    Salad Roll $10
    Robbie R.

I'm in the Reno area for work next week and I arrived a little early to spend some time with a friend that lives locally. He wanted to take me to his fave Thai restaurant in Reno. It's a Sunday and Yu De Thai actually opens where most Thai places seemed like they close on Sunday. They open at NOON on the weekends I guess. Closed on Tuesdays, seems like a weird day to close, but I do notice a lot of other restaurants close on Tuesday as well for some reason. We get there and there's already other tables of diners there. The inside is light and clean, not all super Thai decorated like other Thai places. There good light for food pics! It's kinda weird, there's Dean Martin music playing! My date already had in mind what to order. I browsed the menu, but left it up to him to order. We started with these spring rolls, they call them Salad rolls though. It was beautifully presented and came with a peanut and a sweet dipping sauces. This was a very good starting dish, I liked it. Next was a dish he said he was excited to get and no one else has anything like it. It's called Zaap Wings, deep fried huge wings covered in a Thai BBQ sauce. It's from Northern Thailand I'm told. Holy moly, what a sight when they came out, the wings are stretched straight with the drumette paddle and tip all straight. It came with a knife to cut it up. The server was even thoughtful enough to bring a roll of paper towels, cause we sure needed them. Just dig in caveman style! OMG, were these tasty! Then we got a dish called Prik Kling or something liker that. I have had this dish before at a place in SoCal and in Vegas, but this version with chicken was the best I ever had, it's all in the sauce they make it with. The chicken was cooked tender and not over cooked and a pile of basil on top. I love basil! To top our lunch off, we had house made Thai tea ice cream along with house made coconut ice cream. Wow, this was a super nice dessert to share. The Thai tea ice cream was more light and not dense creamy like gelato, more refreshing like that. I gotta say this really is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to!

This was my first time coming here. The restaurant is small and cozy and very clean. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The waitress was attentive and friendly.

Another spontaneous Girl's Night Out Dinner at our favorite Thai. The dishes are always delicious. Food is fresh and hot and tasty. Tonight she got her usual Chicken and Veggies with extra sauce to soak into the rice. I noticed a menu item I would normally pass by cuz I'm not a fan of pork belly as the texture is too mushy/fatty for my liking. He promised it would be crispy. Not wrong! Chunks of crispy and crunchy belly and basil and spice level was perfect. Green beans didn't disappoint either.

This was the perfect spot for a Thai food craving, especially if you want a sit down meal but on the quicker side. It's kind of small inside but cute, clean, and well laid out. Everyone was friendly and efficient (very fast service all around), and our server did a great job of balancing attentiveness with space for our conversation. On a random note, the playlist in the background was awesome and the volume level was not intrusive or too loud. Food wise, the spice levels were much better (spicier) than some other Thai restaurants in town who won't really go beyond the average white person's tolerance, so the heat at Yu De Thai was refreshing (p.s. to fellow white people: don't order spicy food and then complain when it is in fact, spicy!). Both of our meals were delicious and I would definitely go back - there are so many dishes to choose from.

Ordered from here on door dash before so I wanted my husband and I to try it out in person. This place is super cute and small. It was a very relaxing experience so if you're having a rough day or need to go somewhere to unwind I would suggest this place. The music and ambiance is very soothing which I know may seem weird but it's true! My husband got the crispy noodle pad Thai and I for the regular pad Thai. We got level 2 spice and for me, it was a bit too spicy. I can't imagine how hot level 5 is! Overall, I would definitely recommend give one this place a try. Staff were very friendly, professional and attentive. We were in and out of there in less than an hour which was really nice.

Service was wonderful, they were patient yet attentive. We even got a dad joke for free entertainment. The Thai Spicy Basil and Eggplant were delicious, with good portions. We took advantage of their lunch menu on a cold snowy day!

So funny! Silver hair gentleman walked up and offered us suggestions since it was our first time. Didn't realize he was the owner and our server! Cute little place seemed popular but we still got in at 5:30 on a Saturday. We had chicken satay, it was really good but the shrimp special (zig zag) appetizer was top notch. Tom kha soup was good but a little small on the portion for four. Owner talked us in to their "crunchy" pad Thai. Great flavor but missed the traditional rice noodles. Papaya sales was pretty spicy at a 2 but very tasty. Yellow curry had great flavor. DON'T miss out on the fried bananas and chocolate lava cake with house made coconut ice cream! Delicious!

Been back a few times since my last review and now again for lunch with friends. Food and service was great again. The three of us ordered off of the lunch menu specials and each chose pad Thai with our own selection of proteins. My tofu and veggies Pad Thai was wonderful and delicious. Just the right tang and it was not too sweet (my preference). My friends enjoyed theirs too. The lunch specials (fairly priced too!) are served with a small portion of soup and a salad. Perfect for light eaters, but may not be for a hungrier person. Nice place to meet up because you can hear one another during conversations and the dining room is pleasant and comfortable. I will come back more often and my friend who had never been there said she was happy to now know about the restaurant!

The food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! I did a mobile order and it was ready exactly when it said it would be. The employees were very friendly and the store was very clean. The food was so delicious I cannot stop thinking about it. It was so flavorful!! I will definitely be coming back here and am looking forward to my next visit!

I finally made it into Yu De Thai, and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the Chicken Penang Curry, level 3 spice... just enough heat for this girl without going overboard. The flavor, the texture, the care in the dish--you can really taste the love in their cooking. I even told the owner it made me feel like I was back in Thailand. It was nostalgic, comforting, and so full of depth. The restaurant is run by the sweetest couple who truly make you feel welcome. And the price? Great value for the quality and portions. This place is a gem, and I'm already planning my next visit (and bringing family and friends with me). If you're looking for real Thai food in Reno, Yu De Thai is it. Nice ambiance, videos of Thai street cooking, so fun to watch! Thank you Yu De Thai, family... see you next week.

I got food from here twice last week - one pick up and one dine in and man oh man, this place has officially become my favorite Thai place in Reno! So much flavor in everything they serve. The staff is also so kind. I like how it's also small, really gives that mom and pop vibe.

This is the place I get my thai food fix in town! Yu De Thai is a local owned small restaurant that serves delicious Thai food. I find myself craving their pad thai from time to time. And their curries are delicious too. Their staff is attentive and you can either dine in or order to-go. There is plenty of seating inside. There's a parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking since it's located in a shopping plaza. My go-to order includes the papaya salad and chicken pad thai. I will warn you their food is pretty spicy. My sister and I ordered a level 2 spice on their pad thai and it was way too spicy for us (and we thought we could handle spicy really well), it was too spicy to the point that we couldn't finish it although it was very delicious. I still would come back to get their food but I would probably go level 1 for the spice level on my dishes.

This is my first visit. I loved the Chicken Pad Thai mild. It was nice and saucy. My friend ordered his standard Pineapple Curry mild. My Pad Thai was totally not spicy at all... the mild curry was a tad spicy. I do not like spicy but I still thought the curry was delicious. And it was not too spicy for a non spicy eater. I'm very happy they offer a DELICIOUS BROWN RICE. The service was great. The atmosphere is super casual. Not a fancy place but bright and cheery. I enjoyed everything. Fun fact, I live less than two miles from this restaurant. Finally tried it earlier this Summer…read more I have now eaten here 14 times in the past 12 weeks. Yes, and yes. It's definitely that good. Food: Amazingly delicious, on point and consistent. Classic Thai ingredients prepared perfectly by chefs who wield their skills to create and customize each and every order. I have enjoyed the sweet n sour pork and the sweet n sour chicken. The sauce is robust in flavor, and they make the lightest sweet n sour sauce I've ever eaten. The vegetable cut of this dish offers large thick juicy bites of pineapple, cucumber, bell peppers, and onion. There's something magical about the inclusion of the cucumber here. I have enjoyed the basil on fire (have had the beef and the chicken versions). Yes, the dish is spicy. The fire is real and I'd caution you not to think lightly of spice levels of Thai food. A "2" will do you well if you like to eat fire as I often do. Aside from the spice, there is the obvious fresh basil component that pairs excellently with both versions. Fresh asparagus in this dish is particularly good. Lastly, I highly recommend the beef prik king. Tender strips of beef in a tangy, sour sauce with green beans and carrots. It sounds underwhelming, but I'm telling you this is a hidden gem on the menu. My gf is 14/14 for ordering the pad Thai. She had chicken on the first go. "Amazing," she declared. I concurred. The second go she had shrimp. Not nearly as good. Since then, it's been 12 in a row. Chicken pad Thai is the clear winner. As good as my dishes have been, and they have been incredible, I always find myself stealing bites of her chicken pad Thai. Service: The staff is extremely knowledgeable, insightful, kind, and hardworking. They take their work seriously, and they're busy nightly; as a customer, offer them a smile, encourage their efforts, and thank them for cooking and serving you. Ambiance: The ambiance is on par for a Thai restaurant in a strip mall adjacent to a 7/11. Truly, it's quaint and cute. The restaurant is clean and the kitchen is open enough to see and hear people working very hard at their craft. I have not yet tried any of their drinks or desserts. We dined in once and received excellent food and terrific service. The other 13 times we ordered takeout. The food was consistently delicious, well prepared and served to us in a timely manner. Cheers!

The first thing I noticed is the gal at the counter asked the guy in front of me what sauces he wanted for his to go order and how many people were going to share the order. He said I want all the sauces and two people. She proceeded to get him the appropriate number of plastic utensils. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and crab rangoon. She said it would be 10 minutes so I was browsing through their merchandise. Two servers came up to the display after I was done and started speaking in their language and shuffling through the items. I asked if I had made a mess and apologized if I did. She answered the purses aren't priced. How odd I thought, why display them for sale without a price? When they gave me my order I wasn't asked what sauces I wanted and how many people for the meal. Since I have silverware and hot sauce at home I didn't say anything. The customer service could definitely improve. I know there is a cultural difference but we are in America! The noodles were soggy and just blah. The rangoon were made with fake crab not cream cheese. They were overcooked. There was no one dining in except a couple who had just walked in. The order cost $26.06 and I tipped $5.00 for take out. I won't be returning.

The Wok is one of those places, and Sichuan/Chongqing food is one of those things that I'm jealous of people who get to experience it for the first time. Here's how to have an epic time at The Wok: Step 1. Get 4 to 8 people total that aren't afraid to try something a little different and maybe slightly spicy (seriously though it's not actually that spicy). If you need help with this step message me, I'd share a meal with some random people if it's at The Wok. Step 2.
