If you need someone to do an amazing job with your nails, request Jenny! I've been getting my nails done by her for the past three visits, and she does a spectacular job with my nails. I always get acrylics or a refill done, and I am there for only 30-40 minutes (depending on what I want done that day) compared to other places I've been to where I'm sitting forever! She's very gentle with my hands, super friendly, and is flawless and immaculate in making sure my nails are as natural as possible. I can't express how talented she is in what she does. She makes sure the coat is even, the shape and length are all the same, and that my nails aren't clumpy. If you're looking for someone who does a good pedicure, Holly is the person. Jenny also does waxing. She's quick and the price is reasonable too! 10/10 would recommend. All in all, the space is rather small since it's shared amongst hair stylists yet up-to-par with COVID guidelines. My friend got married a few years back, and she had gotten her hair, makeup and kimono dressage done by Kiyoko. I emailed Kiyoko and she promptly gave me a call back. We set up my appointment. Kiyoko did an amazing job on my kimono updo. She styled my hair to flatter my facial features, and the updo was looked lovely. She is a sweet woman who takes prides in her work. Avati employs independent stylists, so appointments are made with individuals rather than the front desk. I had my appointment with Samantha. I came here on a recommendation from a friend, whose hair was well cut and highlighted, and looked beautiful! Appointments are easy to make; I called in, left a message, and Samantha (an independent stylist at Avati) called me back to make my appointment. She made sure to ask me what I wanted so she could fit me into her schedule, and I had an appointment within the week! The salon is clean and well-kept. Pop music plays in the background, and there are plenty of magazines to read if you're early for your appointment. A haircut costs $40+. It includes a wash, cut, and blowdry. I had long hair and wanted a change to a short haircut, right above the shoulders. I brought in some example photos, which Samantha analyzed. She asked some important preemptive questions about layering and length. Since I dance sometimes, I wanted it long enough to tie into a ponytail - which she took into account - and reassured me that my hair would remain long enough for a ponytail She also picked up on my nervousness, since this was my first big change, and was very considerate of that: She asked if I wanted some side bangs like the photo, but recommended that I should just come back next time if I wanted them, since I was so nervous already. She showed me what they would look like, and was helpful throughout the process whenever I had questions. Her calm demeanor definitely eased my anxiety. I ended up with a beautiful cut that I love! My haircut came out great. She listened to my likes and dislikes and gave me a great cut. The salon is nice, clean and unpretentious. No skylight in the center of the salon with bamboo growing, no water falls with exotic plants and no endless glass shelves filled with product that they are pushing. I often forget about yelp reviews unless I had an amazing experience or a horrible experience. Avati has an amazing massage therapist. Robyn's healing hands are just that, healing. Although I am sure she can give you a relaxing massage, I needed more. As a hairstylist I have serious back issues along with arm and leg. I have had numbness in my thigh for two years now, along with a severe burning over my knee. Did the PT thing with no improvement. I knew I needed to find a massage therapist who is an expert at a therapeutic massage to correct the nerve impingement. I saw Robyn twice so far and received immediate results. Still need to continue in order to fully correct the problem, but I finally found someone that gives me results. No more burning. She knows exactly what she is doing. Thank you Robyn. read more

I've been wanting the Emma Watson/Anne Hathaway pixie cut for months and every time I went to a salon, they made it to long and not hip/funky enough. Coleen was so excited to do the cut, she did it perfectly and worked diligently to get it right (I have a lot of hair for short hair). She did an amazing job and I love it!! She's also a great person. So fun to talk to and its not an awkward silence while she's working. The salon is small, but they're expanding. I have been seeing Bre at Avati for a couple of years now and absolutely love my hair every time I walk out the door. This last time I got the Keratin treatment (aka the Brazilian Blowout) and I LOVE it. My hair is very thick and wavy and now all I have to do is blow dry and it is nice and straight.
