Hot seasoning selections and soy sauce

I stopped in last night after leaving the golf course and realizing I did not want to cook. I had never tried this place before because of a personal prejudice. It is co-located with a gas station on a busy corner. Well, that prejudice proved to be invalid. The waitress seated me immediately and accommodated my request to be able to plug in my phone charger. I read through the extensive menu options and decided on the Basil Fried Rice. It was spectacularly delicious! Perfectly blended flavors of basil and pepper and vegetables. While they enjoy a regular take-out clientele, the ambiance is quiet and pleasant. A very very good choice for a quick Thai food fix. The only downside was the lack of a WiFi network.

When I got back to go food, the place was packed! Called in my order ahead and they said it would be about 30 minutes so parked right in front as they had a good amount of parking and just waited. Walked right in and got great service. When I got home, the food was made to order and I think I was just a little bummed that there wasn't more flavor. I have been to another Thai restaurant here in Sparks and in comparison, this lacked a little bit of flavor. I wish the Thai fried rice had more flavor whether it was salt or pepper or something to give it at Thai flavor. For the pumpkin curry, it was creamy, but I feel like they could've had more red curry in it. I definitely would come back, I just think if you've had another place before and you're comparing the two, you might notice a difference. But either way, this is a great place and if you're craving Thai and it's local to you, I say go for it.

Best find of 2025 for us! Do not let the fact that it's in a gas station make you turn away. My Thai beed fried rice with the addition of crab (NOT imitation, actual Dungeoness crab!) was AMAZING. My husbands yellow curry was flavorful. The server was lovely and helpful. Cannot recommend it enough! I wish I had gotten bettee pictures!

This place has become my favorite Thai spot in Reno/Sparks. Treated to dinner this week. Their staff is always eager to serve; very friendly. Your food is served fresh and made to order, so give yourself a little time. It's a cozy space shared with the gas station. I ordered fried wontons, a coconut drink, yellow curry, Tom Kha isn't pictured. (It didn't make it very long) It was perfect on this colder evening. Coconut sweet rice with mango is a must when ordering Thai. Perfect meal with great service. If you're craving Thai, give them a try. Do check their daily specials; you're tastebuds could be missing out. Tip: Ordering online saves time. It's so convenient for to-go orders for takeout. It's my favorite for busier nights after work/sports with my kids.

Delicious Thai food. Their specialty is Thai sausages. We actually buy uncooked sausages from them and grill at home. So good. We were craving Thai so stopped by for Pad Thai and Pad Khee Mow. Delish.

Hands down the best Thai food I have had in Northern Nevada. I grew up with amazing home-cooked Thai food and I have been searching for the same care and flavors in Northern Nevada for what feels like forever. I live in Carson City where there are 2 okay Thai restaurants. I made the drive to Sparks for Original Thai and I was more than impressed. The restaurant is family-owned and operated. The staff is attentive and friendly. Their menu is staggering with an array of choices to please any palate. I went with a known favorite and something brand new. I ordered my favorite green papaya salad and the chef's special #3 with catfish, super spicy. The papaya salad was perfect. Tangy, tart, fish sauce, and slightly spicy with fresh veggies. I admired the presentation with the shrimp on top. The C3 was incredible. Crispy chunks of catfish in a spicy sauce with green peppercorns and chili. The fried Thai basil on top was so good I could eat it by itself. The salad came with a side of perfectly cooked sticky rice and the chef's special came with a side of jasmine rice. I have definitely found my new Thai spot in Northern Nevada! I will gladly make the 40 minute drive to Original Thai to try absolutely everything on the menu! If you are looking for a family run restaurant with authentic Thai cuisine, you're at the right place. Shoutout to TJ for the great service.

Everything was delicious! The pork belly always has amazing flavor. The pad Thai was a little dry, but still good flavor.

Plain and different this time, almost all lettuce w just a pinch of noodle & veg.

We've always come back to Original Thai because it's been consistently good & it's sooo close to our house. Cons: it's pricey! An app or 2 with an entree & my husband's favorite desserts + tip is easily close to $80. We ordered again Fri evening and I can't help but wonder if there's been a change? There is a lovely friendly lady at the front the last few times I've come in when I used to see a kindly older gentleman. Maybe it was time for him to pass the torch? The reason I think something is different now is the food seems just the slightest bit "off". The pandan tapioca was a giant blob this time when it was always separate before, and the fresh spring rolls this time were just lacking. Literally 90% lettuce, no bean sprouts, no mint or cilantro, and a sliver of shrimp so thin you could probably see thru it. 1 roll actually only had 1 sliver of shrimp, not 2 side by side like they used to be. Maybe it's just an off period? Well try again in a while...

My friend and shared the following: - Crab Fried Rice: I am usually picky with fried rice because it can get dry very easily depending on how it's cooked. However, this was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. - Yellow Curry: This was good and came with a bowl of rice. How it was served gave a very homey feel. - Mango Sticky Rice: The rice is sweet and the mangos were good. However, there is a big difference in the amount of mangoes and rice they serve per plate compared to the first time we were here. Overall, the food tastes good and the service is okay. I am disappointed in the lack of consistency with plating and amount of food that is served. I would not eat in the restaurant in the future, but prefer take out. I really wish the presentation and comfort was the same as when I came in the first time. There is a difference seen in the pictures from the first time I came to eat in the restaurant versus now.

Fun fact, I live less than two miles from this restaurant. Finally tried it earlier this Summer…read more I have now eaten here 14 times in the past 12 weeks. Yes, and yes. It's definitely that good. Food: Amazingly delicious, on point and consistent. Classic Thai ingredients prepared perfectly by chefs who wield their skills to create and customize each and every order. I have enjoyed the sweet n sour pork and the sweet n sour chicken. The sauce is robust in flavor, and they make the lightest sweet n sour sauce I've ever eaten. The vegetable cut of this dish offers large thick juicy bites of pineapple, cucumber, bell peppers, and onion. There's something magical about the inclusion of the cucumber here. I have enjoyed the basil on fire (have had the beef and the chicken versions). Yes, the dish is spicy. The fire is real and I'd caution you not to think lightly of spice levels of Thai food. A "2" will do you well if you like to eat fire as I often do. Aside from the spice, there is the obvious fresh basil component that pairs excellently with both versions. Fresh asparagus in this dish is particularly good. Lastly, I highly recommend the beef prik king. Tender strips of beef in a tangy, sour sauce with green beans and carrots. It sounds underwhelming, but I'm telling you this is a hidden gem on the menu. My gf is 14/14 for ordering the pad Thai. She had chicken on the first go. "Amazing," she declared. I concurred. The second go she had shrimp. Not nearly as good. Since then, it's been 12 in a row. Chicken pad Thai is the clear winner. As good as my dishes have been, and they have been incredible, I always find myself stealing bites of her chicken pad Thai. Service: The staff is extremely knowledgeable, insightful, kind, and hardworking. They take their work seriously, and they're busy nightly; as a customer, offer them a smile, encourage their efforts, and thank them for cooking and serving you. Ambiance: The ambiance is on par for a Thai restaurant in a strip mall adjacent to a 7/11. Truly, it's quaint and cute. The restaurant is clean and the kitchen is open enough to see and hear people working very hard at their craft. I have not yet tried any of their drinks or desserts. We dined in once and received excellent food and terrific service. The other 13 times we ordered takeout. The food was consistently delicious, well prepared and served to us in a timely manner. Cheers!

The first thing I noticed is the gal at the counter asked the guy in front of me what sauces he wanted for his to go order and how many people were going to share the order. He said I want all the sauces and two people. She proceeded to get him the appropriate number of plastic utensils. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai and crab rangoon. She said it would be 10 minutes so I was browsing through their merchandise. Two servers came up to the display after I was done and started speaking in their language and shuffling through the items. I asked if I had made a mess and apologized if I did. She answered the purses aren't priced. How odd I thought, why display them for sale without a price? When they gave me my order I wasn't asked what sauces I wanted and how many people for the meal. Since I have silverware and hot sauce at home I didn't say anything. The customer service could definitely improve. I know there is a cultural difference but we are in America! The noodles were soggy and just blah. The rangoon were made with fake crab not cream cheese. They were overcooked. There was no one dining in except a couple who had just walked in. The order cost $26.06 and I tipped $5.00 for take out. I won't be returning.

The Wok is one of those places, and Sichuan/Chongqing food is one of those things that I'm jealous of people who get to experience it for the first time. Here's how to have an epic time at The Wok: Step 1. Get 4 to 8 people total that aren't afraid to try something a little different and maybe slightly spicy (seriously though it's not actually that spicy). If you need help with this step message me, I'd share a meal with some random people if it's at The Wok. Step 2. Flip to the back page of the menu, and order a few things that sound good to the group. Don't waste your time with the American Chinese menu (even though what I've had off of that menu is actually really good too). Make sure to get a decent mix of stuff like appetizers, veggies, noodle, soup, and meat dishes. Also don't be afraid to order multiple times. This gives you more time with the menu, and you can judge what sounds good in the moment. Step 3. Share the food family style with everyone until you are all full. I think at this point I've eaten everything on the Sichuan menu, and can say that if it sounds good to you, it is! Some of my favorite dishes are: Wontons in Chili oil, Bone in chicken wings, Spicy boiled fish fillet, Beef noodle soup, Green beans, Salt and Pepper tofu, Dan dan noodles, and Mapo Tofu.
