my yard to retrieve it. Fortunately, they got it out from the street cleanout. Since then, I've paid two other plumbers out of pocket, and both said Demoss's test was done incorrectly. One confirmed the toilet was never pulled, as they had to replace the bolts when they did it themselves and found my original rubber ring still in place. Despite this, my insurance won't cover anything because Demoss's report says they pulled the toilet.I contacted Demoss to ask if they'd correct their report, given the evidence they didn't do the proper test. They brushed it off, saying the other plumbers were just trying to discredit them--even though I didn't mention any names. The person I spoke to, James, said they wouldn't amend their statement, regardless of what happened with the toilet. Now I'm stuck with a $35,000 plumbing bill, and despite fighting with my insurance, they won't budge because of Demoss's report. I hope sharing this helps someone avoid the same frustration and months of back-and-forth with their insurance. If your insurance sends Demoss out, I'd strongly suggest getting a second opinion.

Their tech Evan diagnosed a bad expansion valve on my year-old evaporator coil and replaced it under the manufacturer's parts warranty. When that didn't fully fix it, Evan came back, zeroed in on the coil itself, and replaced the whole thing ... putting what I'd already paid toward the job. Four visits, same tech every time. Best part: when the first repair didn't hold, I told their dispatcher I'd consider a whole new system. She talked me out of it and said Evan would give me an honest assessment first. He did. Saved me thousands. They diagnose instead of upsell. Definitely recommend.

Luis got out there ASAP to assess the situation and offered to help fix the disconnect and ensure that everything was turned back on safely once the replacement AC unit was installed (which happened today). What makes Luis's support and service stand out a bit more is that once he found out that our AC company repaired the disconnect and made sure everything was fully operational (he spoke with the technician over the phone), Luis called and said that he didn't need to come out (which means he didn't have to charge us $$$ again).
