After spending $1500 on 6 spark plus and one coil, my SUV had the same rough ride. I took it back, they changed the new coil with another one. Improper coil installation on the wrong plug twice. Drove it home and the car did the same rough ride. They charged for 4 hours of labor per the book pricing however it was actually less than an hour of labor. i tried to negotiate the cost and they would not help me. i was referred to another mechanic at a different garage and they solved the problem for less than $300 and my car now runs perfectly. i will never entrust my expensive SUV to Youngstedts, extremely bad service and rude customer service. read more

Joe the manager who ended up not doing the work He said needed done decided to keep part the cost of an Unfinished Unnecessary Radiator Flush. He refunded $34 towards a Radiator flush that he charged me for and never completed. Also refused to give me the cost of the Antifreeze back that he didn't use but claims he did. They found water in my engine so my car is totaled. I would not trust this company location to do work on future vehicles based off this poor quality work Never performed. Customer must be FULLY REFUNDED IF YOU DIDN'T DO THE WORK. Period. This is called stealing from a customer when he is down. Sad choice Joe.. Sad Choice. Over charged and hustled? Brought my car in for Main Req light/Tire light. Got the car in right away and was told it was tire sensors and a few minutes later came back and said it was $600. I said to go ahead. I waited and waited for hours for some update but nothing so finally went and had lunch. Came back and the woman grabbed a different customers file. then said she called and left a message for me (which never got a voicemail etc). Then said the total was $800 vs the $600 quoted. I was like um no... The manager? said to take off the hoist fee. I cant tell if they're just incompetent or trying to hustle customers by quoting one price and then trying charge a different price. read more

Eden prairie youngstedts I told this place to fix one flat tire and flush my steering fluid and rebalance my tires . They called me and said I need a new engine mount too .I told them ok. but when they got done and i want to pick up my van it had more problems. the van was shaking when I start the car and the steering wheel still had the same problem and they charged me $700 dollars I took it back any they said will fix the problems. But now they are asking for $380 to fix the problem that they created. I would never go back to this store and I will be reporting them to BBB.i would never let any of my family or friends go there they are in some bull shit . read more

I have been to two Youngstedt's locations and been very disappointed with both the customer service and the work done on my car. The actual mechanics never seem like they are actually working, and the guys at the front desk are rude, impatient, and never want to answer questions. My first experience I went to the Minnetonka location to get my brakes done. It was quick, the guy at the front was rude, but not overtly awful. So I got my car back & it was a mess. My steering was messed up and after about 500 feet out of the shop, my car starts shaking and making this horrible noise and my check engine light came on. I called the shop, they told me to come back. I questioned why my car had done that, and the guy at the front got immediately defensive & said nothing they did would have caused this, and so on, basically yelling at me. I was actually curious because my car was perfectly fine & had gotten the o.k. from a previous mechanic. So they took it back and "fixed it"....for a price. After my first experience I thought I would try another location because they are locally owned, I didn't want to give up on them. I was severely disappointed. My car turned out fine, but this was after what I assume was an overcharge (hundreds over what they quoted me), and of course, trying to pressure me into over $2,000 of extra work. The guy at the desk at the Eden Prairie location was even worse. Demeaning, impatient, would not answer any questions I had, and was not even a little bit busy at the time to possibly excuse this as a one time behavior. I would never recommend Youngstedt's to my friends unless they have money to throw out the window on useless things, and like dealing with self-important, difficult, and sketchy employees. read more

I heard some noise coming from my engine, I was close to Youngstead's and drove my car in to have it looked at. I was so surprised that after 12 minutes to look around the engine and noticed one of I think he said a suction hose came off and he placed it back in place. I was so relieved it was something as simple as a hose. I would recommend Yougstead's for your car repairs, truly fair and honest! read more

I had brought my car in 2 days before Christmas to get my battery replaced, last minute because it had needed to get done so i went to Youngstedts. They replaced it for around $200 for the battery itself plus labor, along with an electrical test. Then 2 weeks later all lights on my dash are out so I bring it back thinking it may be related to my battery, my battery at this time is also testing -good but needs charge- they told me they would take a look but I needed to leave it there because they were busy. So I did, I called them on my way home to make sure they don't do anything without my permission. The next day I wake up to a voicemail saying that my car is ready to be picked up and that it was a bad negative end of my battery. So I head in, they tell me it'll be $140- and some change and I told them I was never informed of anything that was to be done to my car and never agreed to anything. So they knock down the price some. They did replace the negative end of the battery but how was it not noticed when replacing the battery 2 weeks prior? They charged me for that, and also charged me again for another electric test. So 2 electric tests within a 2 weeks span. You would think they would've looked at the history and thought we don't need to do this again, let's try another route to figure out the issue. I'm extremely frustrated and will not be coming to this business again. If I had the guts I would go in and ask for a refund! read more

They are quick, helpful, and well done; I have gone with them for some years now and every time they go the extra mile to make the customer feel valued, perform an excellent service with a reasonable cost. Once my son, as a homework, needed to watch a tire swap and they were very helpful with him too, again going the extra mile without a charge, with a good attitude and that made us start going there a few years ago. read more

I went to the Youngstedt's in Eden Prairie about a year ago. Worst car/customer service experience ever. They tried to charge me for several thousand dollars of unneeded repairs, and when I politely declined they tried to bully me into letting them do the work. Very rude and aggressive and about it. They finally let it go but when I showed up to get my car, turned out they didn't have the tires they had sold me, and without even asking me they put 4 new tires that I had not selected on my vehicle at an upcharge of $80/tire. Even to this day that place haunts me. I recently got a couple of flat tires.... and both times I was unable to remove the lug nuts myself and had to call a tow truck. The first time they could barely get them off. And this time, they stripped one of them attempting and now I have to have my car TOWED into a service station for a simple flat tire. I have read some other reviews that suggest "Women Beware" I hope that's not the case, but this woman would chew off her own leg before going back there ever again. read more

Best auto shop experience I have had! Everyone there was very friendly and honest. The last time I got my oil changed it was at bobby and steve's... They gave me a huge and very expensive list of things I need to do to my car. After calling different auto shops, youngstedts was the cheapest so I decided to take my car there. After looking over my car, they came to the waiting room and told me that there is nothing wrong with my car, gave me the keys and didn't charge me for anything. Totally trust this place. read more

I can't find any faults with the experience I had at Youngstedt's Eden Prairie Goodyear this past Saturday. The Check Engine light in my car had turned on so all I needed initially was a simple, straight-forward diagnostic check. Service Writers Shawn and Lance at the front desk were knowledgeable and genuinely cheerful. Rick, the mechanic working on my car, took time to ensure I understood exactly what it was he discovered. Shawn had the unenviable task of delivering some bad news (i.e., the potential total costs) about the extent of the mechanical issues with my car. He did a great job of explaining the severity of the situation and, as expected, provided a detailed estimate of the repair costs. Because this was my first visit to Youngstedt's Eden Prairie I had stopped at a Starbucks on the drive over for my morning coffee. Unfortunately, I didn't need to - the shop had two air-pots full of fresh brewed java ready for waiting customers. Stepping into the waiting room I was pleased to see plenty of seating and a huge flat screen TV; a definite step above the waiting rooms at places like Precision Tune, Midas, etc. My first experience at Youngstedt's was as good as it gets and gave me plenty of reasons to come back when future repairs are needed. read more

Great customer service from manager initially....I brought my car back right after they replaced my front brake pads and rotors and told them to take my car for a test drive as they didn't seem to work well and squeaked so they did and came back took it in the shop again and said oh your rear brakes needed to be "readjusted" they never said anything about my rear brakes needing anything when I initially brought it in so they "adjusted" them and said oh we won't charge you for the adjustment it's on us... As if I owe them some sort of gratitude for not correctly fixing my brakes in the first place and to top it off they still squeak! And the new rotors didn't seem right either because they seemed to rust quickly after they supposedly replaced them I also had a serpentine belt replaced a while back here and they told me after I waited for over an hour that they put the wrong belt on so it would be another 45 mins to get it done just horrible employees who obviously don't know how to do simple repairs.... I replaced my serpentine belt on my old car myself maybe I should have done my brakes and serpentine belt myself for my new car too....would have been better than the quality here read more
