I went in to Dr. Youngs office to get a cleaning and an exam. When I was done he said my teeth were in good condition, and I had no cavities. A few weeks later I was having pain in my mouth and went to another dentist. They informed me that I had 4 cavities, and one was going to need a root canal. I don't understand how he missed that! Just got my yearly dental cleaning and feel like my insurance is getting ripped off. I was in there for like 15 mins. HORRIBLE job.

Dr. Young has been my dentist for the past 8 years when I moved back to Stockton. He was also my dentist when I lived in Stockton from about 1977 to 1988. I get my teeth cleaned twice a year but I remember seeing him once when my cap fell off why flying from Tampa FL to Sacramento airport. I was visiting my family in Stockton. My brother drives from Fresno to get his teeth cleaned by Dr. Young. He has done that for 20+ years. Dr. Young is funny and very personable. I walked in on a Monday in April without an appointment and he and his staff were kind and squeezed me in. I was in a lot of pain and found out it was unrelated to my teeth. Called this morning for tooth pain and was able to get in same day. I have an impacted wisdom tooth that broke my molar and I have put off care due to fear, kids etc. Dr. Young was friendly and efficient, made me feel at ease and got it done quickly. Was in an accident and unable to call to reschedule after confirming the morning of my appointment. was in an accident and my mind wasn't right o call them at that moment of the morning. So please be aware that they will charge you $50 dollars for a missed appointment. Which is cool however, when calling confirm appointment every time I am seen there it was never mentioned. No second chances if it's out of your control. Nice guy but this is unbelievable. They stated that it was on my paperwork when i filled out my new patient form. They do not have this info as you can see from other reviews. It's hard to find a good dentist and I'm disappointed to say the least. I wish I would have read reviews prior to this. Dr. Young has been our family dentist for a long time. He can be trusted to give you a honest assessment and take care of your cleaning personally, rather than handing off all the work to an assistant. He won't advise unnecessary treatments like a lot of dentists do. There's also almost no wait time when you come for your appointment. The staff are prompt, professional and friendly. When I had extreme pain and needed a root canal, or other times when my tooth chipped, Dr. Young squeezed me in. I really appreciated that! The office decor is stuck in the dreary 1980s but I can tolerate it couple times a year. read more

This was my second visit to Dr. Young. I first brought my foster son here and then my other foster son after my first visit was very pleasant. The staff are very kind, helpful and professional. The appointment was easy to schedule and I did not have to wait months like other offices I called for appointments. Because I have foster children they only have Medi-cal and Dr. Young's office accepts Medi-cal pt's. I was happy with how they treated my children and they filled out paperwork also that I needed. Dr. Young is old school, is very nice to the kids and straight to the point he doesn't beat around the bush. Your child either has a cavity and needs work or doesn't. You don't have to worry about being sold anything that you do not need like other offices. My kids were in and out. Do not waste your time going here. I have been having toothache and knew exactly which teeth were giving me a problem, after extensively googling I called and explained that the tooth was bothering me and I was aware I needed a root canal. Come the day of my appointment they call me less than 2hrs to cancel my appointment because apparently the compressor was down. They reschedule me for an appointment two days later. I come in, the dental assistant took an xray only for the bottom right side. Which I found to be unusual, upon asking if they were going to xray my whole mouth, she said they only do it on the tooth that's bothering you. Dentist comes in looks at my mouth for a minute and says I need to find a dentist to perform a root canal. I already knew that I needed that and that was what I said on the phone and the receptionist assured me the dentist will take care of it. Not telling me that they don't do root canals for medical patients. So I ask for a copy of documentation for my visit and they were hesitant to give it to me. They gave me a very shallow printout with minimal information. This is very misleading and a waste of time for someone who's in pain! Fraudulent practices. I will be contacting medical and the dentist boards to report. Do not go here!! read more

By far the best experience I've had at a dentist. I went in with pain from a tooth that needed to be pulled . They took a X Ray and next thing I New he was numbing my mouth. My wife went to this place for a tooth ache and was in major pain. She was seeing what's the best solution to either save the tooth or pull it out but in this case dr. Edward Young had his mind already set to start pulling. Not aware of his intentions of what he was going to do for all I know it was just a regular appointment but they knew in fact that she was in pain. She started explaining to him is it possible to save the tooth with a root canal and immediately he stated, "root canals cost too much money, go somewhere where they cover that." Instead of take care of the situation in a professional matter, he decided to give her his personal comments on what he thinks by telling the receptionist, "this one is over here just shopping around." What does he mean by that? Whatever the hell that means. Then he told my wife to "leave my office and if you experience any more pain, don't come back." He also told the receptionist not this one anymore, not this one anymore no more appointments for this one not even willing to help he refused to fix the problem. His solution was to pull out a tooth. Acting so rudely and more or less not treating my wife who is in excruciating pain, that is a bunch of BS! I will never go to this place again, and I don't think anyone should ever too, after what my wife has been put through. If he done this in front of me, I would of gave him my peace of mind. I have been putting off going to a dentist since I moved to Stockton 5 yrs ago . Finally I decided it was time ,I am so glad I found Dr Young ! Very nice guy , yes he is a no nonsense dentist . I had my teeth cleaned, a tooth filled and 3 broken teeth pulled in less then an hour . I was amazed at how smooth the appointment went . Dr. Young pulled a molar of mine on January 18th 2016. He was very unprofessional and rough, calling me a baby when he was giving me the shot in the roof of my mouth. The gum around the tooth was very infected at the time the tooth was pulled and had been on and off for the last year. I requested antibiotics and Dr. Young refused stating people take too many antibiotics, they're just babies. It is now March 7th and pus is still draining out of the hole where the tooth was pulled. I just got off the phone requesting the doctor to call in an antibiotic prescription and was refused. The receptionist stated I have to come in for that. Is that the reason I was refused in the first place? So that he can have another appointment fee paid? I suffer from chronic pain and fibromyalgia making it very painful to drive. It is inexcusable to ask me to return to the office for prescription I requested at the first visit. Now I continue to suffer because he didn't do his job right. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I used to be a patient about 2 years ago, and recently my wisdom tooth started to come in and I called the office and tried to schedule an appointment. The girl who answered the phone was EXTREMELY rude. She checked my file and informed me that last year in January I had an appointment to get my wisdom tooth pulled and I never showed up so before she can give me another appointment I have to pay a $90 fee. I told her that during my previous visit Dr.Young wanted to pull all my wisdom teeth out and I didn't want to, so WITHOUT my permission THEY SCHEDULED an appointment for me without telling me. Of course I didn't show up, I never knew I had an appointment. Are you kidding me??? Money hungry Dr. I explained this to the rude receptionist who bluntly said "Doesn't matter, you need to pay the fee".
