I had this company install solar on my townhouse roof about six months ago. The first two years I've done a lot of research into local solar companies and a neighbor one street over had this company install solar and they were very happy! To keep this brief short, I did have this company install solar panels and a Tesla battery and I'm very pleased from the start of the process to the end. The neighbors that recommended this company just came through and gave a check for $500 referral. The employees that I would like to mention were very professional on some questions and issues we ran into, but everything is good now very pleased. I do have an electric vehicle and it is nice using the energy from the sun to charge my car and run my household! so I'd like to mention some of the employees that were very professional and we're always there for my questions or issues and that would be Andy Yi, Angel, Aaron, David the electrician, Daniel and Carter! The crew that came out in one day to set everything up was the head guy Jonathan, and did not get the names of his crew. They were all very good! Very please! BTW dealing with my HOA was a joke! Prompt response the very first time, but later fell off in spite of me filling in the details at their website thru the link provided by them, on a timely basis. Took them two days to get back on it, with a emailed quote, rather than somebody calling and talking to me to understand my project !! And the quote seemed to be highly over rated, requiring much more than what I would need for my electric usage. this is not what you call "design" of a system, but someone just pulling out some random numbers and giving a quote Requested to talk with the person who gave me the quote, by responding on email. This could easily have been a one star review with how long it took to get my issues sorted after install. The power import and export readings were all over the place and it took four separate visits and 6 months to get it right. They sent Manny over this week and he listened to what I said, understood me, took one look at the panel and figured out what the issue was. Turned out one of the sub panels were not plugged into the meters. Finally the power usage numbers make sense and I feel like I got a system I paid for. I explained the issue to so many different people and it was so frustrating to hear them say again and again that it's supposed to work that way and everything is fine. I realize this is a complicated design and I am happy with the system but support quality and responsiveness really should be looked at by YES. And hire more people like Manny who listen and understand issues before plugging or unplugging CTs here and there. read more

The background is that two years ago, we had just bought our home in Alamo and contracted Your Energy Solutions to take down our solar pool panels and PV system to do a reroof. Fast forward to December 2023. My pool guy had instructed me to empty the solar pool panels ahead of freezing temps. When I got on the roof, I discovered damaged shingles under the lower header of the pool panels. After some detective work, including going back to the video taken by the real estate agent for the prior owners, we determined Your Energy Solutions completely forgot to install the lower clamps per the manufacturer's instructions when reinstalling the pool panels. Without the clamps, the lower header has been sitting right on the shingles, and two years of thermal expansion and contraction have caused nearly 40 spots of damage to what is practically a new roof. We had never owned a pool or PV system before, so we trusted Your Energy Solutions to do the job right. I had no reason to figure out what the right installation looked like. Now I know, and ours isn't right. After the discovery of the damage, I had the roofing company (P.R.I. Premier) who did the reroof, and the repair quote came back at over $1,200. I've been trying to get Your Energy Solutions to make a wrong a right since January 8th, and here we are at the end of the month with no resolution. They won't even return my calls and emails. On top of the roofing repair bill, I still need someone to fix the botched reinstall of the pool panels. I have no option but to take them to court for reimbursement. Run, don't walk away from Your Energy Solutions. Y.E.S. is a big NO! read more

We worked with YES to install our solar and roof. Communication with YES was good until the installations were done and full payment made (the online payment system went down). Customer service after the installation has been horrendous and is a bad omen for if things break or if you need to reach them to ask questions. We asked about whether YES and their contractors could do an electrical wiring inspection and also install an EV charger. After an initial "we will look into it and get back to you", there has been no response. We have sent multiple emails asking for updates and have heard nothing back. Disappointed and will not be working with YES again. Very anxious if we do need to contact YES for warranty claims or assistance with our solar installation. read more

Once Angel and his team arrived, they cleaned my solar panels well. No roof damage, and they were very careful. It was also easy to get a quote by just sending them a Google Earth picture of my house. The price was very fair. But scheduling was tough. At first, they mistook my name as part of the someone else's address, and I had completely fallen off their radar (minus one star). The quote price is below average. The sales are very nice and active. But after you sign the contract, and the project progresses in the middle, it is extremely hard to reach anyone in the company that actually knows something (like schedule, appointment, or procedures). The front line operators simply know nothing, but they are really good in blocking you from reaching someone knows something. If you want to schedule, or make an appointment, you must go through a 10-20 calls and emails. They made an appointment, but did not show up. I call the company many many time, the front line operators just know nothing, and block me from talk to someone who is in charge. Really disappointed! read more

Daniel H was a pleasure to work with during the initial planning and purchase phase, and Fabian did a great job handling the operation and execution of the project. I am updating my review after the owner, Geno Gitas, reached out and offered to make things right by fixing the issue that had been plaguing us for 8 months, and doing so quickly and free of charge. By that time, I had written YES off and had scheduled an appointment with another contractor, but decided to give them another shot and I am glad I did. YES came out 3 more times debugging the issue (fault errors with no visible cause), and ended up removing and rewiring all panels, and replacing our 10-year-old racking system as a precaution -- all free of charge! It turned out 3 of the panels were not working properly but they were able to bypass them and restore service with the rest. This was 5 star service but since I still have some PTSD from the prior experience, I'll leave this at 4 stars. I really appreciated the intervention from Geno, though, and the follow through -- YES has re-earned my trust to consider them for future projects. read more

Before that, I had a very bad experience with multiple solar companies that were trying to push me to get into a contract and, during one of the inspections, broke our existing L2 charger. When I initially spoke with your energy solutions, representative praveen educated me on what was the correct approach in choosing solar plans. And there were no sales tactics to get me into contract. I felt very comfortable and completely understood what I was getting. During the inspection process, Fabian took care of all the coordination with the HOA and inspections to be done. He was prompt in updating us via email. Called us only when required. Installation was done in a couple of days. solar first, batteries next. Everything went well, except that during the installation, we had a wire cut through. Which was taken care of promptly by Rios. They've also fixed our L2 charger in the process. Recently I had a Enphase M250 micro inverter fail, called YES and let them know they called Enphase about a week or so I recieved the new IQ7 updated micro inverter it was my first failure in 10 years. So I call YES and they quoted me $900 to install new one because my 10 year warranty expired. Honestly it took me 40 min at the most to replace the bad one. That was the first one I've ever replaced so I'm thinking wow they wanted $900 don't see the justification. Anyway I called YES for technical advice and talk to Carter he said he'd call me back the next day but a week later still haven't heard from him. YES did a great job installing my system but since then they seemed to have lost their way. I recently came across this company Bright Saver that sells plug in solar its a DIY solar. I bought a net metering system and installed in my back yard. ANYONE can buy this type of solar whether you live rental, apartment or condo it's mobile so you can take it with you if you move. read more

I have worked with YES on installing the solar panels and battery storage system. I initially compared them to a couple of other contractors. YES were the only one who agreed to work with my tar-and-gravel roof with decent warranty (while the rest were like "oh your roof is tar and gravel? So sorry, one year warranty is the best we can do"). YES quote was pretty comparable price-wise to the other folks too, and they were not backlogged because they used their own solar panels. I signed the contract in Septemeber 2025, they promised to install by the end of 2026, or 20% discount (some tax incentives were expiring in the end of 2025, so it made a difference). In the end I decided to renovate the roof before installing solar panels. YES has worked with the roofers with very little coordination needed from my side. The timeline slipped to 2026 -- I think mostly due to roofers, permitting and the weather in the end of the year, but YES still honored their 20% discount. I was really pleased with how fast they got things done once they started the install, and with how neat the exposed parts of the system looked like. All the installation was done by their own crews (at least judging by the baseball hats the managers were wearing :)). Really the only thing I would ding them points for was their initial sizing of the battery for storage. On average, my household uses ~30kwh per day, judging by the pge bill. In the initial quote (I suspect to be comparable with other installers) they proposed a battery of 15kwh nominal capacity. I was like "this does not add up, let's put two batteries". They replied "well you are charging the battery for part of the day and discharge for part of the day, so 15 will be enough". I insisted on 2 battery, 30 kwh storage and said I want more blackout resilience. While I still have not actually tested how long it will last in an actual blackout, I can see in the app that the state of charge on a sunny day in Feb / March varies from 20% in the morning (default franklin minimum beyond which the battery does not discharge unless in a blackout) to up to 75% in the early afternoon, which means that 15 kwh would have been topped out. But one way or the other, they were very willing to work with what I wanted as a customer. read more

We had 37 panels installed in 2023 and a roof leak popped up in late 2025 right before the holidays. The leak was due to the mounts and uncovered punch holes (installers failed to cover holes with flashing). Calling Your Energy Solutions main number is a joke - no one answers and rarely if ever does anyone return a call -its so bad you can almost envision people watching the phone ring and laughing. Thankfully, I returned to the original salesperson John Darling who put me in contact with Ernest Cabanela who actually gets things done quickly if you persist on timelines over email/phone. I am still evaluating the balance of the roof and any internal damage from potential uncovered punctures on the other 34 panels. Stepping back its clear the original installation work done was very poor, the inside operations staff lacks any work ethic but thankfully there are a few good people are trying to stand behind their reputation. Wish I could offer a better review but the inability to process work in a timely fashion is a real problem. read more

Original installer company went out of business and went searching for a replacement company to help with an Enphase envoy gateway RMA/replacement. Manny Rios & the service department were great to work with especially considering the fact that my solar + battery system setup has been tricky to get working. Additionally, YES didn't try to upsell me stupid things like "solar panel washing" like other companies did. The price quote was reasonable for the work & time required (this instance required 2 onsite visits). I'd happily recommend Manny to other customers. read more

I had Your Energy Solutions install my solar panels and battery from enphase. Happy with everything at this point. Years later I needed an upgrade because I purchased an ev. Need more panels and the sales team got everything rolling. However, this time was a lack of communication between install team and me (customer). They didn't let me know there was an issue with the height and angle now. Hoa gave them some push back and this leaving me hanging. They finally told me after 6 months of waiting.... Not very happy with the out come. Could of told me the issue earlier and I could of found another company that can do the install. Now I missed the nem2.0 and forced into nem3.0 if I restart my search again. Sales team are good. The preliminary site survey team is good Install team needs better communication with the sales team to inform customers about issues. I have to lower my star rating because at the end, I'm not very happy with end result . And by the way, the neighbors with the same design house with the same pitch and height of the roof is exactly as mine had his solar panels installed just recently. read more

Where do I start? I was excited about this company since a friend had a solar system install 2 years ago and he recommended YES to me. Overall, it came down to expectations management. What I expected of YES and what my experience actually was. First was the initial sales consultation, I expected YES to call me at the agreed upon time for consultation. Nope, they did not call me and the consultant missed our scheduled meeting. I emailed YES and it was noted that no consultant was assigned to me. Maybe that should have been a red flag but I proceeded anyway. My sales consultant was Jason. Jason was great to work with and as a fellow veteran, he gave me a military discount. He answered all my questions between central inverters vs micro-inverters, different panel generations, etc. I was like, yes, my expectations and experience is matching up... Not so fast. After signing the contract, I was scheduled a site survey and someone from YES was suppose to call me. Again, no one called and looks like the ball was dropped internally. Finally, I was reassigned to a different project manager (PM) to Fabian. Fabian is quick to respond and answered all my questions throughout the design phase of the consultation. He called when needed and emailed me throughout the process until install day. After reading the various reviews on Yelp on what was dropped, I took notes to "manage" my project and because I have PM experience. Fabian was great to work with but he doesn't work in the field, rather he coordinated activities. From my experience, the PM would be on site and walk with the clients but maybe I have a different interpretation of what a PM is. The first day of install went fine except there was a miscommunication about using metal flashings and replacing my roof tile. When I looked at my design set, I assumed it would be the roof tile because it had a picture of it. Instead there was metal flashings which aesthetically was unappealing. I have a one story house so with the panels about 6 inches off the roof, you really see the metal contrast from the tiles. To be fair, the design also had metal flashings for "S" curved roofs but my tiles weren't S shaped. I relayed my concern to Fabian and during the second day of install, the team came and replaced the metal flashing with my tiles. And the install team did it in warped speed, making the necessary corrections and finished the install before noon. The lead installer from the second day was a pleasure to work with. He walked me through the work they did before departing. He had great customer service, I wish I remembered his name. The only complaint I have is clean up. I found pieces of my roof tiles in the yard, some water proofing paper, tar, and other roofing material in the front of the house. Not a lot but a quick sweep or rake would have cleaned up the work area. I realized the night after install, two outlets stopped working and a panel was installed crooked (see pic). I advised Fabian and currently waiting for someone to come take a look. It's been 7 days and it's been inconvenient since one of the outlets is in the master bedroom. On the bright side, he got the site inspection scheduled. 3/15/22: initial contact with Jason from YES 3/23/22: signed contract 4/11/22: site survey 5/4-5/22: installed solar system 5/12/22: site inspection 5/18/22: saw PG&E crediting for solar! I do enjoy the fact we got solar installed before the summer and we're now generating electricity. read more

We own a SunPower Solar Panel system that was installed about a year ago and unfortunately, they filed for bankruptcy. As a result we no longer have a warranty on labor and pretty much have had to navigate through endless phone calls, websites, blogs, etc. to understand our options moving forward. Driving to Costco one day, I discovered a local Livermore solar company called "Your Energy Solutions". The founder and owner, Jim, came out and met with me for quite awhile answering my general questions and how they might be able to assist me now and in the future. Jim was generous with his time with no upselling or pressure. We discussed a monitoring issue I was experiencing and the potential solutions he offered were feasible and practical. Some I could try on my own too. As it turns out the monitoring issue resolved itself. After getting so much run around and sales pressure from other potential vendors, speaking with Jim was a breath of fresh air. If I have future problems I won't hesitate to give them a call. P.S. I also found their front office administrator/ receptionist to be very helpful, pleasant, and professional too. read more
