I was looking to add additional panels and went with YES. It was relatively quick and painless. Here's how fast everything went: 3/8/22 = Requested a quotes 3/13/22 = Talked to YES 3/15/22 = Received quote 3/17/22 = Accepted quote 3/24/22 = Roof inspection. This was important because I wanted to maximize the # of panels that could fit in my room. 3/30/22 = Roof inspection report came out and I decided to add more panels. 4/15/22 = Panels installed 4/25/22 = Passed City inspection As of 5/6/22, I'm waiting for the last step, which is PGE, but YES already submitted all my applications. Overall, very happy. Prices were competitive, and turn-around time of ~1 month between accepting the quote and getting the panels done was much faster than I had anticipated. My only recommendation/suggestion: the people that came to install the panels should have all the appropriate tools to clean up afterwards. They had to borrow my brooms to clean up. However, the rework of the array on the middle flat roof would require replacing the mounting posts and patching the holes of old mounts. YES would not pay for that. My solar system had a faulty gateway that Enphase confirmed was defective and since it was under warranty they sent a replacement and assigned Your Energy Solutions to replace. The replacement cost is not covered by the warranty so I was expecting and willing to pay out of pocket. I was put in touch with Carter who took my info and said he'd be in touch. After not hearing from them for weeks I tried contacting them again. I called everyday for 2 weeks but could never get it touch with a person and went straight to voicemail and regardless, left a message every day hoping they had integrity and business ethics. When not a single call was picked up or a single voicemail returned, I called from my wife's phone and of course it was answered. They were purposely screening my calls! I understand if this job is too small but they could have just said as much instead of being jerks. On a side note, I believe they should not be the certified Enphase repair company if they are not willing to honor the warranty of the products. Of course they will take business from Enphase but when it comes to honoring warranties as a reseller they are not interested and go out of their way to ignore you. Where there is smoke there is usually fire. Non-existing communications, not honoring warranty repair as part of their reseller network, poor customer service. I'm a little late in posting this. YES installed panels on our home late 2021. I highly recommend YES for your solar installation. I had a somewhat unique situation. My home, that I purchased a few years ago, came with a vintage PV system that was over 20 years old, unproductive and in need of replacement. It needed to be replaced. But in replacing the old system, I had to have it removed and disposed of--not an easy task. I also had to have my roof replaced which complicates the process a bit. I'm also an energy professional and have some insight into the various attributes of PV panels and thus wanted a specific PV brand, and technology. I'm also rather particular about who is going to be doing work on my property. Specifically, I want a company that will do quality work, understands what they are doing and have a track record of satisfied customers. I talked to six different companies and YES stood out. They were the only company that would handle the old system. Most wouldn't even touch it. One wanted to charge me for it (I would be OK with that if their quote plus removal was competitive--which it was not). They worked with the technology I wanted. They were extremely knowledgeable about the tech and industry. They were also very responsive: one of their principals, Jim Gitas, took the time to personally talk to me and answer all my questions, and help me dial in the project. This was not the case with any of the other companies. I also appreciated that Jim was not a high-pressure type of salesman (unlike another company's principal who basically said that unless your project is interesting to me, I don't want to do it). I moved forward with YES and didn't regret it. From the initial site survey, to the old system removal, to the installation of the bracket supports after the roof tear off, to the installation of the system after shingle install, the the fire and county inspection, and the PG&E coordination, the YES team was professional, efficient and pleasant to work with. They provided a rooftop solar system for our home in San Francisco. On the positive side, they got our application processed in time for NEM 2.0. The system was affordable, better price than competitors, and is working great now that it is installed and connected. It took 9.5 months from when I signed a contract with YES to have an operational solar system. It was sold to me as a 9 week project. After my initial negative review they assigned Franki to assist and he really has been amazing. He provides responses when he says he will, I am not being ghosted anymore, and if it wasn't for him, I have no doubt it would still be unfinished. But, I finally have a fully permitted, operating solar system and for that I'm happy. I wish that Franki didn't have to shoulder the burden for what was otherwise an awful process. But, because of his diligence, I raised my stars from one to two. My first project manager (Paul) scheduled appointments where people never showed up. He went on vacation and never came back. My next project manager (Fabian) left for medical leave. My third project manager (Celeste) did not reply to emails. I would have to follow up multiple times over the course of weeks before I got a reply, if I got one at all. They had to submit my plans to the building department multiple times and they keep getting rejected, and permits denied, which just tacks on more time. Even the supervisor of the department (Earnest) was brought into my project after the first two project managers went nowhere (at month 4, when I still had the adorable hope of having an operating system within the same year I signed the contract) and he personally promised he'd make sure it would get done, and yet, despite him being copied on all emails, he never lifted a finger to respond. It's not hard to tell a customer is agitated when they've sent a 3rd follow up email over the course of 3 weeks simply asking for an update and yet, he apparently couldn't be bothered to either motivate his project manager to do their job or to reply directly. Same goes for Jim Gitas, the President of the company. He's been copied on most emails as the months have ticked upwards and yet I never received a direct response, intervention, or resolution by him. When I literally sent a breach of contract notice and a demand for mediation (which I negotiated into the agreement), not even then did Mr. Gitas get involved, despite that the communication was addressed to him directly. So, just know, it is from the top down with this company that your experience and be uniformly awful, with the exception of Franki who has been wonderful. While they may have done a good job for others based on their Google and Yelp reviews, my experience has been mostly awful, absolutely awful. From missed appointments, to unresponsive project managers, to an excessively long period of time to have an operational system on my house, literally no part of this process has gone smoothly and has not required me to invest a frustrating effort to try and understand what is happening, why, and when. For context, I am in Sacramento and use SMUD. My system has 34 LG panels, an Enphase IQ8 inverter, and a level 2 juice box for an electric vehicle. read more

Checking my Enphase monitoring all the time has quickly become an addiction and annoying my wife already :). Picture attached showing what some of the monitoring looks like. Angel's crew did high quality work and they were fast and professional! Daniel is a pro at designing these complex battery systems! Owners Jim and Lou are a joy to work with as well. With our solar panels and batteries we are now pretty much liberated from dependence on PG&E. If they decide to cut power, or a transformer blows we will still be able to work and the items in our fridge won't spoil like last year during a planned blackout. The backup power is a must since my wife and I both have home offices and my daughter is still doing school partly from home due to the pandemic. We are also now financially independant from PG&E. We charge our batteries during the day from our solar and use the stored energy at night when PG&E jacks up their rates. I now plan to add to my electrical usage - an electric heat pump for the pool/SPA to replace my busted gas heater, and maybe once costs come down a bit I'll get an electric vehicle to maximize my use of my solar energy. On our tile roof, Your Energy Solutions used a robust waterproofing method when they mount the panels, topped off by a replacement flashing that is the same shape as our existing flat tiles. I'm pretty sure the portion of my roof where my solar panels are mounted is in better shape than the rest of my roof! We couldn't be happier with our choice to go with Your Energy Solutions (YES) for our solar project. I had originally planned to do a DIY solar install on our home with the help of our neighbor. That is, until we decided to do a major remodel to our home and add a floor. We ended up with a roof with way too many angles and would require a very complicated install with many groupings of panels as opposed to just two rows 9-10 panels, like on my neighbors house. We put off adding solar for years. Now, that we own two EV's and have $600/mo. PG&E bills, we decided to add solar and get in just before the deadline to be on the NEM 2.0 plan. We chose to go with Your Energy Solutions in April 2023. They had the best reviews on yelp and had really good follow-up communications while we were trying to decide. I was impressed by how organized their project management team was in keeping me informed during the whole process. Celeste kept me informed about the timelines for "permitting" and making sure that we got submitted before the NEM 2.0 deadline and scheduling the site inspection along with the installation date. Our installation date was set for mid-June. The yellow team (Eric, Anthony, Samuel & Carlos) were the best! These guys blew me away. I couldn't believe that they completed our installation in less than two days! Our roof is facetted and required that they remove our pool thermal panels and install 43 PV panels in 9 separate groupings. By the end of day two they were finished and our solar array was producing power feeding the grid. We had already purchased the paint to match our stucco and trim, so they also had the conduit paint matched as well. The only thing I would do differently is that I wish I had asked about energy consumption monitoring. I assumed it was included in the system. The Enphase app only shows me the production of the system. From what I have read online, it sounds like I would need to pay to have something called a CT installed to see our consumption on the app. For now, I can just login to my PG&E dashboard to see our consumption. They got the job done eventually, but their level of service has been mediocre-at-best. When I decided to get solar, I wanted to go with a company that provided quality service, knowing I was making a big investment in my home. I liked the reviews that YES got on Yelp, and when I spoke with the salesman, he told me that while YES might not be the cheapest solar provider out there, they would offer top quality service for the price. The former proved to be true, but the latter was far from it. Almost as soon as I signed the contract, I realized I had been hoodwinked, as my account was transferred from the very responsive salesman to the not-at-all responsive "project manager." From there, it was just one headache after another. They scheduled the site visit to review my property, then had to cancel and reschedule, then came out, then told me they'd have the design ready in a week, then a week later they said they actually didn't measure everything they needed and said they'd come out again in yet another week. Eventually I just measured things myself so they wouldn't drag things out forever. Then they had to apply for the permit, which they told me they did, and then they came out to do the install. The actual install of the panels only took a few hours. I was impressed with how quickly they worked, though less impressed when I saw the amateur-looking work they did with the roofing tiles, and the amount of garbage they left behind on my lawn. After this, they said they'd schedule the city inspection in 1-2 weeks. A week and a half later I messaged them to ask if they had scheduled the inspection. They told me they couldn't schedule the inspection because the city didn't issue the permit yet. They told me it was a totally normal thing for them to do the install before they had the permit in hand, but honestly it still sounds pretty sketchy to me. But they told me they'd follow up with the city the next day and get back to me. Then they didn't respond to my messages for another 2 weeks. Then they finally scheduled the inspection for a week later, though they couldn't promise that, because the city only schedules inspections one day in advance. So eventually the system passes inspection, and I do have what appears to be a fully functioning solar system. I had a simple question about my online solar monitoring, and it took them 2 weeks to respond, but they did respond. Our panels passed inspection! From Jose and his team doing a great job on the install and David doing a final check before the inspection we've had an excellent experience. Jose did a great job of minimizing the impact of the conduit on the appearance of the house, and showed lots of patience when connecting the system up to our WIFI. David was a pleasure to talk to. He checked everything, gave us useful info about our new system, and set up for an efficient inspection. It was easy to tell that the city inspector knew and respected David's work. David had also planned for a possible required correction, so when a 2nd grounding rod was needed, he sprang into action , saying," Give me 10 minutes" --- and the inspector was able to pass the whole installation without further delay. YES installed LG solar panels with integrated microinverters installed. The LG panels come with 25 years warranty and YES also provides an additional roof warranty. Praveen the sales contact person was very caring and friendly praveen@yourenergysolutions.com. He went over in detail with all options. Fabian (Project Manager) and Alejandra (project coordinator) were wonderful with coordinating the construction portion including the permit, construction crew, follow up on any questions I had. Honest people do deal with. Franki was very helpful and informative at every stage of the project. My installer company went out of business and I had to find a new company to take over. They helped me with my solar repair project which almost no companies wanted to touch hands. Price was good, promptness was excellent, job was very clean. Glad to see that there are decent companies in this highly saturated area. read more
