    Cool Brightdrop work vans
    Damon L.

From start to finish, Electric Air was a pleasure to work with when we wanted to pamper our newborn with air conditioning this summer. I inquired on Electric Air's site and immediately was connected with Joseph on a Friday night via text. Throughout the weekend, we exchanged messages and even a brief phone call on my usage, size of the home, level of insulation, Midea versus Gree heat pumps and compared how an electric-only system would compare to the hybrid heat option other HVAC companies were pushing me towards. He even had a boba recommendation for me after hearing I was in Milpitas! Over the next few days, I weighed my options but decided on going through with Electric Air. As an engineer, I really enjoyed working with a team that thoroughly assessed my home and did a manual J calculation. We opted for a 2 ton Gree R32 system that would run more efficiently than the 3 ton systems the other guys were sizing for. My city has an additional incentive for changing to all electric and because I was considering adding solar in the near-term, this seemed to be the best option! Before the installation date, Electric Air handled all the permitting for me. On the day of the install, Jonathan and his crew Josue and Tenzing arrived to do the setup. I loved seeing their Brightdrop electric work vans - you can tell this company truly does buy into the clean energy revolution! The process took about 2.5 days - half a day quicker than estimated. On the first day, Jeremy and his team installed the air handler, heat pump and the electrical work. The second day was dedicated reconfiguring my ducts. The third half day was dedicated to starting the heat pump and getting readings from each vent. It's only been a few days since the install but I'm really pleased with the work. This is a very clean and professional crew with excellent work. I would not hesitate to work with them again when it comes time to do my water heater.

The Electric Air team was great. From the very first assessment visit through the installation of our heat pump, they were very professional and competent. They performed a detailed analysis of our home and determined we didn't need a new electrical panel and larger unit like another company quoted. Unrelated to their assessment visit, our furnace had a malfunction. I called Electric Air to ask for a recommendation for repair work and they sent one of their team members to our house within one hour and fixed the issue at no charge. That was really above and beyond. They did a great job of explaining all of the rebate and financing options. The installation team made sure all of our dampers were properly set and really wanted to make sure we were happy.

I went a bit overboard and gathered 10 quotes for a full 2 story home heatpump install. We have had no heating and cooling for about 4 years, and our furnace died on us. Our home was not very comfortable, especially in the colder months. For upstairs, I requested an airhandler, all new ductwork, and a new attic access to be cut (my old one is in a closet). For downstairs, I requested ductless cassettes to cover a bedroom and a larger living area. I got quotes all over the place and some contractors didn't even want to do ductwork. They just wanted to install ductless units and some wouldn't even give me a quote for downstairs. Some didn't want to frame a new attic access and some had fine print where permitting was not included or other testing. All in all, so far I really hadn't found a contractor I felt super confident about. I reached out to Electric Air towards the end of my quote journey, after seeing a reddit post somewhere. I saw some good feedback and I filled out their intake online. Within 15 or so minutes on a weekend at like 9PM, Joseph was texting me. I was shocked. He asked me a bunch of questions and gave me a rough ballpark quote. From there, we communicated back and forth and iterated on what I wanted. We nerded out on COP values, efficiency, unit sizings, etc. He listened to any concerns I had and provided assurance if some of my concerns were unfounded. I was still a bit on the fence, and Joseph actually offered to come to my house and do a quick onsite assessment (before putting a deposit down) so that the quote I was getting and any concerns or discrepancies can come to light. He took a bunch of measurements, showed me the calculations, and essentially we settled on a quote that was very fair. We iterated some more and settled on 2 Mitsubishi units (one for upstairs and one for downstairs), airhandler, cassettes downstairs, and some asbestos removal. Roman led a crew and they were amazing. Ontime, communicative, honest. Also, super clean. I was expecting way more drywall dust everywhere, but they did a really incredible job of trying to contain. Good people. When the plan had to change, he gave me all the options and provided really good alternatives. The job took a bit longer than expected, but that was because of 1 larger hiccup that honestly, isn't really anyone's fault, but I was very impressed by how Electric Air handled everything. The cassette installation did not fit between the joists. During the initial measurements, I had an area in my laundry room exposed and we measured the joists there (which showed enough room) - however, in the areas where the cassettes were actually going, the joists were a couple inches narrower, likely due to a longer span of the house holding more load. This was something myself and the assessment didn't really consider. It wasn't their fault really and it wasn't really my fault (I'm not a structural engineer). We settled on splitting the difference of the extra work, which was still pretty significant. Cutting joists, and retrofitting/reenforcing them to make sure my house doesn't tumble down on us. It was going to add several thousand to the cost. They did provide me the other option of using different ductless units, but we were set on the cassettes already for aesthetics. The work finished. These new Mitsubishi units are ridiculous. Super efficient, sized seemingly perfectly for our home, whisper quiet. I literally cannot hear them or the air handler. Very, very happy with them. When it's time to settle up, I get a call from Alex (one of their customer support) and he essentially tells me that they feel like they should have done their due diligence with the joists, and that speaking to the other leadership, they decided they did not want to charge me for the additional cost of installing the cassettes. I have to say, I was not expecting that. I appreciated the fact that they are using this as a learning opportunity. I think splitting the cost was still fair, but this went way above and beyond my expectations. There is absolutely NO contractor I know of who would do this. Ever. Some additional points of interest: Installing a heatpump system (or any hvac system) is a very expensive investment (tens of thousands). We're all looking to help offset some of that cost with rebates, etc. On top of Electric Air helping with rebates and any other financing, they actually prefer credit card (can someone say "sweet points"?), and they shave a bit off if you have a yard sign up for them. They were also very flexible with payments and timing, which is very much appreciated and I think an added bonus for dealing with a great company. If you are getting quotes for heatpump installs, you absolutely have to give these guys a chance. I cannot stress enough how I went through so many of the local/well reviewed hvac contractors, and Electric Air was definitely the best overall in terms of transparency, pricing, options, and flexibility.

We recently got a new Gree Flexx heat pump installed with Electric Air. We had a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. The entire team was knowledgable, professional and courteous. The CEO, Jeremy, was so hands on and you can tell he's passionate about the mission of the company. Our gas furnace needed an emergency replacement, and Electric Air not only had the most competitive quote, they were also willing to work with me on an accelerated timeline. They dropped off portable heaters 4 days before the job started because of my situation, and I'm so grateful for that! Jonathan, Daniel and Matt from the installation team were top notch and I couldn't be happier with the job they did. They went the extra We ended up selecting the Gree Flexx unit, and the performance of the system is great. They also set it up with my existing Nest thermostat, and it all works flawlessly. After installation, the quality of support and follow through was also unmatched. I would love to work with them again in the future if they expand their offering to include heat pump water heaters. We had a great overall experience with Electric Air, and would highly recommend them for your HVAC needs.

Our project manager, Arthur was on-time for the scoping appointment. He took time to understand our needs, investigated the attic, ducts and all the existing equipment, before making any recommendations. He also walked us thru the various rebates that are available for the replacements from local utilities. Arthur's quote was very competitive, in fact better than those quoted to us by Costco referred contractors. Nur's installation crew - Eldar, Bhakridin, were very professional and thorough. They didn't rush the job and left the job site clean and clutter free each day. They accommodated our requests for placing the electrical wires and conduits so they are not in the way. All the equipment both indoor and outdoor were cleanly laid out, secured and wiped down before hand off. Always smiling and respectful, one of the best installation crew we have had. As a white glove contractor they took care of all the permitting, inspection paperwork w/ the city, all the paper work for us to receive the rebates. They even completed the warranty registration with the manufacturers for all the equipment! We would highly recommend Arthur and Nur HVAC to anyone in the Bay Area needing heating and cooling solutions. We would definitely be going back to them ourselves when the need arises.
