My husband and I went to a dealership looking for a particular vehicle they had on their website. When we got there, they said the car wasn't on their lot, but they found it at their sister dealership about 20 minutes away. While we were discussing the car, they told us it had just sold, so they started showing us other vehicles on their lot. They also took our keys so they could give us an appraisal on our trade in. We waited in the lobby for a long time when a manager came up and said the person who took our keys went home and they couldn't find them. He told us to test drive some cars while we were waiting, but when we declined, he miraculously found our keys seconds later (in his pocket). Needless to say, we grabbed our keys and walked out. We found the car at the sister dealership (that was supposedly sold) and took it for a test drive. I like the service department, but I'll never purchase a vehicle here. Sold an unsafe vehicle and refuse to help!DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. They sold me an unsafe car with a busted transfer case, faulty O2 sensors, and four mismatched tires with different tread on each of them. I only discovered these issues when the vehicle started making a dangerous, weird noise. It has now been 4 months, and management completely refuses to work with me to make this right. When I expressed my concerns, they literally told me that I "have to keep the car even if [I] don't feel safe. Because you bought an used car, and used car sometimes have issues" They do not care about customer safety or selling reliable vehicles. Save yourself the nightmare and go absolutely anywhere else. I flew from Seattle to buy a car here. The salesperson and his manager went above and beyond. They were clear and helpful. They were willing to work out all the numbers ahead of time. The finance manager picked me up from the airport and got all paperwork done smoothly. When we had a titling hiccup because I was out of state, and Kia finance didn't get the title, one of their business managers helped me over text and got everything straightened out in a few days. Very professional and very courteous. I was a customer who was long gone but they still took care of me. I usually don't leave reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about the service department at Young Kia in Layton. I've been a loyal Kia customer and bought a brand new 2023 Kia Sorento from them in December 2023. Recently, I had to tow my car in due to a coolant leak from road debris. I handed the keys to Larry, was told nothing else was needed, and left. The next day, I called for an update and was told they didn't have my car. It had been sitting untagged and unlocked for over 24 hours--no one knew it was there, and no one could locate the keys. I was treated like I was bothering them for trying to locate my vehicle. No service managers were available (none work Saturdays), so I spoke with Jared from sales. He was helpful and said he'd investigate. He called back saying Zach had the keys in his pocket the whole time--unmarked. What really concerned me was that my Kia Connect app had been notifying me all weekend of people getting in and out of my car. I feared it was being misused or driven without permission. On Monday, they finally began work. I was told it might be done by 5 p.m., but they wanted to keep it overnight for "quality assurance." On Tuesday, I got a call saying it was out for a car wash and would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived, the "car wash" turned out to be just tire shine. There was still bird poop, bugs, and coolant residue everywhere. My Kia Connect trip history showed the car never left the lot. Then came the unsettling and unethical part. Zach decided to include a note on my invoice saying the electrical clips on the passenger side looked like they'd been worked on elsewhere and "melted back together." I asked him not to document speculation as fact, especially something that could affect my warranty. He got combative, brought up irrelevant service history, and started criticizing a past oil change I had done there. It felt personal and unprofessional. Also worth mentioning--there was fresh paint damage along the seams of my bumper from what looked like a flathead prying it off, and my skid plate was reinstalled poorly, with visible gaps. I had just dealt with road debris damage and now I'm worried about more issues down the line from this sloppy work. To top it off, they marked an oil change as completed, but the service light on my dash was never reset, which makes me question whether it was done at all. I've referred friends, family, and coworkers here before, but I won't again. The customer service was dismissive, careless, and defensive. We arrived at 9am, we had found a car online that we wanted to look at. When we gave the stock number to the salesman, he told us he would go get it and bring it out for us to test drive. Came back 5 minutes later and told us he didn't really like that car because it was having problems w a rotator (or something). Continued to tell us that the car was in fact in the shop and tore apart and no way we could look at it. He then began to offer us another car- according to him less mileage where the warranty won't almost be up- like the one we were looking at. To which I responded, "will it be in our price range?" He asks what monthly payment we are interested in, I stood firm in that we were more concerned w the total out the door price. He was smooth, he was really trying to be convincing, but I'm a stick to your gut person and I want having any of it. I politely told him my husband and I wanted to settle things w our credit union before a purchase- anything to get outta there! He told me they offer all the financing w our credit union blah blah blah. I'm glad we left as soon as we sat down! It was just too odd. Why would you list a car online and then not show it and say it isn't ready? I felt it was clearly a push to get us to buy something brand new and finance w them- this is how they make the most money. Also asking me Qs like what do I want me monthly payment to be, and why am I looking into a car etc etc it's all just info gathering to push us into things. Customer service is atrocious. Attention to detail is far from up to par. They screwed up my wife's paperwork on her car so bad that the state of Utah was sending us letters revoking our registration. They did all the paperwork on an entirely different vin and year model car. Apparently the 7 months she was driving it we were at risk as the entire time the car was technically uninsured as we had insured the vehicle they gave us paperwork on. When we finally figured out what was happening my wife reached out to Young Kia and spoke with someone on their finance department who said he would get it taken care of right way. We never got a call back from that person. Next she called them back 3 days later and spoke to the new car sales manager whom also neglected to call her back. Then she called again and spoke with Chris the used car sales manager and a finance person who again promised to get right on it and call her back. Big shocker here folks... they did not. So then the following week I called and spoke with Dallin Brasheres the General Manager of the entire dealership who was completely unaware of the situation even though my wife had tried time and time again to get help. He then told me the same story of how he would look right into it and call us back. Remember, all this time we were unable to drive the vehicle because the registration had been revoked. Dallin didn't even offer a loaner I had to push for a loaner car so my wife would be able to get to work and back. They initially wanted to put us in a small compact car which again I had to push to get a like as sized vehicle to the SUV we purchased. We went in to pick the loaner car up and not Dallin or any of the other people we had asked for help even bothered to come talk to us. Dallin had assured me he would see to it that they paperwork was fixed and that it would happen quickly. Another shocker the first week came and went and zero communication. Week 2 came and went and zero communication. Week 3 came and went and zero communication, week 3 came and went and zero communication. This pattern of zero effort and communication went on for a staggering 7 weeks!!! Tops notch customer service that is! It likely would have gone even longer had I not decided that we were tired of not being able to drive the car we were making payments so I reached out to Dallin to see what the hell was going on. Again their stellar customer service shined through when Dallin, and Chris had zero recollection of what I was talking about until I told them the whole story again. Another shocker absolutely nothing had been done. At this point I told Dallin via text if I was able to I wanted out of the car. To which he replied after all of this horrible customer service "ok". Yep that's all he said. I have purchased 3 vehicles from Young Kia to the tune of about $130,000 and they clearly don't give a crap about me or my business. After me finally having enough and telling them how horrible this experience had been and them finally getting the paperwork fixed we had to go in and resign the docs. Dallin didn't even come down to apologize. I literally asked the Sales manager who re-did our paperwork if the Young Groups plan for this whole situation and all of our inconveniences as well as the liability we had while driving the vehicle that technically was not even registered or insured due to Young Kia's serious errors was to just walk us out the door. She even said she was surprised that Dallin didn't come down to see us or do anything for us. She then said she would talk to him as she also thought it was unacceptable, and that she or Dallin would be in touch that day. Guess what folks, I didn't hear from either of them. That customer service that they say they are so proud of and that they value so much and that their sales team shows you when you walk in the doors to purchase the vehicle stops the moment you drive off the lot. We took our brand new Kia EV9 in for warranty repairs 2 months ago, and we were just informed today that it would be at least another month before they can get to it! They gave us a loaner that is much smaller, much lower end and not EV so we have to buy gas. 3 months and all they say is they have to continue to wait before they can get to it. Will we ever get it back? Who knows, but 3 months is not acceptable. And they aren't waiting for parts and they aren't working on it. They say they just have to wait for Korea to get back to them. I'm not sure where these bad reviews are coming from, but they were wrong! This is the absolute best Kia dealership I've ever visited. I haven't had the chance to use their service due to living a 12 hour drive away, but I wouldn't hesitate. We worked with Madi, Jennifer, and Nate. I saw a Ceramic Silver 2023 Kia Stinger GT2 and just had to have it. We contacted them, discovered there was NO MARKUP, and immediately started making plans. When we got there, Jennifer picked us up from the airport, and we had a great conversation on the way there. They were super helpful and friendly. Unlike the 6 California Kia dealers we went to, Young treated us like they have the privilege to sell us a car and not vice versa. We drove it back to CA from Utah, and I noticed what looked like condensation on the instrument screen and HUD, but it had actually warped. They paid for its repair, no questions asked. I let them know this was my dream car and that I didn't feel comfortable with the work the CA Kia dealer did on it. They were so understanding and, as a result, traded out the Ceramic Silver for an Ascot Green Tribute Edition (we did an actual trade). That process was even smoother than the first car! The care packages they sell ACTUALLY have value like window tint (Llumar, my family is full of EASTMAN scientists so BIG deal for me), front PPF, LoJack, and an incredible wheel warranty. I also got a hat, Kia thermo cups, and these delicious brookie cupcake cookies. I had such an incredible experience with Young Kia that I'd happily buy another car from them regardless of the state I reside. Thanks y'all, keep being the best. Minus Larry in the service department, the employees are very nice; unfortunately their communication is terrible. We brought our car in on 6/30/23 at 8:20am to get our AC line replaced (in our 3 year old Kia Forte that's been having AC issues for two years now). We were told they would call us later in the afternoon to give us an estimated completion time so we could pick up. We live all the way down in Murray but drive it up here for service because the Salt Lake Kia sucks, so we have to take the bus/frontrunner/trax to get to and from the dealership when picking up our only car. We got a call at 3:30pm from the dealership letting us know the car would be done in another hour/hour and a half. We got there at 4:30pm, thinking at most we'd be waiting another half hour. Upon arrival, the guy at the service desk said they were (and I quote) "almost done" and that they were "finishing up". Finishing up meant we waited there for two hours. We didn't get our car until 6:30pm, and during the two hours we sat in the lobby, no one updated us once. The time before this that we dropped our car off to them, my husband dropped it off in the morning, and they told him they would call him later to discuss a pickup time. He waited all day and never received a call, and we ended up having to pick up our car the next morning because we never received any communication that it was finished. Spoke with someone who said he wasn't sure if they were going to sell the car or send it to auction, but he would check and get right back. Never heard from him. He said he would have to check about the "going to auction" situation because he had no knowledge of that. He texed back about an hour later.....no phone call, just a text. I spent over $50,000 on a certified pre-owned electric vehicle. They told me that the prior owner took the charging cable, and that I would have to replace it on my own. They also sold me the car with 50 mi worth of battery charge. What was most irritating was that I later found out that the "prior owner" was the sales person selling the car (Mason), so it was in fact him who took the charging cable. The finance person did arrange for a new cable after I complained to him separately. Lastly, they told me they could sell me a level two charger at "cost" for $750. A quick Google search revealed that this is hardly the price at cost. The car is great, but this is a dishonest dealership. I would specifically avoid buying from Mason Cooper or Matthew Laramore (Another review below questions Mason's honesty suggesting consistent behavior). Also waiting for a second key that was promised to me... $50k and one key! read more

I would love nothing more than to give a positive review of Young Automotive group. Unfortunately, I cannot do that. Here is why in December of 2024, I purchased a used 2018 Buick Enclave from Young Kia in Layton. During the test drive I noticed the engine light was on, I also noticed that the tire pressure sensor for the front right tire was not working. But the vehicle met my needs price, size and features. I told the salesman that I would be willing to purchase the vehicle provided that the check engine issue was repaired and the tire pressure senser was repaired. It turned out the Check Engine light was caused by a faulty Catalytic Converter. The dealership agreed to fix the problems if I purchased the car. A week later the vehicle was still not fixed. So, I escalated to the sales manager and the general manager. After two weeks I was told the repairs were complete and I could pick up the Buick. I gave them my trade and picked up the Buick. By the time I got home with the vehicle it was obvious the repairs had not been done. It had been two weeks and nothing had been repaired. They came and got the vehicle and left me a loaner car. Two more weeks have gone by and still the Buick is not repaired. It had been a month since we had worked out the deal. They had my trade and still had the Buick. I had car payments and a loaner car. They offered to work out a deal on another vehicle with me. Eventually I worked out a deal on a newer model Chevy Equinox. The Equinox was about $5,000.00 more expensive. They gave me what I paid for the Buick as trade in value on Chevy. But I had to pay dealer prep fees again, as well as Doc fees, license and registration fees, inspection/emissions test fee. All of which I had paid on the Buick that I never actually received. In addition, I had paid $399.00 for Kahu 2-year term (LoJack) for the Buick that I never received. Notice I paid $35.00 for the state inspection on the Buick. It is illegal for a dealership to sell a car in Davis County that has not passed emissions. A vehicle will not pass emissions with a faulty Catalytic Converter. So, I paid over $1,400.00 for taxes, registration and services on a vehicle I never received. To be fair I should also mention that the sales Manager did provide us with a $200.00 Amazon gift card for our troubles. read more

I helped my sister (who has cognitive issues at her older years), get a car by co-signing with her. At first, the sale department was all about reaching out - showing so much respect. The salesman, "Mark" was very kind but he never went to bat for us (I say us because I am on the title / loan too). Mark said he would do his best to get a lower figure. That never happened! The ONLY problem I really had with this place - that turned this into a complete terrible experience, was the person that the sales department reports to, when settling on an out the door price. I didn't get his name, but he came across with the ugliest arrogance - like he was the center piece of the business. He strutted in like he was a macho-man - thinking his size should intimidate others. What a POS! Maybe his tight-fitting clothes made him on edge?? He fought like hell to not sell the car (when negotiating), and had it not been for my sister having her heart set on this particular car, I would have told this big ox to keep the car because he apparently wanted to keep it awfully bad!! I later received an email from one of the managers - following up on the experience, and I explained the disappointment in very good detail. (Never heard anything in return). It's very clear, this is a business, and the objective is to stay in business by making money. But there should be a line drawn to the point of sacrificing customers over making the big dollar!! I purchased a new GMC Duramax 3500 in 2021 through Ken Garff in Riverdale. That was a very positive process - no pressure, no hidden fees, and absolutely no negative customer service. (This will make me do more business with them). Layton Kia will never get a glance from me on my own - nor will I refer anyone to them. WHAT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Turns out this was a blatant lie. both are only 48 month or 50k miles. I bought the car based on this great warranty. Also I told the sales man that I wanted no extra's. I took my 2011 Volkswagen tigua to the young Volkswagen service department due to that I purchased this car in March and it needed to be looked at due to an engine light. After 3,500 they told me that it should run perfect and they would guarantee their work that yet it still had the timing belt that needed to be looked at in the future. Had the car for one week, broke down two blocks from their service in Layton. That cost me another $1,500. Had it for one day and the engine light came on again and we had it scanned that the 302 and 304 were misfiring. Have them take it back and they said oh it's going to cost another $700 to clean out the carbon on 302 and 304. When speaking to their service employee Brandon he always had an argument to give me I find him extremely arduous. Brendan needs some serious training and customer relationships. Hailey the receptionist at Young has more poise genuine customer service training top notch. Haley needs to give Brandon some lessons and customer service. Never will I recommend young service to anyone. It's all about the money. Not the actual repair and pleasing the customer to enjoy his vehicle. They do not stand behind their work. We drove an hour each way and half a tank of gas (at $5+ per gallon) to be told there was not one there and that they can't even be ordered right now. What a joke! Bought my first new car from Young kia in layton Ut. It has been nothing short of a nightmare. They played games for over a week getting financed. Letting me drive it home hoping I would fall in love with it and pay 12 % interest on it. I was pre approved from cap one for less than that So they tried adding more than doubling the interest points.After the week they told me they couldn't find me a better deal. I told to take the car back .I told them Honda gave me the quoted interest i was pre approved for .Told them I wanted my down payment back when I get there. SUDDENLY we get a call back that the gm got us a good deal from kia finance. At a better rate than we expected.Weird right.Also half priced gap. They were trying to screw us over .Only when caught did they fix it. Service. They gave me the car with messed alignment. It chewed up my tires under 10k miles. Did not replace my tires.They did alignment. I had to buy new tire because they threatened my warranty. Awd cars have to have marching tires. Not fair. They gave me a screwed up car. Now I cant get my trim fixed. It came off during a thunderstorm. Just holding on. Not impressed at all.Hardly any glue holding it on. After waiting a week plus for an appointment. They took pics. Said they needed approval. I will get a call back.Seemed clear warranty to me but ok Now over 2 weeks later.After countless calls. Nothing.They ghosted us. Not even the respect to call us back. NEVER WILL I BUY FROM THEM OR ANY YOUNG AUTOMOTIVE GROUP AGAIN ! read more

If you expect customer service, do not purchase a vehicle from this location. As soon as we signed the paperwork, walked out the door, we were dropped. Tried getting hold of our salesperson for over a week. No returned calls. After 2 weeks finally got hold of the sales manager. We were trying to schedule a time to bring the car back in for agreed upon repair items. After a month, finally was able to schedule the vehicle (still never heard from salesperson) They have now had the vehicle for almost 2 weeks. Have tried contacting service department. Stayed on hold forever and gave up. Wouldn't be surprised that they haven't started on the car. read more
