The only downside was the lack of communication from the time we signed the contract to when they started the project. Otherwise, it was a very smooth experience. My floor gas furnace was installed by the previous owners of Bay Area Climate Control just a couple of years ago. While the current ownership of BACC does not install gas floor furnaces anymore, they still sent out someone to help fix it when it would not fire up. Zach came out the next day for an emergency visit as it was during the very frigid and cold snap in early Dec 2025. He reattached wiring that had been knocked off by a different construction company doing work in the crawl space and got the furnace working again. A couple months later, the furnace is still firing up quickly. He was friendly, efficient, thorough, and made sure to keep the inside of the house clean. Had a very smooth experience for fixing broken HVAC in our mobile home. We got immediate appointment for next day morning. Constantine arrived promptly and provided thorough explanation of the issue, including being straight forward about our maintenance habits that caused the issue. He also went out of the way to give some more maintenance tips to avoid these issues and also save some cost. He provided a detailed estimate of the fix along with setting the expectations for the time to get this fixed because of procuring the rare parts. I followed up with the company on the status of parts and subsequent appointment, and was smooth process throughout. The owner is an honest person who wants to do it right by you. We got into a very difficult situation after signing the 3 zone project but he stepped in directly to somehow resolve the situation. Everyone including the section 24 inspector was amazed by how good the installation was. Prior customers, BEWARE! The ownership has changed, and the new owner is doing all they can to avoid honoring warranties and contracts from the previous owner. Under the old ownership, we were guaranteed five years of warranty, including labor. This was always honored without fail by the company. Now, under the new ownership, the receptionist first tried to convince us that the warranty wouldn't apply. When we called out the illegality of this, they said that the warranty would only cover parts. We're still awaiting a response to the message they supposedly left the new owner, who is "out of the country". Our A/C is down, it's gonna push 95° today, and there is no real solution in sight. Don't do business with this company! It's not the company it used to be! read more

They fixed the problem, but communication with the customer needs improvement. Technician arrived whenever is convenient for them. Usually when the repair is complete, the technician checks to make sure it's working in the house. In my case the tech changed out the part then left. They figure is anything is wrong the customer will call back and let them know it's still not working. The problem with this is that if there was something wrong at the time of the repair, the tech could fix it right then instead of having to come back and have the customer take another day off. read more

Highly recommend these guys! My furnace had a short-cycle issue and I had another company come check it out only because they were able to come out earlier. However, I wasn't too sure that that company knew what they were doing as they diagnosed a faulty pressure switch that needed to be replaced. Considering I only moved in to this newly-built place two years ago...it just didn't seem likely, not to mention they went to check the roof vent and claimed it was not installed properly before arriving at the pressure switch issue. Anyhow, they charged me for a diagnostic fee of $99 and then quoted about $300 for pressure switch replacement. Good thing I decided to have BACC come out and give a second opinion. They actually did a proper flushing of the pipes and drainage and the furnace was working after that. Because of that, they admitted they still don't know exactly what was the issue but would warranty the visit should it occur again. Regardless, they saved me a ton of money on a pressure switch replacement (although I might've been able to do it myself). I trust their skills/knowledge and enthusiastically opted for their maintenance plan. This covered the diagnostic visit as well so the value gained was properly more than 3x the previous company's if not more if you factor in the misdiagnosis. These guys are solid and for those homeowners who forget to do proper maintenance, go with the maintenance plan! read more

I recently hired this company to install HVAC and had a positive experience. It has since helped my family survive the last 2 major heat waves. I highly recommend this company and here is why. Bill did a comprehensive inspection of my attic and offered me very honest opinions on which unit I should choose from. For example, he explained for a small home like mine, a two-stage furnace won't make much difference than a single stage while the rest companies I talked to just gave me two-stage by default. He also found out my existing wiring to thermostat only supports single stage due to lack of control lines. This helped me make an informed decision and avoided potential issues when running installations onsite. The whole installation took 2 days. Derek and his team did a professional job on replacing my furnace and installing the AC condenser under stairs. Derek was able to identify a kinked pipe before running the installation and got it fixed by just opening a small amount of drywall. His team also went above and beyond and concealed the pipe much better than the original plan. The folks were all very friendly and showed respect when dealing with my family members. They also cleaned up the site after the work. Overall, they did an awesome job in a reasonable cost. I will source them for my future HVAC needs for sure. read more

First, the good. A few months ago I called for help with my Nest thermostat. The young man was responsive, polite and professional. So much so that I called them back a few weeks later to look at damaged vents caused by rats. It was deep in the crawl space where I couldn't get to. A different guy came out but he said he found no evidence. Since insulation was blowing through the vent I knew that couldn't be the case. Made me wonder if he actually climbed back there. So, I followed up with exterminator who sent me the pictures (see below). I forwarded them along to follow up, but 10 days have passed and no reply at all. I had also previously asked for an estimate for an air conditioning install. He never responded to that either. I guess business is so good that don't need mine. read more

This review is long overdue. Our 40 year old furnace died in the second week of November and we frantically searched for someone to come out, get an estimate and get the work done. I contacted Bay Area Climate and Bill called me back quickly. Even though he was not able to come out until the week after and would not be able to install a new furnace until a few weeks after that, Bill spent at least 1/2 hour on the phone with me. What a wonderful professional! Bill gave me a list of things to ask the contractor we did use, told me what kind of furnaces to look for and even gave me an estimate based on what we needed done. I was so impressed! We did wind up using another company (simply because they could come out and do the install quicker) but if we ever need help again with HVAC, I am going to call Bill and Bay Area. We recently bought our first home (built in 1950) last year. It had been a rental for 13 years and we quickly found out some very questionable things had been done, including putting the heater return directly next to the kitchen/dining room without a sound loop from the garage (where furnace was located). It sounded like a jet engine. So we got 3 quotes from different companies - 1 big (too pushy and arrogant), 1 small/local (liked the guy, but he never followed up with a quote), and Bay Area Climate Control. Bill from BACC gave us an-over-the-phone ballpark estimates, then came out for an in-person estimate after the New Year. Bill is extremely knowledgeable, honest, responsive, communicative and NOT PUSHY. He encouraged us to compare quotes and be mindful about quality manufacturers. We planned on getting a new furnace, re-locating the return, and installing a whole house fan after tax season, but as luck would have it, our furnace died and we were freezing in our home. So I called BACC on a Monday they got us on the calendar the following week. The Installers, Derek and Kevin, were a great team. They were on-time, communicative, respectful of our home and did really excellent work. We appreciated them spending an extra day to get everything right instead of rushing to finish when we decided to do a dual return instead of a single. Somehow, Kevin made our plenum look way nicer than how he found it (which I wasn't expecting) and Derek was really patient and thorough when we had questions. The parts have a 10 year warranty, the labor has a 3 year warranty and all appropriate permits were pulled. Everything was above the board and done to code. Overall, we're very pleased with Bay Area Climate and would recommend them to anyone. P.S. We almost didn't take them up on the free estimate because when I made the original phone call, I was told they didn't do whole house fans (which we definitely wanted). For whatever reason, I decided to go ahead with the estimate and was happy to learn they DO install whole house fans! read more

This is a long overdue review. We contacted BACC towards the end of 2020 after having enough of baking inside being unable to open our windows due to the fires and smoke -- having a whole house fan works only when you have clean air to breathe, and our uninsulated Peninsula home built in the 40s simply cannot buffer against hot days -- 90+outside in the day means our house stays 85 degrees pst midnight if unable to ventilate it. Yes, we should insulate all our walls, but that's a messy project for another day. We worked with Bill for the AC estimate and he was great at giving us options to fit our existing blower and cut down on cost. He also explained what a new Infinity Carrier unit could and couldn't do with the mismatched Performance Series blower we intended to keep. We wanted a higher SEER unit that was quiet with a soft-start (to potentially allow for a battery solar connection down the road), and that's what we went with. The pricing was on-par to better than two other quotes we received. Moreover, the reviews from others spoke for themselves. The AC instal went well. It took about a day for them to cut in a new coil box, install the condenser, run the electrical, and the other lines to the HVAC closet. They discussed where the lines would run and the placement of the unit so it met city code requirements and our needs. The install wiring was a bit tricky because of the mismatch of blower and condenser unit, so the owner (Ryan) made a point to come out himself and fix a few things (on a Sunday, I might add) so the cooling stages and electrical worked as expected with our Nest unit to wrap things up that very weekend. We didn't need any duct work, but I'd trust them to do a good job with that as well. They handled all the permits and things passed inspection easily. Flash forward nearly a year later, and this AC unit is a godsend with smoke / fires yet again and being unable to open windows. I'm even thinking of giving them a call one of these days to fiddle with the duct fins in the attic and rebalance some of the rooms, as the prior owners oddly balanced some rooms disproportionately, and one room is now insulated and does not need as much airflow. I wouldn't hesitate to go with BACC if you're looking for a fair price and a skilled crew. If we ever move and HVAC work is needed, I'm not thinking twice before signing them up for whatever needs work. read more

As of this moment I have just turned on my new Mitsubishi mini split heat pump system which was installed by a competent team at Bay Area Climate Control. They were very careful to not disrupt any of the current renovation. It was necessary for them to navigate around several obstacles. They were kind, patient and gracious. They arrived promptly at 8:30 every single morning! Antonio, Uriel and Keith did most of the work. They helped me set up my thermostats and remote control units before they left. If you already know what a mini split system is, I recommend you look at this Mitsubishi product. I chose to add the Wi-Fi remote to the package. I live in an completely electric townhome-- no gas! Without my pellet stove this winter, it has been very cold. This Mitsubishi mini split system seems like it's going to be my answer to prayer.A major benefit is that one can control the temperature in one room at a time without wasting energy on the rest of the house. Bill, the sales technician, spent at least 45 minutes on the phone initially explaining how it would all work. When he arrived at the property he took pictures and we had another short visit. His explanations were clear and informative. You can count on Brenda, the office manager, to keep things in perfect order. Unless something unusual should go awry, I am totally pleased with this product and installation. I am delighted that I chose Bay Area Climate Control. He had all of the friendliness and professionalism of a commercial tech in a residential setting. That is so hard to find! Daniel arrived with a friendly demeanor but was totally all business in a good way. Even though a car was blocking underneath the furnace which was on the garage ceiling, he was able to grab a ladder and with some creative leaning, run some tests and figure out the problem (bad motor) within minutes.
