Ten years or so ago, he fixed the lock on my old Honda door. He did a very good job, especially since I used that lock several times a day and night over the years. So when it broke again, I remembered his work. He finally find a lock that would work on my car, and fixed it within a week. He explained the work and answered my questions. My car was broken into and they destroyed my ignition. I called him first thing in the morning and he made time to come to my house and remove and install the new ignition. Young's Lock & Key is THE BEST! Today, I was somehow locked out of my car even though the model of my car doesn't auto lock. First time it has ever happened and unfortunately I couldn't even step away to call an Uber home to get the spare keys because my bag was already in the passenger seat with my wallet, house keys and company laptop. What excellent service I received! My call was answered by a person, not a recording. The appointment was set up for the same day. When a job caused him to run behind schedule, he called me right away to ask for a later time. He was profusely embarrased, as he told me this never happens, but he wanted to be respectful and let me know as soon as possible. This was a point in my book, as just the other day I talked to a different locksmith, who gave me a rough estimate and we set up an appointment for him to come over the next day. He told me he would call me back in about 10 minutes. He never called back. I wasn't sure if he was coming the next day or not. I called and left a voice mail message. He never bothered to call me back. So back to Young's Lock & Key,,,he arrived at the new appointment time, was extremely corteous, and knew what to do right away. My lock situation was a bit different than just a house door re-key. He made new keys for three different locks in a very short time. One of the locks was a rare lock, which should have costed a lot more than what he quoted. However, he chose to honor his original quote. He accepted various type of payments, which allowed me to decide my best method. I introduced him to Yelp, by printing out his existing excellent recommendations and suggested that he use this as further advertising by sending his prospects to check him out here. Mr. Young explained that it is too expensive to change the locks for this old car, and he would try to make a key for the car. He said he would try but it would be difficult and if he couldn't he wouldn't charge me. Three hours later he is still working and I will pay him something even if he can't get me the key. After running the key in the ignition a few times it works great in the door and ignition. Both needed a little bit of lube. He said it would work and it did. I had to re key a house I purchased and I found Young through a personal referral and was glad to see his Yelp reviews were great too. I called one guy before him and he wanted to charge me a lot so when I called young and got a quote for half of what the other person stated I was happy. Young also said if he looked at the locks and needed to do more work and we didn't like the price we didn't have to use him he would be okay with that. It was about 3pm and I needed a lock changed on my mailbox because I just sold my house and the new owner was moving in the next morning and needed to have this done ASAP.
