As someone who was born and raised in Milwaukee, I've had my fair share of great barbecue over the years--but I can honestly say your ribs are among the best I've ever tasted. The smoky flavor was incredible, the seasoning reached all the way to the bone, and the tenderness was absolutely perfect. Every bite was packed with flavor. In fact, I would put your ribs above some of Milwaukee's longtime favorites, including Speed Queen, Ashley's and Double B's. That's not a statement I make lightly. I was so caught up in the menu and ordering that I didn't realize that I was never asked what side I wanted and my $18 food truck meal side was a slice of white bread, see my pictures. I smelled smoke when I drove up and I saw the smoker smoking away and my experience with bbq all over the country is if you smell smoke you have a 75% chance of decent bbq. As I looked at the ribs it was only 3 bones for $18 which I thought was steep for a food truck. My second thought was I don't see a smoke ring on the ribs at all which was odd because I saw the smoker in action. I tried the tostones which was fresh/tender/good and not hard like some places in the past and you get 3. My choice of side which was a slice of white bread toasted white left me feeling ripped off because I didn't get a choice side, shame on them. The Puerto Rican rice was cooked perfectly with nice texture of the rice and maybe pigeon peas with a nice garlic flavor. The no smoke ring smoked ribs had no smoke flavor at all and they just were cooked ribs covered in sauce. The ribs were tips on meaty with that nice chew that that I like and fall off the bone, not the mushy steamed meat kind. Overall I drove 16 miles for Puerto Rican food that was not as the menu stated and I felt it's over priced and ripped off because food was missing and not smoked at all, big swing and a miss. Why this food experience went south and the 1 star review I left I always say it depends on what you order and what kind of the day the restaurant is having and maybe when you try them you will have a better experience than mine.
