Excellent design and service from bid to job completion! We are completely satisfied about 2 years in from a fairly complex residential install of about 22 panels across a multi-level angled rooftop, long electrical runs and load center (electrical panel) code upgrades, and raised north-facing roof panels to improve yields. YES had a great proposal and were good partners throughout the process, actually trying to talk us down on overbuilding capacity and reducing the expense of the install versus what we requested from them initially. We ended up somewhere in the middle, which has worked really well. Post-install support has also been painless and excellent; we had some inverters which needed service and YES quickly sent a team to repair at no cost to us. Would recommend YES, and if you can get a neighbor to join your bid you might be able to negotiate some savings if you can sync up your contract and installation schedule. read more

These guys deserve huge credit for bringing our house out of the SunPower bankruptcy canyon. Thanks to Andy, Geno, Skyler, Gil, Gustavo, Jr and David (and any I forgot). We got a SunPower SunVault in 2025 and it was never turned on due to SP meltdown. YES proposed an effective alternative (likely better than original system) based on Franklin Battery. I do not recommend going with YES to install solar or a battery on your home, because of the quality of their customer service after installation. My experience with YES was ok through the design and installation process. BUT their customer service afterwards has been unacceptable. Recently, my Tesla home battery stopped working. Franki in Ops called and walked me through trying to reset it, but this failed. He then said that a site visit was needed and their next available appointment would be in two months (Nov 2025--January 2026), because their staff was too busy installing new systems. Two months with the battery not working. Soon the micro-inverters all stopped reporting -- YES said dealing with this would also need to wait till their January site visit. To me, YES can decide to dedicate 100% of their staff to new business and new income, and 0% to existing customers with warranties, but this is unacceptable customer service. I do not suggest you trust them with your business. read more

My project had a lot of interesting twists and turns. I required a panel upgrade, there were setbacks due to miscommunication with PG&E, the inverters had to be swapped out. After having difficulty getting my system online, I reached out to Your Energy Soulutions. They installed my solar initially. Things didn't go as planned. After the back and forth as stated in my previous Yelp, I decided to reach out to Enphase technology directly. They trouble shot everything and decided the mother board on the system needed to be replaced. After researching the data and accepting that the system hasn't worked properly in over a year, they offered to replace it at no charge. Enphase contracted out to YES and had them take care of the installation of the defective part. Today, the technician installed the board and connected it to my internet. He was here for 15 minutes total. I'm updating my review to a 3 star because the technician was very nice and helpful. I always thought YES was a 5 star company. A crew came to the house and fixed the problem within a few weeks and they credited me the loss of electricity when the panel was inoperable. Entire system is working great! We used them a few years ago to upgrade our solar power system (switch to mico inverters) and had a good experience so we were comfortable working with them again. We had a HORRIBLE experience with Your Energy Solutions and would not recommend them to anyone. The customer service is terrible and if we didn't continually stay on top of the process, I'm certain we still wouldn't have had our solar installed. This means we had to continuously call them to get appointments scheduled, then check in before scheduled dates to make sure they hadn't cancelled without notifying us (this happened twice where we stayed home and waiting for an inspector or installer and no one showed up), and then check-in regularly to see if they had submitted permits and paperwork before deadlines. We had to project manage it all and that should not be the case for a service that costs thousands of dollars. In addition, it took over seven months for the process to be completed when they promised it should only take 2-3 months. We almost missed the rule change that would allow for our energy outputs to be part of PG&E's program because they team at Your Energy Solutions was not communicative, was misleading about timelines and deliverables, and did not follow-up with the city or PG&E without us requesting they do their job multiple times. I don't blame the person who was overseeing our case. He was trying to do his best, but he was severely overworked and the management at Your Energy Solutions never took accountability for being short staffed and giving their team impossible workloads that then adversely affected customer service. In addition, we are finding that aspects of what they pitched to us when selling the solar may not be true when it comes to taxes. Be sure to do extensive research and talk to a tax professional prior to buying solar because this team is primarily interested in just making sales. Again, I cannot stress it strongly enough that you should not select Your Energy Solutions for your solar needs. You will have nothing but headaches and stress. read more

Beware of this company and their sales tactics!! I've been shopping around for solar panels to get locked into NEM 2.0 and based on the reviews I decided to go with YES. I have been in touch with their Salesperson for several weeks now undergoing several design iterations and draft quotes he finally quoted me a certain price (I have a written quote). He even stopped by my house for an informal site visit just to make sure the main panel is located as per their requirements. Everything checked out ok, and he said I should expect a contract in a day or so. All well and good so far. Then after a couple of days I followed up with him on the contract. He says that the owner (Jim) intervened and said that the price quoted was "too low" and they wanted to charge additional $2500 (approximately) to get into a contract. No explanation besides that he "mistakenly" quoted the wrong price. I was furious! after 3+ weeks of back and forth they had the audacity to tell me that!!??? Any reasonable business owner should honor their quote and acknowledge the fact that I spent several weeks of my precious time to finalize the design at that price. The attitude was take it or leave it. It honestly felt like them taking advantage of the fact that customers desperately are trying to meet the NEM 2.0 deadline .. so hey let's jack up the price to make more money out of this situation! read more

In the original contract, the labor warranty is transferable. The original house owner emailed Your Energy Solution to request the warranty being transferred to me. I have tried to work with one of the employee in Livermore and I was asked by him to pay more than $1100 dollars to purchase the warranty for the remaining 21 years. This is ridiculous. I am surprised that the company is running business this way. Both the buyer and the seller agents also said they never heard of any charge for the solar transfer in any of their business cases. He helped me through completing the tracking, completing the city inspection, and approval of the Net Metering with PGE. The company also agreed to cover the cost difference due to increased loan borrowing rate that I faced due to delays from their end. Franki was easy to communicate with and responded to texts and phone calls immediately. In fact, he was so good with proactive communication that I didn't need to follow up everyday. I'm very satisfied with the support I have received since my last review, but I hope I didn't have to go through the frustrating experience up front. I would recommend Bay area residents to consider Your Energy Solutions for solar installation. Original review December 2022: I signed my contract with this company to install solar panels in August, after they pushed me to sign quickly claiming their rates were going up from Sep 1. I primary went with this company due to their good reviews on Yelp. I want to provide a contrary experience. It's been 3 months and I've struggled to receive timely responses from my project manager. They delayed installation by more than 2 months due to which my initially agreed loan rate doubled. They had a 60 day clause for validity of loan terms. My solar installation now costs me 30% more than what I was expected to pay. 2 days before the promised installation day the manager Paul emails me to ask if I'm open to moving my installation date by a few days, I deny that. Then on my install day, installation team leaves my place without actually installing the panels and come back a week later to finish it. No communication from my manager on the day they left without installing. The installation has been done now but I've no idea if the system actually works. I have not been given any instructions or app to monitor. The city has not inspected it and the company has not connected it to PGE for net metering. Emails and calls to the project manager Paul are either never responded by him or he replies a week later with incomplete information. At this point I've already paid the company through my loan provider (@30% higher costs) but the communication has gone silent. How unprofessional. This is extremely frustrating. I'm unable to get in touch with the owners. They should be liable for my cost increase and incomplete installation. This unprofessional behavior is causing anxiety. My wife and I had a 48 panels 435 LG panels 20.8 kw ground mount system installed here in Penngrove on our 1 acre property. The Good -Competitive pricing (They were the cheapest out of 3 quotes). Nathan did a great job of giving me a solar system that I want at a competitive price with the best parts. -High quality parts. At the time other solar providers only offered 375 watt panels with low to okay 85 percent efficiency after 30 years but YES offered 435 LG watts bi-facial with 92 percent efficiency. -Best ground mount system ( no cement pole uses latest metal wire cables anchored into the ground - Install was fast once everything was in place. Took less than a week. PG&E permission to operate was also done within a week. What could have been better -The start process of getting permits and design took 6 months to get started 7 months for total project length. (we had to leave a 1 star review in order to get attention from the owner and focus put back on our project). Overall the delay did work in our favor as it was completed in the begining of 2022 so we will get the 30 percent tax credit. -They installed the wrong panels! Our quote states 435 Lg Bi-facial but we ended up with 435 LG single sided. The bi facials are better. I eventually address this 3 months after install after figuring this out. I got an email response of "we'll look into this" then a no response after I asked again for a follow up. ( I don't blame them if I was running a solar company this was a big mistake and will be costly for them to swap panels after customer use). Despite this major issue of the wrong panels it was still a better panel the what other solar installer quotes offered. -My enphase micro inverters stopped reporting data. Problem got worst as more microinverters stopped reporting data. (They still generate energy so it's not severe) I asked them if they can take a look or help me out to fix these smaller issues. So far they sent they sent the request out twice to the maintenance team but nobody followed up on this. My concluding thoughts. -If they can replace my panels to the bi-facial with the right ones matching my permit I will change my review to a 5 star. I was really excited for the Bifacial panels and what made me decided to choose YES as my solar installer. This will allow me to generate power power on cloudy days and make better use of my ground mount setup. -My advice to the Owner of Yes. You run things like an assembly line which is great for competitive pricing and streamlining the operation. However there is poor cross communication inside your company and not accountability when solar issues happen. Nobody responds or follows up when their our solar issues. -I do have minor issues but not at the fault of anyone. I do have solar clipping in summer due to having the iq7 microinverters and large panels. They have the iq8 microinverters that just came out now which can support more powerful larger panels. Not worth the cost for me to upgrade now but may consider it in the future. -I would like to also get batteries in the future and want to go through YES for future upgrades but I'm a bit worried to do so due to the lack of follow up when problems arise. Update: I changed my score from 2 to 4 stars after getting a call with Franki. YES/Franki did try to determine the feasibility of putting in the BiFacials but due to the extra long solar panel length it would require a major rework of the metal framing which was labor intensive. He did want to set things right with us so he did offer something better which is future discounting on when we get batteries in the future for the difference in solar production. It was a good discount that I was quite happy with and will need all the discounts for the amount of batteries I want. Around 40 kw worth. Overall I am quite satisfied with the whole system and competitive pricing. I do appreciate YES for reaching out to make things right and keep the customers happy. read more

We hired YES to install a solar battery. We already had two sets of solar panels that were installed in 2017 and 2019. The 2019 panels were installed by YES, and we had a good experience with them with that project. We also chose YES because they were recommended an Enphase battery that fits the relatively small number of preexisting panels and our energy use pattern. The contract was signed in October 2023, and the project was FINALLY completed a week ago, June 2024. So far, the product seems to work fine. The quality of work seems to be good. The price was reasonable. Other reviews mention Manny Rios, who was also very responsive when we contacted him. The person who came to turn on the battery (sorry, can't remember his name) was also fantastic, explaining all the components to us as well as how to turn things off if needed. Our complaint is with the project management. One major delay was the discovery that our main panel bus bar had melted, so the main panel needed to be replaced. YES wanted PG&E to turn the power off to the house to replace the panel, but PG&E could not isolate the connector to turn our power off without also switching off power to other houses in the neighborhood. YES spent two months trying to get either PG&E or 811 to find the power switch. (The power lines are underground.) I finally had to call PG&E myself to get the project moving again. Even after the main panel was replaced, it still took months for YES to complete the project. It seems like each step in the project was not even scheduled until the step before was completed, and I had to call or email after each step to get Celeste, the project manager, to do the scheduling. This led to weeks when nothing was being done. At one point, Celeste was out of the office for a week and no messages were returned. I communicated my dissatisfaction to YES, but nothing changed, and there was never an apology for the multiple delays. If I have a project related to solar in the future, YES won't be my first choice. read more

At the same time we were putting in a new roof, we asked for bids to have a solar system added to our house. We talked to a number of different installers and after reviewing the bids, we chose Your Energy Solutions. We had heard of them from a neighbor who had had a good experience. As it turns out, we did, too, and highly recommend them for your solar install. We started with Geno who introduced us to solar, deeper than we had previously read about it. He was highly educated about it, and he was patient in answering all our questions about size, location of panels, and about adding a battery system, which appears to be the only way to go after NEMs 3 went into effect. The project install was managed by Fabian who did an excellent job from start to finish; interacting with the roofers, to get things ready for the solar, keeping the two teams, one for solar and one for the batteries, organized and on time, to making sure it was tested and that the inspectors had no issues when they came to give approval; which they did not! We are very pleased with how well everything continues to work (install was Nov 2023) and we keep a regular watch at the Enphase website which monitors and measures how the system is doing. read more

Well I have been with YES for a few years now and occasionally I make a great choice in life and they have been one of them They had the best bid and pricing and the batteries and panels seemed to be a step up from what was available from other manufacturers at the time. The panel and batteries install went well and YES got me through the permit process that's not always easy dealing with permitting. System has been up and running going on three years now and is a net power exporter. It is perfectly coordinated with energy supply through the year. In the winter with a gas furnace it does fine with the lower sun input. In summer it has been running my whole house and AC in 100+ weather solely on the panels. This is not to say we have not had product issues. I considered this when evaluating bids and it seemed ALL manufacturers have product issues. So to me the key seemed to be "what kind of support will you get." In YES's case it has been excellent. As an example, the system recently had a transfer issue and Manny spent 3 hours in a hot garage with a tech at Enphase to zero in on what was needed. His concern and professionalism was such that he returned my call on Saturday from his son's tournament game. When the repair board was delayed Carter dogged Enphase and put its delivery on a fast track getting it here in 2 days instead of over a week. Guthania has been an excellent service coordinator to stay on top of the project and keep communications working between all parties. and in this day and age it was nice to hear from Jim, the owner. I am not an easy customer, I complain a lot. Your Energy Solutions team put up with me and installed the panels the way I wanted along with great suggestions for the best place to install them. The project manager, Franki, was calm and easy to work with. What he said happened and when the workers came to install the panels, they were wearing masks and were all very polite. Ultimately they did a great job, my roof is pitched and does not get much sun, as such I did not get a full installation because my roof's limited sun exposure. This review is long overdue. We got our panels since 2016 and It took me a while searching for the perfect solar installer for our 9kW system. I reached out to the big names at that time like Solarcity, Peterson-Dean, Sungevity etc but none of them could provide me the technical details I'm looking for since they're all level 1 sales rep with barely any technical knowledge. They don't even know how net metering works and how pg&e will be billing us once we have our system. But Jim, the owner of YES answered every single questions I have. Even provide me detailed technical calculations. Turns out for pg&e, if you're in ToU, you sell to pg&e at the rate you're supposed to be charged when you're producing which is awesome because we sell at peak rate (up to ~40 cents) but buy at non-peak rate (as low as ~15 cents) so technically if your energy consumption is 15kW, you don't have to install 15kW unit if you just want $0 bill because of the sell high buy low advantage. After the install, we found out that some panels that were added last minute (by my request) were underperforming and even tho it's not entirely their fault, Jim compensated some of the loss from that panel. And 2 years ago, after our electrical panel caught fire, his team was very responsive and even helped with the recovery process at no cost. I had my panels installed in 2016 and this year was the first time I needed assistance with an issue. Because of the heavy rain at the end of January, I noticed a leak in my garage. I e-mailed Your Energy Solutions about the issue and asked what I should do. One of their project coordinators, Ashley, reached out to me to work in an appointment around my schedule. Great communication by e-mail! This morning, two gentlemen came promptly at the start of the 2 hour window for the appointment. They went on the roof and inspected the damage. An hour later, I went and check in on them and they had completed the repair on the roof and helped with some cosmetic work on the inside of garage. Turns out the solar install was fine and there was a small hole between the wall and the start of the roof that they were able to fill in. These two went above and beyond what I expected and made my day. It saves me the hassle of finding a separate repair person to help with the issue. Review update at 11:00am. I am giving a 4 stars now for Franki's call this morning. At 10:00am Gustavo , the technician finished his work. The Enlightened app now shows the panels are working but but IQ gateway status is still red(meaning something is not working?). I will give it a few hours to see if the panels are back on track. Franki gave me a call to explain the work they did and he said he would keep on monitoring our system for us. To the company: there needs to be a better way to communicate with your clients when the panels are not working. Yes I understand your have many customers but the system definitely needs improvement. Timeline for my panels 10/6/22 1st email from Buthaina(I have not heard of her before emailed me) 10/17/22 we missed the 10/6 email and no one called or text us about it so we tried to troubleshoot by resetting the breakers but one panel still down 10/18/22 Buthaina then order the micro inverter which takes 10-15 BUSINESS days, that's 3 weeks wait! Buthaina didn't schedule an appt for us right away on the 18th. Why did we have to wait until the part arrive then get an appointment? This is the part which it doesn't make sense to me. If she schedule an appt for us, let's say 3 weeks out would have been 11/9. 10/25/22 haven't heard back from them in a week so I wrote an email asking for an update 10/26/22 Franki respond and say the replacement unit is still being sent and mentioned Peter from tech support would call me to schedule an appt 11/9/22 No one called so I sent an email again. 7 panels down 11/9/22 Franki sent an email now to Angel asking him to call me for an appt 11/9/22 I got a call for an appt. The earliest date theater was given to me was 11/22 but we were not available to be home. So we got the next available date 11/29 which is today. 11/29- tech Gustavo arrived and changed the inverter. Will wait to see if the panels will be up working. Franki mentioned to me that on average I lost about a little over $1 a day worth of energy bc it's in the cooler month. If I were to say $1 a day, I still lost $54(54days). In conclusion, my first panel breakdown experience have been frustrating. There should be a way to improve this process. Either have a few backup inverters for customer so the appointment time can shorten or make sure the customer is aware the panels are down at the earliest convenience (by phone or text if the customer didn't respond to the initial email), have ONE general email address for tech support like most companies do so customer can add that email to the contact list after purchasing your panels. ----------- The tech finally came at 8:40. Hope he can resolve the problem. I was not aware the service time window is between 8-10 because I never got an email confirming the appt time. ------------- We had our system installed on a timely manner but half of our panels are down (since almost 2 months ago!) and the earliest available appt for a tech to come from the time we learn of the break down to the time I actually got the appointment was another month. So today marks the one month mark since we made appointment. While we waited patiently for our service appt., we are loosing money. The tech is suppose to show up at 8am and it's past that now. I left messages for Franki / Angel who let us know that our panels were down, Steve fr sales who sold us the panels and said if one panel is down it wouldn't affect the other one(in our case it was unique because it was the first panel of the string so it pulled down the rest of the 6 panels. We didn't know about that before bc the selling point for their panels is that each panel got its own inverter. Fabian was our project manager who worked on our project and getting the panels set up was good overall until the panel breaks down. After doing research, talking to neighbors, and receiving multiple bids from various solar companies, we contracted with YES to install a solar system with a battery back-up at our residence. The system included YES solar panels, a Tesla Integrated Inverter, a Tesla Gateway and Tesla Batteries. Geno, the sales representative, explained to the difference between the Tesla system and the Enphase system, and the respective options. He was very responsive, informative and patient in answering all our questions and providing quotes for various scenarios. There were a few glitches that occurred during the installation of the system (January 2024), but overall, the installers were very professional and courteous, and the system was up and running in a couple of days. Fast forward five months (May 2024) and our inverter started to fail and kept turning itself on and off throughout the day, resulting in a 50%+ reduction of our solar output. Manny, the service representative from YES, came out and diagnosed the issue with the inverter and was immediately on the phone with Tesla's warranty service to request a replacement. He was on the phone, for what seemed to be a couple of hours, with the Tesla representative who insisted that the system was behaving as designed, and that nothing was wrong. Thankfully, Manny was able to convince the Tesla representative that a leaking inverter unit with an inoperable cooling fan was not normal and Tesla agreed to issue a replacement unit. It took a couple of weeks to get the replacement inverter, during which time, Manny was super responsive to our status inquiries, and was willing to go above and beyond his normal "customer service duties," to give us updates until our inverter was replaced and back to 100% output. Overall, we are very satisfied with our experience with YES and the system that they installed. We are constantly on the app, checking the solar output and battery status. Side Note: We decided on the Tesla Powerwall batteries due to wall space availability, and therefore went with the Tesla inverter because of the better software (app) integration between the Tesla inverter and the Tesla Powerwall batteries. Our only regret with going with the Tesla System is that the app is limited to showing the solar output based on the inverter limitation versus the total solar panel output. This issue was not discussed prior to the installation of the system. If we had installed Enphase inverters, we would be able to see the total solar array output. read more

I had a fantastic experience with YES. They navigated us through an exceptionally winding and lengthy set of PG&E hurdles to ultimately get our 7200 kW solar system designed, installed, approved, and running. From NEM 2.0 grandfathering in time, to MPU network re-engineering, to a series of inspector no-shows - YES folks kept on it and kept pushing right along with us to make it through. I couldn't be more happy that I chose such a reputable and committed local vendor; it was a relief to be collaborating with the same tight-knit set of folks on this E2E work. Thanks in particular to: Bill for being the sharpest of the solution planners I spoke with across probably half a dozen competing options. He shepherded us into the right technology and the right tradeoffs, while personally ensuring we made the tight NEM cutoff. Fabian on the phone lines who was a consistent pleasure to connect with. Always got us follow-through with the right member of the broader team. Jessica and then Celeste for the Project Management and ultimately the calm, determined PG&E-management to keep the ball moving ever-forward. And most especially Manny and team who went consistently above and beyond on responsiveness, care, and service. They did impeccable work to get our electrical system up and upgraded. And at many points Manny became our "guy on the inside" to keep up the pace on our project. read more

Customer service after sale is so important. Your Energy Solutions passes the test with flying colors. With the tools we were given to monitor our panels, Mr. M found that one of the panels was not reporting any activity. He reached out to YES, and they scheduled a maintenance appointment. Joey came out to fix our issue. He was friendly and efficient. He even hosed the ash off our panels while he was up there, as I had been worried about the panels' effectiveness due to the fires nearby. Our warranty was honored, and we did not receive an invoice. My original review gave YES five stars. Since that last review, I've had a couple of problems with my solar system and despite those problems, I still stand by my five-star rating! Why? Manny Rios. When these problems came up, Manny was very responsive and tolerated my constant texting on a weekend to help me. He took the time to explain how to use the app to monitor the system. Even after the problem was resolved, he proactively checked in with me to make sure things were continuing to function properly. That is great customer service. Thank you! read more

YES (Your Energy Solutions) installed solar panels on our residence in Oct. 2023. The wifi setup to show energy created stopped working last week after Xfinity installed a new modem and changed our password. I sent an email to YES after business hours last Wed. 1/16 requesting help to get the wifi working again. To my amazement on Thursday morning, there was a response saying they would have a technician at my home between 11 and noon that day. A big shoutout to technician Aaron. He arrived on time, was polite, friendly, answered our questions, and patiently fixed what needed to be fixed. The new Xfinity modem was not as strong as the old one and we needed a WIFI extender. Our printer was also not working due to Xfinity's changes to the system name and password. Aaron also fixed the printer and it now responds to all our devices. I had a very bad experience with dealing with YES. Right from beginning there were issues. You have to spend lot of you personal time to follow up correct the mistakes. I have a a long list of email. The team is not professional. One thing that super surprises me is they dont care about customer even after you reach them. Avoid this agency. I have reached out for installing consumption meter in my home and went up to Earnest the VP, he chose not to care and asked me to find an electrician or pay a huge cost . A little late in posting this review. But we had YES install our solar panels in Nov 2021. Flawless execution, from CAD design all the way to city inspection. Along the way, we had Fabian as our project manager - he was very receptive. They chose LG Neon panels with Enphase IQ8 inverters. Very well customized to get max solar output and also installed critter guards at our request. Highly recommend! read more
