I just recently purchased a chevrolet corvette and took it into Youngs Chevrolet/Fast Track in Layton UT., and paid for a full dianostics and after getting an oil change and emissions test done i was told that i needed brakes and shocks all the way around. the quote came back to me @ $2900 with the shocks being $1800 because they told me that there are NO other type of shocks available for my corvette and that i had to purchase OEM shocks!! B.S. I called the other Chevrolet dealer in town and i was quoted about $800 less. The bottom line is, i took my car into the other Chevrolet dealer this morning and they walked me around my car once they put it on the lift and guess what!! turns out that my shocks all the way around are in perfect shape and i didn't need them. Y'all avoid this dealership at all costs and believe the reviews. They wanted to give me 17,000 for my 2016Toyota Highlander (51,753 miles) for a white 2019 Chevy Suburban (93k miles) . However, I'm well aware that the year makes it old but it's also a Toyota who literally advertise that after 15 years their vehicles are still on the road but okay. After negotiating I finally got them up to 20k (even tho KBB said 22-24k) for my trade in. However, these people BOUGHT a car that had damage on the driver side wheel arch panel, rear tailgate, dents on the driver side door. But the dents on the wheel arch WAS HORRIBLE! THEN Scott and the manger told me "well since we have to spend money to make money we're going to take it $1,000 out of your trade". NO. YOU BOUGHT THAT VEHICLE WITH NOTICEABLE DAMAGES/DENTS AND YOU WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT??! Absolutely not. Also, how are you going to give me a big speech about how "we don't like to put the young names on vehicles that are not worthy of it" but then purchase a vehicle with MULTIPLE dents? Crazy if you ask me. Oh and on top of that at the very end Scott said "so we did all of that for what". After I had apologized multiple times for "wasting his time" but I did not feel comfortable making a deal that would add -11,360 (trade in, taxes, titles, and fee) to a 30,000k car. You're acting like I didn't refuse your deal multiple times and said "I will not trade it in for anything less than what I deserve". Anyways, sold my car to a different dealership who gave me 24k for my trade in WHO IS MILITARY FRIENDLY for a white 2019 Chevy Suburban with LESS MILES( 80k) and a better interest rate and payment. (REVIEW SEPTEMBER 2024) Let me tell you something, I have always had a good experience from Young, from Young Powersports to Young Subaru to Young in general. I have been to this dealership over the last 2 weeks searching for the right Tahoe or suburban that I liked. I was working with Natalie at first and she was fantastic and nice and very friendly and knowledgeable and helped me look at a few of the SUV's that I liked. They didn't have the trim that I liked so she said she would look into it for me and try to find me one. Looking for a vehicle is stressful and depressing overall and time consuming. So I waited a few weeks and then I was like I want a new SUV so I was on Facebook marketplace and saw one I liked and I decided to message the guy Colton and he was very friendly and explained the vehicle and told me that he had it in stock and everything. So I decided to I wanted to see it. I asked him what dealership he worked at and he told me Young Chevy in Layton, I told him that I was already working with Natalie and he said he knew her and to just come in, out of respect I reached out to Natalie and told her and she told me yes to go ahead and deal with him because she was not at work that day. After arriving at Young Chevy I met with Colton, he took me around to a few Tahoe, he brought two of them to me, the first one was a black Tahoe he told me that as far as he knew it was a clean title, after checking the vehicle out myself, you can see the damages for my loss and the rear on both side sides, and the passenger and driver side door, I put the VIN number and Copart system and sure enough the vehicle was in an accident before. I mentioned this to Colton and he said he did not know, or was he aware of that, but the Carfax showed a clean title. I believe him. But I also know vehicles, and I know for a fact that vehicle had damages that was not reported to the insurance companies. When the manager came out (Black Guy) I told him my frustrations and he told me in an aggressive manner that the vehicle has never been in an accident, I told him and showed him and he told me I was a liar. lol he got mad at me and walked off...... After speaking to Colton I asked Colton to take me to vehicles that he knew for sure did not have any accidents. He took me across the street to Young GMC and showed me a Chevy Tahoe high country, I test drove it, checked the Carfax myself and paid for it myself to make sure it was correct, I put the VIN number into numerous systems to make sure it was a clean title. After test driving it, I wanted the vehicle. So we decide to go across the street and make the deal. I told him what I wanted and because of the small defects on the vehicle I wanted a certain price, he told me that he will go talk to his manager to get it approved. He came back with the (The Black Manager) and he told me that his manager wanted to talk to me, after I explained my concerns about the first vehicle that obviously had damage to it, that they were trying to sell me, and then the current vehicle that I did like, had minor stuff on the vehicle that need to be fixed, I told him I want the vehicle for for a reduce rate. He told me that "he could not do that and I was crazy to think that", after I told him I will go somewhere else to get the vehicle, he got up, called me some kind of name and stormed off. He was really mad. He was very unprofessional, and he should definitely not be a manager. Colton told me he was sorry and that he tried his best. This definitely wasn't Colton's fault, he was very friendly and honest throughout the whole situation. But that manager was terrible, and he should not be a manager at all. I lost respect for Young Chevrolet. read more

Wish I could give Young multiple 1 star reviews from each shady and dishonest experience. Update 2024 - Figured with some time and the turnover in the car industry things might have changed. I was wrong. Went in this weekend and found a truck that was 90% of what we were looking for. Young and AFCU was doing a deal that if you buy a car by today you got 5 years of maintenance and 1 year of gas. At the final hour we agreed on a price due to the price plus the maintenance and gas got us at the out the door price we wanted to be. (Well we were still $500 off, but close enough). We decided to do the deal. As I was about to sign the final paperwork the Sales Manager came in and said "Oh we probably forgot to mention, to get you that price you don't qualify for the $1,200 in gas". Not only did they "forget to mention" they factored it into the deal to get us to say yes today. Classic 'Bait and Switch' at the final hour. Based on previous experiences, this is just how Young Chevrolet does business. Promises one price and then changes the terms either right after service or as your pen touches the paper. When I shared my previous experiences with the manager, he said "let me call the GM to see what we can do". He walked out and returned 30-60 seconds later saying "sorry we can't do the price we promised and the gas". There is no way he was able to call the GM in that time, let alone explain the situation I had just shared for an opportunity to make it right. It's fine you can't do the deal, but you don't need to lie, cheat, and scam a person to hopefully get lucky they didn't notice. Do yourself a favor and slow down the deal at Young and double check the fine print. Better yet, just stay away and save yourself some time and thousands of dollars. Added a picture of the deal for visibility - They will honor these promos IF they can add the price of the deal to your car. If they lower the car price you lose the deal. 1 or the other ------Previous Review---------- 3rd times the charm. This is my 3rd experience with Young and each is as bad as the other. Young is greedy, insensitive, and manipulative. 1st time we found our dream car and priced it out using our GM discount. Young added an extra couple thousand dollars. We had GM corporate call them to tell them the price, but still didn't budge. 3 days later they called to honor the price but it was too late. We already bought another car. 2nd time was a service appointment for our Jetta. Uber offered a GM discount for a $30 synthetic oil change. Service said they would honor. After the work was done they charged me $60 saying "we didn't have the cheaper synthetic in stock". Even though they quoted me $30. This time was supposed to be a FREE service from GM for a new car purchase. However due to Covid, it was 3 weeks past the 2 year mark. I called Murdock and they said they would honor it. Young would not, but they 'already started the work'. In exchange they said they would do the service for $60. When I went to pay, my bill was almost $90. Terrible company that does not put the customer first ever. 3 times, 3 different situations, 3 different employees/managers, and each time the same outcome. A greedy approach that strong arms people to paying a little more then agreed upon. Young is the perfect example of a 1960s used car salesmen. Absolutely Horrible Experience Stay Far Away from Young Chevrolet of Layton I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Young Chevrolet of Layton was so appalling I feel compelled to warn others. I brought my truck in to get a transmission quoted. They charged me $370 just to tell me I needed a new transmission--no problem, I expected a diagnostic fee. Then came the nightmare. I spoke with Rachel, who told me the transmission was on backorder and there was no estimated timeframe for when it would arrive. I called the very next day to cancel the order, only to be told I would be charged a $500 stocking fee for canceling a backordered part that hadn't even shipped. So essentially, I was backed into a corner: pay $870 to get my truck back untouched, or move forward and let them do the work. To make matters worse, I live in an hour way, and was told I would have to physically drive down to pay in person. Rachel claimed they don't accept personal checks or debit cards and that I would be charged a 2% card fee if I used a credit card all of which turned out to be either misleading or completely untrue as they do accept debit card payments. In the end, I paid $9,000 to get my truck back! Not once did I feel like I was treated with honesty, professionalism, or basic decency. The communication was awful, the policies were confusing at best (and shady at worst), and the whole process felt like a money trap. I would not recommend this shop to anyone, EVER! Do yourself a favor and take your business anywhere else. There are plenty of reputable mechanics out there--this is not one of them. read more

DO NOT BRING IN FOR SERVICE Went in for a check engine light, P1174, which I had replaced everything but the plugs, and it wouldn't go away. They had my vehicle for 2 days, charged $265 claiming it was "fixed." Next day, low and behold the light comes back on. Now the service department isn't returning my calls, AND they left my entire intake loose, INCLUDING losing the air box bolt. So not only was I now driving around with loose parts under the hood, but I was robbed $265 for something they did not fix. VERY unsafe work performed, dishonest people. Stay clear from this place. They are nice up front, but shady with their work. read more

This truly is one of the worst dealerships I've ever had to encounter. Having worked in the industry and worked in the service department, I have first-hand knowledge of processes. First off I've had to use this company not because I want to service a personal vehicle, but have used this dealer because our commercial fleet needed to be serviced at the Chevy dealership in this location was closest for convenience. Over the course of the last year each time I have had to call to make a service appointment, I've gotten hung up on put on hold, The staff does not seem to know what's going on and they have constant errors in their scheduling program. Nothing is more infuriating for a business owner to show up for their appointments and be told that the appointment is not in the system and that you will have to reschedule for another day. This takes time away from employees to be productive. The last time our vehicle was serviced, it technically was not serviced, we paid for the service we picked up the vehicle at the end of the workday, and found that the tires never were rotated, the tire pressure monitoring sensors were not reset, and pulling the dipstick out of the engine found that the oil was still dirty. It does not seem to matter how many chances you give this service department they will always disappoint. It is far better to go to Ogden or drive down to bountiful to get your GM product serviced. Avoid Young automotive. read more

Young Chevrolet's service department could not have disappointed me more. I am a General Contractor and my truck is my work. I cannot work. If I do not have my truck. so I scheduled the two days they told me it would take to do the recall work that was needed for my vehicle. They ended up taking 9 days to complete the work. During this time I was not adequately kept in the loop. Ultimately, I had to borrow a neighbors truck for several days in order to work... I don't have the luxury of taking 9 days off work while my truck gets fixed. I had to find this truck because Young Chevrolet was only able to provide me with a truck for one day...because they sold it the next day. so the replacement car they brought to me, was not even big enough to fit my family, so it sat taking up space in my driveway the whole time. I am a business owner, and I occasionally make mistakes before that make life inconvenient for my customers... when those situations have happened, I do everything that is it in my power make sure their experience with me is not diminished...in fact in many ways people enjoy the experience even more, because people respect when you go the extra mile to do the right thing. I've put people in hotels, paid for tens of thousands of dollars out of my own pocket to cover costs so my client wouldn't have to. The most disappointing part about this whole situation is Young Chevrolet's lack of owning that they messed up and doing whatever they could to make it right. Hell, they haven't ever even acknowledged that it put me in a hard situation or apologized. And for this reason I have no respect for them. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! I bought a used Chevy Silverado 2018, my wife and I were told it was put through a rigorous inspection before they were able to sell it, giving me the impression that the truck would be reliable and not have any major problems. The first week, the truck was leaking all over our driveway and the before the end of the second week of owning the truck the transmission gave out and we had to have it towed back to the dealership. We ended up having to get a new transmission that we had to pay for on top of the new truck we bought. I had the truck towed again to a mechanic that I trust and had him install the new transmission (he had a better warranty and was about $1200 cheaper than young's quote) and check the rest of the truck. The rear shocks were also leaking fluid and needed to be replaced. DONT TRUST THEIR USED CARS! Their inspection is crap! In total I had 2 oil leaks, a transmission that lasted a week and a half and had to replace the rear shocks. It was a good looking truck but looks can be deceiving, especially when you buy from young! read more

UPDATE.... I discovered that an OFAC is not deceptive and actually is a good thing for the dealerships to do. However, the dealership trying to get me to complete a credit form to do an OFAC is absolutely deceptive. Nor does the dealership need your SSN to do an OFAC check. Young asked for my SSN as well as tried to get me to complete a credit form. The Young employees need further training around OFAC checks. The reason there is no government form for an OFAC is because all that is needed is a name. A dealership or a private seller can do a very simple OFAC check with nothing but a name. read more

We were looking for a pretty specific truck that nobody had in stock. We stopped by Young Chevy of Layton and worked with Will. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable. They didn't have the specific truck we wanted in stock, but he called us often to update us on one they had that was stuck in transit. Once it came in, he made sure to take good care of us. New scam for Young Chevrolet.  Sent my car in for a mandatory recall replacement of an air bag.  Said it would be done by 5 but held over till the next day.  What really frosted me was they then said the battery was dead and it wouldn't start and I needed a $261 replacement.  The car was running PERFECTLY till my wife took it in for an airbag replacement.  My wife who is 71 would have caved and bought an unneeded and very expensive battery when all she needed was a replaced airbag.  Scare tactic to sell an unneeded battery to an older person just because they could.   Couldn't make any money off the air bag recall so they manufactured a dead battery scare.  Shame on you. read more

Recently bought a pickup truck at the Layton location. It has been a nightmare experience! We were told it had the trailering package. It did, but NOT the standard trailering package. We found that out AFTER the purchase! That information was not disclosed at time of sale. The truck was not what we wanted or thought we were getting!!! THEY REFUSED TO WORK WITH US ON THEIR FAILURE TO DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION. They did offer to take the truck back as a trade-in FOR $2200 less than the purchase price we had paid one week prior! RIP OFF!!! In addition, the financial guy and managers were SUPER, EXTREMELY pushy and tried to add on over a thousand dollars of extra charges we did not want or need, including "trim"charges, a gap package, and theft protection. They pushed super hard and tried to go thru paperwork really fast so we would not notice those charges. Felt like another total rip off. We would never go back to Young Chevrolet if they were the last dealer on the planet. Have had much better experiences at EVERY other dealer we have EVER worked with. read more

We told her the we would be driving from Spanish Fork to Layton and didn't want to make the long trip if they didn't have it. She assured us it was there. We made the drive and when we got there she said.. didn't you get my email, I told you its been sold. We told her that we don't check our email while driving. We said ok if its just now been sold we'd still like to take s look at it since we drove all this way. After some run around we were told the new owner already left with it. There is absolutely no way the paperwork and delivery could have happened. We asked for the manager and he apologized but thats not good enough. They need to be held accountable. I set up an appointment for service, called to add more mechanical items that needed repair and the smart-ass assistant couldn't even find the scheduled time. Once I dropped off the vehicle, I wait for a call for 6 hours that didn't happen, call to find out what the status of mechanical issues and they don't show any record of the vehicle being in their service department. On hold for 15 minutes, expect a return call for an update, doesn't happen. I live 30 miles from dealership and do not have a ride home from work today. Young obviously could care less or even figure out if I still have a truck, because they don't know where it is. Don't make the same mistake I did in doing business with Young Chevrolet. read more

Won't be returning, nor would I recommend anyone use Young's service center. Multiple issues with my first time there. Made an appointment for early morning on a Friday, was told they would look at it same day by the guy who scheduled me, since it was there so early in the day. They pushed it through the weekend. Messaged the service advisor politely first thing Monday morning to confirm they'd look at my car that day. She confirmed. At 2:20pm on Monday I get an update that they still haven't gotten my vehicle in and that "they'd update me before the end of the day". At this point, I knew there was no way I was getting even the initial diagnostic done any time soon. And I felt jerked around after having been pushed back once already. They did attempt to get my car in for the diagnosis after I had raised complaint that it was supposed to have been looked at on Friday. They apparently couldn't reproduce the problem lights I was getting on my dashboard, and yet when I pulled it off the lot, like magic, there they were. Staff did not seem knowledgeable on what was causing my issue, and I had zero confidence in them actually being able to fix it (I knew what codes were in my system, and repeatedly told the service advisor). So I just went and picked it up. I will be fixing it myself or taking it elsewhere. read more

I realize the young lady is just an employee there so not upset with her, but she was burdened with the task of telling me their deposit to hold vehicle until I drove up there was $1,000 "non refundable!" But, it could be used as in-store credit. I said nothing. But thought, so, if I really don't wish to buy the car, I could buy 100 Chevrolet jackets. Then, after checking on some vehicle stats and price questions, the price went from $40k to 42k because I was an out of state resident! What an ordeal. After coming here FOUR times in six weeks (each time being told my issue with my check engine light was fixed) they finally did the necessary repairs. It was obvious they were avoiding doing the warranty work at all costs (because it was going to COST them!) Burke Tice was so unhelpful. He was my service writer the first 3 times. I always thought that this next time would be the time that his promises of the issue being fixed would come through. Finally, the last time I dropped it off for service, it was Jeremy Bishop that helped me. Jeremy did a great job. He kept in contact with me, and the experience with him was 10 times better than with Burke. It was obvious that this time Chevy was actually going to TRY to honor their powertrain warranty and really look into the problem instead of giving some BS excuse for why it was having problems and do some minor tweak like changing the oil (Burke once blamed my problem on a bad oil change at a competing dealer). The last time I dropped it off, the problem was fixed (to my knowledge @ this point... who knows.) but it did take some time (almost 3 weeks). I understand though, not all parts are going to be available at all times, and there's lots of vehicles to work on and diagnose every day. Luckily, I FINALLY was able to be given a loaner vehicle. My overall experience was a very bad one at Young Chevy. From the first time I took my car in to diagnose a check engine light to the day I finally got it back (seemingly) fixed, two months had went by. And by no means should it take 4 trips here to get warranty work done & my car fixed. If my story ended here, it would already be a poor experience, but it does not. I got my vehicle back from Young Chevy on Tuesday, 5/29. I immediately noticed some things were missing in my car. Several phone charger, sunglasses, etc. I figured that a mechanic likely snatched them. I was annoyed, but didn't want to deal with a return trip to this dealer after all I'd already been through with them. Then, on Friday, 6/1, I discovered a fraudulent check made out to someone I've never heard of before. This is when I remembered earlier in the day that I left my car @ Chevy (May 11) I had brought my checkbook along because I had needed it. I put it in my glovebox and forgot about it. Well, at this point I realized my car had been broken into while at Young Chevy. A check had been made out in my name for a large sum of money, sunglasses, and chargers were all taken. I went back to Young Chevy, they apologized, but just told me they didn't have cameras or anything, didn't know the name of the person the check was made out to, etc. They gave me some info involving another break in at the Young Kia dealership around the same time. Can I just say, how does such a large dealer not have ANY security cameras of their lot in this day and age? Also, if they don't know this person the check was made out to or think it may be a mechanic's girlfriend, etc. then this means my car was obviously left UNLOCKED for someone to simply open the door and steal my stuff. Unacceptable. Todd Barker, the service manager, came out and pretty much just told me I was out of luck, and hopefully the police can help me. I understand these things happen, but I would hope to get a little more service especially after the ordeal I had already went through with these clowns. Next time I need work done, whether it's more warranty work or an oil change, I won't be coming here unless it's my last resort! read more

Watch out for this dishonest dealership. They will sneak in LoJack on your car purchase even if you decline the product. It's a $399 charge which the put on every car even if you reject it. Apparently they put it on cars they buy to track the vehicles and they sneak it into your contract. I declined the product five times and it still was included. read more

I have now been waiting for my car for 2 hours and 45 minutes and I was just told another 20 minutes So my 45 minute appointment will be at least a 3 hour oil change....... If i could give a half star I would and they would only get the half because they were not rude this far but I do not like being mislead. If I had know it was going to be an all day thing I would have went elsewhere - just be honest people. 2+ hours additional is unacceptable and I bet you they did not give me the complimentary detail package read more

Sent all parts for mirror repair as agreed and split the cost of a spare key(very expensive) trade value on my exterra was acceptable and purchase price of mercedes was within book value range, actually a really nice car. I normally don't have a problem with Young Chevrolet in fact that's where I take my vehicles to get fixed because I know they do quality work. This time however I took my truck in and they quoted me a price of almost $600 to fix a power steering leak that should have only been about a 30-minute job to pop the line off put a new seal on it and put the line back in. Instead of doing that they quoted me to replace both power steering lines at almost $400 for the parts when I can get the parts elsewhere for 50 bucks for both lines and $200 labor. I thought this was completely ridiculous. I ended up finding another shop where they quoted me the same job for both lines parts and labor for under $200. I understand they are a dealership amd are more pricey but I find it absolutely ridiculous that they would charge that much. This is the last time i will take my vehicle there. read more

BEWARE!!! I would never work with the Young dealership and especially not with the salesman Tyson. When discussing the trade in for our truck he asked what I would estimate its value at. I said about $20k. He said its value was at most $13k and that they could only offer me around $9k. We were eventually able to negotiate for them to pay us $12,100. All the while everyone at the dealership was saying that they were going to lose money on our trade in. A week later I looked to see if they had posted my truck. They had it listed for $23,000! The only reason we traded our truck or even bought a car was because we believed we were getting close to what it was worth. I called Tyson about it, but he refused to take any responsibility for his actions. After a bunch of back and forth I was able to speak with a manager named Jake. He heard me out and said they could sell me my truck back, but only if I bought it for $13,000 PLUS TAXES AND REGISTRATION!!! I asked them to sell me my truck back for the amount I received for it, but they refused. I will never do business with this company again and would caution anyone else who is considering buying a vehicle from them. read more

Salesman by the name of Greg said he could give us a Chevy Colorado for $20,000, we then proceeded to try and close a deal and he marked it up for $24,980 trying to convince us that this is deal when it is well beyond sticker price. He left out many details about the truck and was overall very unhelpful. He was not attentive and he was very slow. The service was not great at all and overall not impressed. Do not trust or do business with this company at ANY of their dealerships. You will be told whatever it takes to make that sale. I am in the throes of my fourth month in a car they sold me with transmission, electrical, lock actuator, fuel economy issues, and now a windshield that allows water to pour into the cabin.
