I have never written an online review, but in this case feel compelled to do so. This company is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. They source a number of catalogs and no one has the least bit of interest in helping you solve a problem. They basically process your credit card and don't care...probably because of the volume that they do. There isn't a corporate office or telephone number that you can call to address your issue! Ordered Jumbo Piano Playmat well before Christmas but upon followup on 12/19 was told it would not arrive by 12/25 so cancelled the order no charge. But then received the order on 12/22 so was told to return it unopened to sender which I did and they would credit the Playmat & the $8.99 shipping. But when I followed up in late January nothing had been done. So they agreed to then just credit the Playmat but not the shipping so I lost $8.99. They claimed they had no record of the cancellation! Just echoing all of the other (bad) reviews! Terrible customer service. Ordered a Christmas gift for my son and never received any status updates. Was not notified the item was on backorder until two weeks after Christmas (about 4 weeks after order was placed). In that email notification from them it said to reply "Cancel my order" to the email if I wished to cancel. So that's what I did. A week later I got a notification that my order has shipped! I tried to cancel the order 4 times prior to receiving their backorder notice. I don't want the item anymore!! Then I attempted to have the name and address removed using the website, only to find that Young Explorers hasn't figured how to make that available to the public. I ordered several items for my 7 and 3 year old via their website. When it came to return one of the items because it was not working the entire process became a nightmare. Firstly you have to call them as they do not respond to email then when you finally get them on the line they tell you that you're responsible for shipping the item back. They do not provide return labels. If you want to be reinbursed for shipping costs you need to fax them a copy of the invoice not email. The fax number does not work which means you have to call them back. When you get them on the line they keep you on hold for no apparent reason at which point they come back on the line only to tell you that they have to put you on hold again because they're trying to figure out why the fax isn't working. May i remind you this is 2019 what happened to email/return labels....and we wonder why Amazon is taking over the industry. I finally lose my patience and ask them to either provide me with an alternative fax and or email or to put me on the line with a supervisor. Miraculously they were able to come up with an email which I might add I haven't tried yet so who know if it's a working email address. I was so excited to give this business a try when I was unable to find the item I was looking for in stock elsewhere. Now I wish I would've given up the search before dealing with this company. I ordered my item spending about $10 more than I was seeing it advertised other places but I was willing to pay so my son could have it and in time for Christmas. I ordered and paid and extra $4.95 for expedited shipping on top of the shipping rate so my total transaction was $46.89 almost half of it was shipping costs. Again I agreed to the price because I wanted the item and I wanted it quickly. I was told the item shipped on Dec 3rd, it is now Christmas Eve 21 days later and I do not have my package. I have called twice and was blown off by customer service, I was told that if I do not receive it by January 15th I should call back. They expect me to wait a month and a half for something I paid to ship fast before doing anything about it. I was also told that since it's after Christmas I can just refuse the package and they would credit my card back for the item eventually, not the shipping but I wouldn't have to pay return shipping if I refused it. I have never been so frustrated in my life. I order online regularly and this company has the worst customer service I have encountered. I placed an order near the end of November for Christmas. The company waited 10 days to inform me they had shipped 1/2 of my order and that the rest was backordered. The only way I picked up on the backordered items was to read down through the list of shipped items. In other words, there was no formal notification. The items that were shipped took 12 days to be delivered. I had intended to send them for Christmas! It was too late. When I emailed customer service, I received a robo-email. Terrible customer service. I called on Black Friday to discuss and place orders for multiple items - the agent told me they had no deals and recommended that I call back on cyber Monday (she also noted that there were plenty of stock on each of the items I called about). When I called Monday to place my order the agent told me there was indeed a special for 10% off if you order 2 items and 15% 3 or more, I was ordering 10 items. As I continued to place my order 3 of the items were discontinued since Friday, not out of stock - DISCONTINUED. My children specifically selected these items from the catalog this company sent us for Christmas, I went ahead and purchased what I could but when it was time to check out I did not receive a discount - I asked to speak with a supervisor (Aly), who was rude and condescending, and then her Manager, Grace, again rude, condescending and had the audacity of calling me a liar - she stated the original agent I spoke with, Jennifer, never told me of such discounts. I reminded them we were on a recorded line and asked them to replay the recording which they wouldn't do. I later spoke to Kathy, a manager in their customer service department who too offered no assistance other than to credit me $19 for my shipping charges....My order was over $550 and waiving a $19 shipping fee was suppose to rectify everything - some big favor huh? Bottom line, my kids, we will never order from this company again!!! I would've canceled the entire order and order similar items elsewhere if my children had not already specifically selected these items for Christmas. Anyone who knows anything about customer service knows that you always state what you can do, not what you can't and you certainly don't call a customer a liar, and that there is nothing they can do. Terrible shipping and customer service lies about it. Ordered on 8-13 they say they shipped it on 8-15 but FedEx Tracking says only label created, item not actually sent. Called Customer Service 3 times the following week and they said they shipped it 8-15, I pointed out that FedEx did not receive it, they said yes they created a shipping label!! They could not understand the difference between creating a shipping label and actually shipping the package. Wrote 2 Online Customer service requests same week- No Response. Asked to takt to Customer Service Manager and got his Voicemail, left my name, order number and phone number. No callback ! I found out that an order wouldn't arrive by Christmas, so I cancelled the order online. I actually found the exact same object on Amazon for $10 less. They notified me in January that the item was going to be shipped. I immediately spoke to customer service by phone and was told that it hadn't shipped and would be stopped. It arrived 4 days later. I immediately sent it back. The shipping cost me $16+ and they never refunded the original charge until I disputed it with my credit card company. I ordered christmas presents for my nieces and nephew with guaranteed delivery, they didn't come and this company would not respond by phone or by email for a month after I ordered. They would also not release my credit card hold for the purcase. Young Explorers has the worst website for ordering and the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Because I got no confirmation on the on-line order on 12/1/2014, I attempted to call the company to confirm it had gone thru. After getting voice messages when called, I eventually got dropped each time. I then re-ordered the item. After that, I received 2 confirmation emails, one for each order. I again attempted to call and got dropped. I then emailed their help@youngexplorers.com email. I received auto confirmation, indicating a reply would be sent in one working day. After two days and no response, I emailed again. I never got a response. On 12/5/2014, I attempted to call again (8877-756-5058) and got a body named Denise. I explained the duplicate order and reason for it and reported I'd received no reply from the HELP email. Denise spoke to her supervisor, Kim, who had Denise convey to me that I should call AFTER receiving both items since both had been shipped. It turns out both were shipped on 12/6. I received one on 12/11 and other on 12/12. At 3:30pm, I called and asked to speak to Kim. I was told she would be in at 4:00pm. I called at 4:00pm and was told she was in a meeting and forwarded to her voice mail. I left my name and phone no. and asked for a return call. When it didn't come by 7:00pm on 12/12/2014, I called again and asked for her. This time, I was told by Ed that they cannot forward calls to a supervisor and asked for the problem. I explained ALL was told I had to be referred to a 'SPECIALIST'. I was then placed on HOLD for 20 minutes. End result, since the frustration is too much, I will return the second, duplicate item and EAT the postage cost for mailing to me and the cost to return. Don't buy from them. read more

Tried again through their submission form on the website on December 17th. Still no response. The order ended up taking 4 weeks and did not get here in time for Christmas. Both items were in stock, so there was no excuse for such slow shipping. I emailed to ask what had happened to my order since there was no tracking information and received an automatic response that they would reply within 24 hours. I never received any reply at all. I will never order from them again. I don't know yet about the quality of the items. This negative review is based on very slow shipping and completely non-existent customer service. Definitely wish I had checked the yelp reviews before ordering. I ordered Christmas presents for my boys on Dec 8th and paid for rush delivery. The order want shipped until the 12th. I hadn't received my package by the 17th so I emailed them. 2 days with no response so I called them. Come to find out my package isn't expected to be delivered until the 2nd if January. That means it's taking my order almost an entire month to get to me. I live in Hawaii so I always choose upgraded shipping to ensure my stuff gets here quickly. I paid 20 dollars for shipping. I can pay 20 dollars in shipping and have something here in 3 days from most companies. This company portrays itself as being a spendy children's toy company, yet they can't offer regular priority shipping, first class etc like most companies? The lady I spoke to in customer service didn't seem to care one bit that it was taking a whole month to get to me. She told me rush delivery really just meant they'd fill it quicker, and when they get lots of rush orders, they all just pile up so it doesn't really end up getting filled quicker. Their website doesn't mention anywhere that they use FedEx smart post. I was told I could try calling FedEx, which I did, and they told me if they had sent it any other way besides smart post, I could pay them to upgrade my shipping. Really disappointed that they charge so much for the slowest shipping, and that their customer service seem to not care one bit. First expected delivery was 12/16; then 12/19; then 12/23. Finally were delivered late afternoon 12/24. No packing for the items - all of them just tossed around in the box. The "customer service" representative replied that "she did not know where my order was and that they did not activate tracking numbers." (WHAT?!) I finally received my order on 12/23/14. And turns out, one of the MAIN presents I had purchased had been substituted with an item at the company's discretion. Order from them again? UH-uh. I ordered items for Christmas. Got the items I ordered but had had to order twice since my internet blipped and I could not be sure the payment went through. Re-ordered but, realizing that both went through, immediately canceled one via their website. Got both orders anyway. Customer service told me to return one order and to call with the amount I had spent on return shipping so that charges could be refunded within 24-48 hours. I called and informed them of amount. No refund of return shipping because some supervisor claimed that it was my error, having ordered twice (remember, I canceled one order immediately) Then it was my fault that I did not insure the box or get a tracking number - shouldn't customer service have mentioned that? Now I am hoping to see $10.00 of my $14.96 return shipping refunded and will have to wait 6 weeks to see if the returned box gets back to them and if then the $110 comes back my way. One- and r/c submarine- barely worked for one day and the next year- an r/c hovercraft- did not work even close to how it should of and how it did in the online video. This company does not even deserve one star. I ordered 3 items in early December. I never received the order. When I checked online, there was no tracking information so I called, got the tracking number, checked FedEx website, which indicated that only the label had been created. I contacted YE by email - NEVER got a response. I called and was told that FedEx hadn't updated their website (after 2 1/2 weeks??) and I most likely would receive the package in the next couple days - this is now 4 days before Christmas. I called back 2 hours later and actually got a helpful CSR, who acknowledged that the shipment had been lost, and sent a new order out for overnight delivery. I should have received it by 12/23. FedEx did not deliver it until the Monday AFTER Christmas. The previous day I received an email from YE who said I had "most likely" received the order and would I please fill out their survey. I did, explaining how unhappy I was with this order and giving them my phone number to follow up. I NEVER got a phone call. These people just don't care. I didn't think to look on here before ordering something from them. Boy what a mistake. I ordered a Timer and AC adapter for it to help my girls learn time management at bedtime. Ordered it on 12/31/15 and received an email 1/30/16 saying that the AC adapter was still backordered but nothing about the actual timer. I go to the website to check the order status and they cancelled the order for the timer but didn't even tell me. And yet they were still trying to send me the AC adapter for a product I was never to get. Avoid them at all costs. I will be checking with the Better Business Bureau. read more
