Due to privacy regulations (FERPA and HIPAA), I don't expect a follow-up or apology at this point. But after five years, I feel it's important to finally share this publicly for the sake of others seeking care. When I experienced high blood pressure late in pregnancy, we were advised to go to the hospital--but the promised support in emergency transitions never came. My partner and I had to navigate the ER and hospital system alone while I was in and out of consciousness from a magnesium drip. The only outreach was a call asking whether we'd be returning for aftercare--not a check-in, not a gesture of compassion, not even a follow-up to acknowledge what had happened. We later discovered documentation of a hypertension diagnosis that was never discussed with us transparently. No safety plan was made. The most guidance we received came from our hypnobirthing coach--not our midwifery team. We were also exposed to COVID-19 due to lax policies around symptomatic individuals, compounding our stress and vulnerability. While a partial refund was eventually issued, the emotional impact of being left unsupported in one of the most critical moments of our lives still lingers. I truly hope Nativiti has grown and changed. But for us, what was promised and what was lived were very different.

I hired Joli later on in my pregnancy (after 28 weeks) after deciding I wanted to try for a natural birth and really wish I had done it sooner. We had a few meetings set before the birth where we walked through a lot of my emotional and physical needs for the birth, and concerns surrounding the birthing process. Joli handled all of my questions and concerns with grace and compassion, and she was happy to suggest advice, educate me on the process, or point me to literature references where needed. Together we came up with a detailed birth plan which helped put this first time mom at ease. I remember consistently feeling more empowered and confident in the birth process after each of our meetings. When labor started she was on board and actively coaching from the 5am call to the finish line late the next day. She was there with support and suggestions when the birth plan went out the window due to complications, and she was the rock after birth helping me understand what was happening in a room full of buzzing doctors and nurses. Joli was there with her bag of tricks to help keep me calm and on track during labor. She was there to help guide my husband when he was concerned for me and felt helpless. She held me up during long miserable contractions and helped translate what the medical professionals around me were saying when I had no idea what was going on. She was my voice in the delivery room when I couldn't be, and when things became difficult she had the positive encouraging message I needed to hear to keep going. I could not imagine going through that labor without Joli's help. Joli's knowledge of and enthusiasm for her profession make her an invaluable asset to any birth. I would hire her again in a heartbeat if I were to have another baby.

I interviewed Joli when I was 6DPO (and I KNEW I was pregnant) she was kind and funny and we clicked immediately. I felt like I could be myself around her and that my dark humor or coping mechanisms weren't going to scare her off. She helped me narrow down the field of midwives and gave me some suggestions on who might be the best fit for my family. Before I even had my baby, I felt like I had already received the value of Joli's service. Any question or concern I had, Joli always already had an resource to recommend or could give me a dissertation about it herself. Joli brought me peace and calm throughout my whole pregnancy not just the birth.... but let's get to the birth. Joli was at my house for nearly 36 hours and never once did I see anything but patience and understanding in that amazing woman's eyes. She was steadfast in her belief that I would have this baby how I wanted and where I wanted. She stood by me, held space for my pain, moved her hips with mine, squeezing when needed, other times just moving in time with me. This woman. I don't know if she slept or ate, but I'm pretty sure she worked almost as hard as me those few days because I don't have a memory without her or a picture that she's not in. 10/10 Joli every time. I don't think I'm having any more babies; but I might call Joli over next time I'm constipated, just for her amazing moral support. Where do I begin?…read more Erin saved me in so many ways. I sought her out & told her over and over what my needs were. She patiently listened to every word with TRUE openmindeness. I've had PPD twice in the past. I've had multiple preemies. I was terrified in so many ways and she heard it all. When the day came for medically necessary induction, I reached out to Erin. To get my placenta and she came. Even though we called at 4am. And she came to me in recovery and catered to me while she could. Keep in mind, we had no idea induction was going to happen and we hadn't paid her anything at this point. There were complications in surgery. And I didn't learn about them until a day later. By that point, Erin was schedule to drop off my placenta pills to me in the hospital. I learned (before she came) that I couldn't have anymore children. It would be "devastating in the least". We were broken over the news. This baby was our last and we weren't prepared for that. When Erin came, she had with her last minute add on's. Placenta prints, my cord shaped into a heart, herbal concoctions & love. It began the healing process. Never before had I had my placenta encapsulated or the cord keepsake. And she provided healing things for me. The benefits from my pills have been phenomenal I DONT have ppd, my milk supply is amazing and my body and mind are able to heal.
