After going to Young's for some time, with an appointment, I was a walk in today. I had about 1/8th inch nails (hands), & wanted them trimmed a little and shaped, and polished. I was unfortunate enough to be put with Lupita. Lupita, it turns out, doesn't understand English. Yet I didn't know this and she was not being supervised by any other employee....another thing to know about Lupita is that she goes insane with clippers. She cut my nails down to literally the nail bed- not even leaving a sliver of white lenghth on my nail. When she did it to the second nail, what was I to do? They had to match, and I can't grow them back in 48 hours for my daughter's graduation! So now my nails look like I went on some sort of nail biting frenzy that I am trying to hide with polish! FURIOUS. So BEWARE of LUPITA. She doesn't know what she is doing and no one supervises....They look worse now than before I went in the door. Won't be going through that door again! read more

Excellent service! I was here for the first time on Saturday. I used to live in South Plainfield and got my nails done there. I love my girl so I kept going to her but I am honestly getting tired of the drive, even though it's not that far. I frequent the Southfield mall often to go to McCaffrey's and Carlucci's so when I spotted Young's salon I thought I'd give it a try. I got my requested appointment for a spa pedicure and gel fill right away. Staff is very friendly. My pedicure with Lupita was amazing and very relaxing. I have had the pleasure of getting my nails done here multiple times. The staff is so kind and thoughtful they even ask my name at the door and continue to use it while I'm there. My last visit I made it a point to tell the owner how much I loved my nails and how I appreciate how long they lasted. She then proceeded to assist my nail technician and recommended ways for my nails to last even longer this time around. there was no wait as I called ahead and the salon seemed clean although I didn't see the lady being clean equipment - first red flag. she then rushed through my pedicure, I still had bits of exfoliating scrub on my legs AFTER the so called lotion massage which lasted all of 2 mins. No filing with foot file or otherwise, just a quick scrub with the buffer, who does that? then the manicure - no nail soak, when I quizzed that she said I didn't need it! unbelievable! never in my entire life have I had a manicure without a soak. no hand massage with lotion, when I quizzed that she claimed she did it!!!!!!! I could not believe it. at this point I was getting really annoyed. she said she would come back and do it after my nails dried. like hell she did. she then used one hot towel on both of my hands to wipe off cuticle oil, which she applied AFTER she had (barely) pushed the cuticles back. I had to ask her to do it again and clip where necessary. a tough ask since she didn't bother to soak them. she then tried to clip dry skin, which was there since she hadn't soaked or massaged with lotion. one error after the next and super frustrating to sit through. she then painted my nails and you can see the streaks where she did not use enough polish. I also asked for them to be filed with a small white tip - first she left huge white tips and then she filed down so much that there were no white tips left, so it's actually painful now. I am also still trying to figure out how they charged me $60 for a regular mani pedi. rip off, bad service and cutting corners. read more

They did a great job on my manicure which was surprisingly "water-less" in that my cuticles were not soaked prior to trimming them. The polish lasted far longer than other manicures (and wasn't gel). I did worry about the cleanliness as it was a very busy Saturday morning and I wasn't necessarily "seeing" at that moment how the instruments were maintained (hopeful they were all scrubbed and sanitized between clients). My nail technician was friendly and worked quickly. I didn't get a sense of "repeat" customers as a I often do at other nail salons (possibly j the time of day). I have gone to this salon many times and despite it being expensive in comparison to other places, I continued to go. The last time I went, there was an issue with their credit card machine, so I had to give them another card versus the one I wanted to use. This visit the same thing happened, but the woman who did my nails was upset with me when I told her there was nothing wrong with my card. She continued to say "declined declined", as if she wanted to embarrass me in front of other people. Additionally, I had taken cash out of my wallet to tip her and it was on the counter while I was waiting for her to resolve the issue with the card machine. She ripped the cash off the counter and did not even say thank you. I felt so uncomfortable and so insulted. I will never go back there again. read more

A really great place! Found this salon on Yelp and was not disappointed at all. I got a manicure and pedicure and my husband got a pedicure. We made an appointment and the staff took us in immediately. They were all so friendly and professional. They did a great job with my nails and my husband has the nicest looking feet around :). The prices are reasonable ($48 for manicure and pedicure combined) and the color selection is the best I've seen in any nail salon and all Essie and OPI brand (for normal polish at least). I visited Young's for the first time on Valentine's Day, and I am so happy to finally have found a great nail salon in the East/West Windsor area. My boyfriend and I went in for pedicures and I also got a gel set. The pedicures were great and relaxing and my nails came out beautiful! Everyone there was also so very friendly and accommodating. I was taken aback a little by the price of the gel set, but I also haven't had them done in such a long time that I don't even know what would be average. Went here for one of the first Mommy self care moments in 4 years!!! Got a lovely pedicure but it cost me $34!!! Not including the tip. I'm from Essex County Montclair area...lots of money there and I was shocked at the price. I never thought to ask the price first. When they first opened a few years ago I started going there and was very unhappy after about three months. Needed a quick pedicure today so decided to give them another chance instead of going to my regular place which is about 20 minutes away from my home. Now I remember why I stopped going there. The pedicure today was mediocre at best. There still pieces of skin around my toe bad where she pushed back my cuticle but didn't trim it, even after I pointed out some spots that she missed. Polish is uneven and messy. they are way overpriced at $34 for a nothing special pedicure. Don't waste your time and your money at this place. $34 pedicure is now going to cost me close to $60 because I have to go have it redone now.. I would suggest that you read this and other reviews to realize that they are overpriced for or market and don't give any extra service or quality to justify it read more

I got my eyebrows done here because of the location just thinking it was a regular nail place. She just used wax and didn't tweeze or cut them down. The cost was $17 for just eyebrows! Keep in mind this is basically twice of the cost of any other nail place around here for The same if not worse service.. I have no idea why this place is so expensive. She literally used regular wax there was no paper on the table, nothing to suggest this place is any more spa like or hygienic than any other nail place around. I wouldn't go back. NEVER AGAIN. Like a previous reviewer, my manicurist asked for a tip before completing my nail service. I paid for my manicure pedicure in cash, and when she returned, she kept the change from my $100. When I asked for change, she all of a sudden did not understand English. She continued my manicure, but it could hardly be called a manicure at that point. She didn't apply any cuticle gel remover, she didn't push back my cuticles, she didn't buff my nails. She just slapped polish on my nails and walked away. Blatant racism. I am mixed, with an Asian mother, but I myself do not appear Asian. When I returned to Young's with my Asian mother, the manicurists said to me "well why didn't you tell us you are Asian?!" and were shocked when I said "that really should not make a difference in the service I am paying for." I've had a mani-pedi done here only twice, both times by appointment. The first time was a trial run/getting reading for my bridal shower. I always choose a very light color when trying new nail salons, since those are the hardest to apply! It went really well, so I decided to book my mom, sister, and myself in for the day before my wedding. Rehearsal day comes (a Friday), and we three go in for relaxing mani-pedis. I scheduled extra time in case we had to wait, or if anything went wrong, but we were all seen immediately. My sister and I breezed through the pedis, and they were really gentle on my sister, since it was her first pedi. My mom's took a bit longer, so they actually had someone prepping her hands while they finished her toes so she would finish at the same time as us! And finally, my dad decided to join us midway through. I hadn't made him an appointment, but he figured he might as well get his hands cleaned up a bit. He had a lot less to do, of course, but they still squeezed him in and had us all out the door in much less time than I expected. All throughout, great service from absolutely everyone.. I also really appreciate that they always have someone who speaks English very clearly answer the phone. Not all the techs have great English, which is fine, but when I had questions on the phone it was so much easier when I can communicate! read more

First time coming here and was really impressed but how nice the people were and the service when I first walked in. Although, it would be nice if they had a sign with their prices or available online. I had called prior to walking in to find out how much a manicure was and one of the techs had said it $14. But failed to tell me it was $10 to soak my gel nail polish off that I had on. Ended up paying $24 for a regular manicure when that is almost the price of a gel manicure where I usually go. What makes matters worst, the tech rushed the job so the polish doesn't even looked like it was coated evenly. Definitely was not worth the price I had paid for. read more

First, my experience this: I went in for acrylic nails. Horrible. I have never had such a terrible. It was almost as if it looked like the two week time frame to har them filled was the next day! From the start: $65. Fine. But do a damn good job Speaking about me in your own language?! How Rude can you be! If you are going to be that rude, then translate every word so at least I can doubt myself for thinking you were instead of knowing for sure. Putting this crap marble colored nail polish instead of a normal French nail without my consent? My mom had normal nail polish applied and hers looks beautiful so for normal nails, sure. During a gel removal, the manicurist clipped her own cuticles while waiting for the solution to dissolve my polish. Then she placed the cuticle clipper on the table instead of placing it immediately back into the autoclave. When I reminded her, she became resentful. Prices are on the high side as well. read more
