So happy we dropped in for a date night. Mi Casa Su Cafe is such a welcoming place. My spouse and I ordered the shrimp and grits 2 for 1 special on Tuesdays and it was delicious. We moved to MKE from down south a bit over 2 years ago, and finding anything comparable was a reach. Do yourself a favor, skip the trendy spot downtown that is apparently known for their shrimp and grits, and drop in to Mi Casa for some grits that are creamy and seasoned to perfection. Eating here felt like walking into your favorite relatives house. Shoutout to staff for making us feel like regulars. So happy y'all are nearby. We will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes.

Sizzling hot. Made freshly upon ordering.

The establishment offers a warm and welcoming "Home Away from Home" atmosphere. It's a place where you can feel at home and share everything. If you're not seeking a cozy environment or live music, this may not be the right place for you. All dishes are prepared fresh, and it's a restaurant run by a black owner, although initially mistaken for a Mexican restaurant. Yes, the things I think, I know. On Sunday, April 21, 2024, I dined at this establishment for the first time with my church family. The staff were friendly, but they couldn't fulfill all our requests. Despite that, we enjoyed a delicious meal and had a moment for prayer and socializing.

Love this place. One of the few places in Milwaukee where I consistently get great food for a decent price. You know the reason why ? It's black owned and as the owner/chef, he strives for perfection every time. Service is always friendly and ambiance is super chill. They always have some upbeat music or jazz playing and some very comfortable seating. Food might take a while, but it's worth the wait.

The catfish sandwich (at least the half that we didn't wolf down immediately).

Great experience - Ordered the catfish sandwich which was well seasoned, piping hot and included better than average fries. Also ordered the Jerk Chicken Burrito with the upgraded garlic parmesan fries. The burrito was huge, seasoned wonderfully and had savory jerk sauce. Everything was served hot and fresh. Very good eats. We peaked through the pass thru to see the lounge. Looks like a great spot to a spirit and music during the cocktail hour. This restaurant and space is a secret gem overall.

Omg the food top notch. One thing I would note to be honest.... We sat and waited for even a drink 20 min but when I did get his attention he was very nice and attentive after and the wait was well worth.

Service was good the waitress was very nice the only bad thing was the coffee was nasty and the chicken and waffles were not that great but the catfish bowl was amazing !

If you are in Milwaukee this place is a must stop for breakfast or lunch, whatever your jam the food was amazing! Staff was awesome, couldn't have been more helpful and inviting! We stopped in on whim NYE morning from our hotel looking to grab some brunch before a big night out, could not have been more surprised by how good the food was, my girlfriend had the Philly cheese steak bowl with eggs, she loved it, plenty of steak smothered in cheese full of flavor. I had the shrimp n grits, (don't hesitate to order the large you will find room) filled with large shrimp, and mouthwatering flavors it was legit! Best shrimp n grits I've had outside of Louisiana, that's a stretch for me, since I compare everything southern cooking to LA. You won't be disappointed this place is the real deal!

Ooohhh weee. Jerk chicken burrito was top tier especially with the jerk sauce. I also ordered French toast and it came with fresh strawberries it was delicious as well. Highly recommended restaurant to say the least. I'll be back next time I'm in Milwaukee.

I love my wine or a nice cocktail and was pleasantly surprised with the wine slushy! It was delicious! The fried lobster tail was cooked perfectly and the Mac and Cheese was good a little different with penne versus pasta...Not a huge fan of the cabbage.. too sweet for me but overall my food was good. The hubby also enjoyed his perch. The ladies were nice and helpful.

It came with the Mexican Rice and Cowboy Beans and churros for dessert. I also got the Rudy's classic margarita. We didn't see the waitress too much but they might've been busy or maybe she was the only one on staff. She was super nice though and got all of our orders correct. When we asked to split the checks at the end, it was sort of odd that they divided everything evenly, including drinks and put 1/4 of each drink on each check. The guacamole was nice and fresh and came with little tortilla strips on top which I took off to dip the tortilla chips in. The queso was nice, salty, and well seasoned. The Margarita was delicious, well blended, just strong enough and a nice size. As far as tacos, The Argentinian steak taco was definitely my favorite. The meat was cooked perfectly and very well seasoned. The El Pastor was also very flavorful and the avo vinaigrette that came on it paired well with the dish. The shrimp on the crispy shrimp taco were big and flavorful, just a little on the dry side. The rice and beans were pretty standard, nothing super special or memorable. The churros came out warm, nice crunch on the outside and soft in the middle. The white dipping sauce reminded me of cereal and the darker one was a chocolate with almost a mole sauce type taste. Super fun place and I would definitely come back!

They specialize in elevated street tacos and small plates. Tuesdays have $2 tacos and Thursdays have $3 tacos, and the kitchen stays open later than most, midnight Tuesday through Thursday and 1:30am Friday and Saturday. They had space for our group, but could only split the bill two ways, and gratuity was automatically added for groups of 6 or more. I was the first to arrive and was asked to wait at the bar since they couldn't seat us until everyone in the party was there. I ordered the Hibiscus Lime Margarita. It was refreshing, and I would order it again. Our table had multiple baskets of chips and salsa, and I added a bowl of queso fundido (chihuahua cheese, pepper jack cheese, corn salsa, paprika, and cilantro). My end of the table went through it quickly. For my meal I had two tacos, the Gringo Pollo (part of the Thursday special) and the Tuna Poke. Both came with items removed at my request and were tasty. Service was quick, and Oliver was friendly. Prices are reasonable, though a bit higher than I'd prefer. This would be an occasional fun spot for me, not my go-to taco place.

The menu features small bites, chicken, loaded fries, and they have specials too. I ordered at the counter and got a text once my food my was ready. There's plenty of seating inside the brewery and the interior is unique because it used to be a church. Don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure it was at some point. Anyway, I had to try the birria egg rolls because there was a ton of signage. First, they were quite large. The exterior had a great crunch and the interior was stuffed full of delicious birria, mozzarella, and chihuahua cheese. The ancho chipotle aioli was nice and smoky and paired well with the eggrolls. Definitely recommend and I wish I lived in the area because I could make a meal out of just these. I also tried one of the specials, the Chicken Tinga eggrolls. Again, they were bigger than expected, had a delicious, crispy exterior, and was stuffed full of chicken tinga and queso. It was served with a side of crema. Perfect pairing and I might have enjoyed these slightly more than the birria ones. I highly recommend that you check them out. I'm jealous that I don't live closer because we don't have a place like this in KC. They are definitely a unique place with delicious food.
