I wish I could give lower rate!!! I got my keratin hair here it cost me 500 and my hair after first wash is disaster!! The girl told me frizzy will be gone by 80% and will get silky hair!!! Now my hair is more frizzy and I add so much oil it looks very oily still I have so much frizzy hair!!! I contacted them few time and woman front desk told me the girl who did my hair ( Which I don't tell her name) is not in and she can't assist me!! I found this place next to a coffee shop I go to a lot, and saw the low prices so I decided to try it out. The stylist Keri didn't ask me what my name was, and didn't really let me make any decisions. I told her I wanted a shag and I specified I wanted regular bangs and longer layers in the back. She took control and didn't tell me that she was going to shred my bangs or cut my layers short in the back, nor did she ask me if I liked it when it was finished. My bangs are uneven and short and I ended up paying $20 more than I expected for the cut. Although the cut has slightly grown on me, I don't think I'll go to Keri again. read more

She helped me set up a follow-up appointment to fix all the issues I had with my first haircut. Carly, one of the master stylists here, did a wonderful job fixing my hair. She made sure my hair length was retained as much as possible while adding in layers and style. She was very efficient and skillful so I was in and out of the salon in an hour! I can only speak for haircuts since that's the only service I received but if you're looking to get a quick haircut I'd recommend Carly! I was paired with her because of her love for curly hair and expertise in cutting it according to the front desk. They hired a new barber named Gio to perform barber services. He just gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. He paid attention to detail and didn't miss a single hair. He helped me with a somewhat complex men's haircut including a low fade that's blended into the top on both sides and he worked with the way my hair grows specifically and performed a great haircut. I've been getting my haircut here by Keri for a few years and I always love it. I have curly hair and this last time she literally gave me the most perfect cut for my hair and face. I am even pulling off curly bangs right now, thanks to Keri. The salon is cozy and clean and the friends at the front desk who help me with scheduling (and rescheduling) my appointments are always friendly and responsive. Omg! We went to get My son a Wolf cut similar to what K pop bands have which is layered look that's been around since the 80's. I specifically called in to ask if they do/or know this style which they answered yes. After the haircut was done it looked nothing like a wolf cut my son had over 20 pictures as examples but was answered with, "I will only look at 2 photos". The hair cut he ended up was a lop chop with long thin bangs he was upset but never the less tipped $15 to be polite since the hair dresser was nice but did not seem experienced with the haircut. I called the salon asking for a redo which was scheduled the following Monday with a more exp stylist at no cost (that's what salons are expected to do) I was also advised the manager would call me but no one called me. The day before the apt they called my son to inform him we would need to pay for the haircut which was contrary what I was told I called and asked again talked to manager and was told she was not available. Both the ladies I talked to was sarcastic, rude, and aggressive over the phone. I was told to hold and the receptionist got back on the phone to say "they" were canceling the apt and to come back to receive a refund. Very unprofessional service IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO A CERTAIN CUT AND STYLE BE HONEST WHEN POTENTIAL CLIENTS CALL IN. Shocked with this service in La Jolla!! Horrible experience!!! DO NOT COME HERE especially as a first time client!!! I came in for a hair consult as my original salon shutdown. I was scheduled with Carrie. She said she couldn't do color and only does cut, but indicated she can refer me to others for color in the salon. She also said she had no availability in the coming weeks and was quick to pass me to another stylist. She at the same time had a grim demeanor and expression of disgust while talking to me. She pointed out I had something in my hair which was actually a knot that she voluntarily brushed out, but went on to make a grim expression. I felt discriminated and didn't get a good vibe of the salon in general. I was then booked with Michael for a cut who was with a client at the time and no one offered for me to wait a few mins so he could quickly see my hair. Hence the next day I cancelled my appointment with Michael and all because my initial negative experience with Carrie. They lost me as a new client and they also underestimated who I am. Am going to make sure no one in my professional and personal network goes to this specific salon. When I called to cancel my appointment i did provide this very same feedback verbally to the receptionist and she said that she would convey this feedback and that is incorrect that Carrie mentioned she only cuts, as all stylists provide both cuts and color. Last time i came in one stylist gave me a haircut with uneven bottom. I had to come back to ask another stylist to fix it. This time I explained a lot that I want layers and want it thinner. In the end this is how much hair got cut off, see photo, and the entire washing cutting styling was done under 30min and I have chest long hair. I tried to argue with them but the stylist basically kicked me out by saying 'I see you had a couple of re-dos here and you should go find a salon that satisfies you.' Excuse me?????? Will never visit again and will make sure people I know don't. This stylist was Neil. He kept saying he did a great job but the left side and the right side were not even the same length. Also he bad mouthed about the salons in Convoy (where all the Asian salons are) saying those are the bottoms of all salons in terms of knowledge. You should really visit Asia and see how they treat clients in Japan. Horrible experience. One star is for they didn't charge me. They were going to tho! I asked for another person to take a look at it. I have been a loyal customer at Young Attitudes, coming every 3-4 weeks for several years. After continued increase in pricing and decline in the quality of service, I'm not planning to return any time soon and I cannot recommend this salon to others. The staff turnover at this salon now seems quite high. After two very talented stylists I loved have left in the past 6 months, I've struggled to find consistent quality of service. If you happen to overhear conversations among current staff, it's clear that they are understaffed and many that remain are not happy to be there. My latest attempt to try a different Young Attitudes stylist left me waiting in the reception area for over 40 minutes while they finished with the previous appointment. This is over 40 minutes PAST an appointment time that I had booked weeks in advance. Short, occasional delays are inevitable but this was the final straw for me. I respect that Young Attitudes is a long-standing local business, and wish them the best of luck. Personally I've just had too many negative experiences there lately, and judging by the increasingly frequent complaints I've heard at the check out counter I'm not alone. read more

My new favorite salon! First things first, my hair was definitely a "project" due to the amount of regrowth I had. I knew the condition of my hair wasn't going to be the easiest to work with, but I am in total awe with how perfect it turned out... and in ONE session! My main goal was keeping my hair healthy and long while bringing up all of the existing blonde up to my roots... and we all know how damaging lighting can be. My stylist, Neil, took the time to get to know my daily styling routine and took into consideration that I did not want a ton of upkeep. Let's just say, he is a total hair magician! Not only did we lighten all of my hair perfectly, but he managed to create a brighter, natural look that won't require me to book constant touch ups. In addition to that, haircut I received is so well fitted, I basically don't have to do anything to style it! It just falls flawlessly in place. There are angels and then there is this angel: DANIKA. My hair was ruined (see pic below). I suffer from lupus which already was causing thinning and hair loss, and then saw a different hairdresser in SD who was intoxicated and bleached my hair to destruction. After 6 months of wearing a human hair wig 100% of the time when leaving the house I finally took the step to find a new and competent person to take care of my dear beloved head of fragile hair. The stylist Danika at Young attitudes has been a saving Grace--she first of all understood the chemical hair cut and the necessity to do what it takes to preserve the integrity of the hair left. She was so kind to care for my well being, and she promised to give me an even and stable hair cut, and would help me as best she can achieve my hair goals. After great pains to keep me in an okay mood, I even cried at one point because I was scared my hair would look even worse and received a much needed hug! I was cared for not as a head of hair but as a person first with feelings and needs and hopes and goals when it comes to my personal aesthetic. Her positive attitude is contagious and her willingness to make what I came with to her seat something she would stamp her approval on when finished was a breath of fresh air. She did NOT up charge me at all and instead We set up a strict treatment plan with hair care and hair cuts all set up. She could have charged a fortune doing the hair recovery and damage control and masques and the hair dying but she kept her prices honest and compassionate. That said, every penny is beyond worth it. I can't tell you how grateful I am for her ability to focus in on the exact problems in my structural hair roots and to fix it. I am CHANGED by her kindness and her ability to take what you see in the first photo and turn/evolve it into something magnificent. I'm so happy with my hair, and we're almost done months later with removing the awful awful situationship from the prior person who ruined my hair, and I am so happy! I can meet my partners family and feel confident and classy, which is totally Danika's vibes. Last week I had the pleasure of working with hair ARTIST and stylist Olivia. Her intake process and questions she asked about my hair was unlike any other stylist I have ever worked with. She wanted to know my hair story and I felt like my hair had never been so cared for in this way, not even by me! Not a fan of writing negative reviews but feel ripped off. Went in to buy conditioner. Opened bottle of shampoo in same line to smell as it was easier to test than the squeeze bottle of conditioner. Was then asked to buy the shampoo because I was "all up in it." I did not touch product nor did I exhale on product. This was a money grab. read more
