In both appointments, Pivot Point Academy made sure to evaluate me thoroughly to ensure that nothing was applied to my face that shouldn't have been; meanwhile, I was provided a well-rounded, hybrid experience of hydration, relaxation and breakout treatment. My esthetician was named Aliya, named after the singer Aaliyah. Aliya was not only skilled, but also very considerate of all of the components of what makes a good customer experience. She was sweet, thorough in both her approach and her application of the product, had good massaging techniques, was generally attentive to detail, and exhibited a wealth of knowledge that she's managed to learn within just a few months of practice. If I do book with Pivot Point again, Aaliya is definitely the one for me.

Despite specifically asking for my nails to be cut and shaped, that was never done. The student took her time, but the entire service felt rushed and uninterested, as if she didn't want to be there. The pedicure itself was far below what I've experienced at other student salons. There was no heel scrub, no spa-like experience, and the water didn't even have bubbles. To make matters worse, there was a hair floating in the water. Instead of changing the water, it was simply removed with a towel and the service continued. What bothered me the most was the no-chip removal process. Rather than properly soaking the polish off, a rough nail file that felt like a piece of sandpaper was used repeatedly on my nails. It was uncomfortable, actually hurt, and left me questioning whether proper removal techniques were being followed. I've visited several student salons before and understand that students are learning, but this experience was nowhere near the standard I've come to expect. I left disappointed and would not return or recommend it to others.

I do think most people make appointments I tend to just wing it and walk in. This place is appropriate for men, women, and children. To me it's just like a real salon but they have more hands-on help available if they need it . They are very professional and very passionate about what they're learning. I'm a real client but I'm also going to say don't forget to tip. They work hard. don't tip 20% because seriously you are saving so much money.

The program has exposed my kids to a variety of music they might never have listened to otherwise and helped them learn about the history and foundations of rock, jazz, metal, and pop. I think the focus on performance has helped to keep them from plateauing and given them something concrete to work toward. They're also able to work on personal projects and goals with instructors. Eric, Cyndi, Brandy, and Kyle are very warm and welcoming. I've talked the most to Eric and Cyndi--you can tell they really care about the families of School of Rock. They've also been very understanding of the fact that our family had a really rough winter/spring and sometimes practice fell by the wayside. Mathieu has been an absolute inspiration to my daughter. He's helped her lean into her strengths while nudging her into improving her weaknesses. Ian has the patience and good humor of a saint because my son is not an easy kid to teach. Somehow Ian has figured out a good approach that has encouraged my son to try difficult things without the kind of pressure that makes him dig in his heels. Every performance director they've had has been super encouraging, even when the going gets tough. Johnny, their most recent director, was just the nicest guy even when the kids were struggling. I'm really glad we gave School of Rock a try. It's been a meaningful and positive addition to our lives and I'm grateful for the kids' experiences there.

She is very sensitive and had strong aversions to water when she started, but the teachers helped her feel at ease, slowly introducing her to the water and letting her go at her own pace. Thanks to their excellent and responsive teaching, she has mastered skills I thought would take years in just a matter of weeks. She LOVES swimming now and feels so proud of everything she is learning. And as a mom who also loves swimming and highly values water safety, it's such a reassurance to know she is in good hands. My daughter is also sensitive about male teachers, and when I called Bear Paddle to request female teachers only, Mona was SO kind, empathetic, and accommodating. She reassured me that this is a totally normal thing to ask for and that they were happy to help. Every time we've spoken to a staff member, they have been generous and helpful in finding us class times that work for our family, getting us on wait lists, etc. I can't recommend this swim school enough!
