Glaring discrepancies: - the men's bathroom stalls don't stay locked efficiently and have a peek-a-poo gap you can use both eyes to see through. They'll spend money on fake plants, yet won't fix what's needed (this applies to other issues as well) - so far this summer, the outside "hot tub" is either disgusting, jets don't work, flooded with kids under 12 (there's a rule against that), or it's closed off - when it's busy, you'd swear no one in the greater Tulsa area is going to any other gym at that moment - it's succumb to the "Premium" disease. Some things you can't do unless you pay more - and a general membership is already pricey - if you want to play pickleball - good luck. They change the schedule of when the courts are available for whatever types of players. If it's free play, you might end up waiting awhile before you play again. There's only 3 courts. That's all for now. I'm sure there's other issues. Those are just from my lens. Two stars simply because it has so many services. Think "Costco" of gyms. It's got a dystopian feel and it's up to you how much kool aid you want to drink.

When I called the business office to ask if I could put my membership on hold for a few months, the lady who answered the phone was rather rude. I asked about pausing my membership and she said in a harsh rather scolding tone that I couldn't cancel a membership over the phone but would have to go in. I told her I didn't ask about cancelling but pausing. She said there's no pausing, again in a harsh tone. I might join again when I have more time. I had been told a couple of years ago that I could pause for a couple of months. I guess they changed that policy.

There is plenty of space and equipment to accommodate everyone comfortably. - I love that parking is quick and easy. (I was a tad worried about the 71st street traffic when I initially saw the address... but it's actually a bit removed from mall traffic... so the traffic had never been an issue for me.) - I love the 24/7 access pass. As a female, I feel very safe... even later in the evening if I'm the only one there. It's very secure. - Everyone's been very friendly, considerate... and everyone is REAL... I workout with REAL people (they don't look "plastic" or "photoshopped")... they are real people who take their goals seriously. Everyone you meet at Styrka is there to better themselves... and it's totally fine wherever YOU may be in that self improvement process. Even if you're just starting out, or it's been a while... and you're trying to get back into the swing of things... you WILL feel welcomed and supported... no matter your skill level. - It's very clean and tidy. The bathrooms are always clean and people are really good about tidying up after themselves. Love that! - Another cool thing about this place, if you have a question... people around are happy to help. (That might be the best part... that Styrka is a community...) It's not impersonal... you don't get lost in the crowd... And you actually get to put names with smiling faces. One final tip: If you are newer to the gym or if the correct form has always been a bit of a mystery to you... it's worth investing in some sessions with one of the trainers that work out of Styrka. Even just a little bit of coaching will boost your knowledge and confidence immensely. Don't suffer in silence. Having an expert guiding you puts you on the fast track to RESULTS! Staff conduct: I personally witnessed behavior from staff toward clients and other employees that felt inappropriate and made people visibly uncomfortable -- behavior that, in my view, crossed the line into harassment. This is not something I'd expect from a professional fitness facility. Facility maintenance: The equipment has clearly not been well maintained or replaced since Genesis took over ownership several years ago. The air handlers seem to be under repair on a near-constant basis, and I've noticed multiple signs of water leaks around the facility. I can't confirm what's causing them, but the visible water damage raises real concerns about air quality and potential mold, and I think it deserves a proper inspection. Loss of trainer: A master trainer I had been working with and was very satisfied with was recently terminated without any explanation offered to clients, which disrupted my training plan. Billing and refund practices: When I signed up, I wasn't asked to sign a contract, and I paid all fees in cash/card at the front desk without ever receiving a written receipt. At no point was I told the payment was non-refundable. When circumstances changed and I requested a refund, I spoke with Travis Wood in admin, who refused outright with no willingness to discuss the situation. Given everything above -- the lack of documentation, the refusal to refund, and the state of the facility -- I'd encourage anyone considering this Genesis to get everything in writing before paying, and to think carefully before committing.

Instead they have very unique isolation machines for multiple muscle groups. I got a day pass and soundly thinking of getting it for two months while I'm in town. I cancelled today (June 25). That means I was a member for 6 months and was exempt from the $25 cancellation fee. Just minutes after I cancelled my membership on the app, my bank was charged another $14 for the month of July. Apparently it was in the fine print of the sign up documents that they would do this. Here is the email I received from their Customer Support: Hello Michelle, The terms on the membership are a 30 days' notice for cancellation. Anything owed up until the date of cancellation and any payments set to draft in the next 30 days are owed. We apologize that you were unaware of this policy as it is in the membership agreement signed at the start of each membership. We love having you apart of the VASA Fitness family and want to have you stick around! We wanted to offer a one month credit to your membership if you'd like to stay. Please let us know if you'd like to have the one month credit placed, or continue with cancelling your membership.
