    Shrimp and pork dumplings
    Aquila L.

The service was great and attentive. The layout of the restaurant was nice though we ordered food to go. I ordered the fried rice and shrimp/pork dumplings. The fried rice was a bit mushy but okay and the "soup" dumplings were not great. There was no soup in the dumpling which was a disappointment.

If Yu know, Yu know! ;) Yu Noodles slurped its way into our hearts! I came here with the whole fam (kids, brother, sis-in-law) and every single bowl was deeeeelicious! For appetizers, the Szechuan Beef Tripe and Edamame were good. The Soupy Buns (XLB) were pretty good, but not their strong point. Their noodle soups are tasty comfort in a bowl! My Chongqing Noodles had the perfect mix of slight spice (Szechuan peppercorn), crunch (peanuts), and beef. Dessert was just the right touch of sweet and not clingy, like the perfect ex. Trust me, Yu deserve this meal. ;) NOTES/TIPS: **Payment in cash is less than credit. **Plenty of parking in a shared plaza lot. **Big space with plenty of tables. Modern warm vibes.

I love good noodles and couldn't wait to try this restaurant! When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked into a cute restaurant and I was greeted. Adriana was my server and she was nice! I ordered; Hot Green Tea Marinade Duck Steamed Crystal Dumplings Sichuan Beef Noodles Chicken Leg over rice with fried egg The duck was delicious and so were the noodles were great! The food was very good all in all! A good experience!

I'm excited that a new Chinese place opened close to us. Based on the menu, I had certain expectations of what they'd taste like so a ome dishes were just average, some were slightly below. The beef and tripe was more... tendon than tripe. I didn't even have one piece in there that was truly tripe - not sure what's going on there. Chicken thigh with rice was a bit underwhelming. I'm happy this place opened and likely try more items in the near future.

Found this place on Yelp... decided to give it a try because it was really close to home. Glad we gave it a shot because the food is solid. Just as good as going to Edison without the drive. The signature noodle dish was delicious. Broth was very flavorful, noodles were cooked great, and portion size was decent (although I could have done with more soup). Price was very reasonable. Seemed quite authentic compared to other places I've tried. Only complaint is that the chicken side dish was very small for the price. I expected a little more at comparable Chinese spots. Its a cool looking spot, with nice decor and exposed kitchen. Parking available as its in a strip lot. Theres a small cash discount.

Came here for lunch with the family. I am really surprised how authentic the food here is. I have not seen chongching noodle other than TikTok videos. I would not know where to go in Edison or Flushing queens for CC noods. We got the beef noodle soup as a safe and a dish we are familiar with. The cucumbers salad comes with peanuts so beware as we are now mindful for our little gremlin's allergy. I hate to compare this place to AJ's in East Hanover but I wish Yu makes the scallion pancakes with sliced braised beef. That's one of our favorite dish I think Yu can easily replicate. Service is quick and accommodating. I feel non Chinese people will have a difficult time enjoying the food here. Because they really can't compare the noodles soups to pho which has been trending for a while now. People will expect the dumplings at take out to be as good as it comes hot to the table especially for the soup dumplings. I really hope Garwood and the local community supports this place. The food is fresh, not greasy, service was great, takes credit cash unlike AJ, and the place is very clean. Also, there desserts is really good. I'm a sucker for sweet sticky rice and anything mango. Parking can be difficult and risky at the lot that is shared by CVS and Dunkin. The old people for the meds have limited time and the coffee addicts have no time to waste.

Wow!!! I am so glad we stopped by for a quick bite. Interesting flavor combos that can be added onto your order. The food even came with a complimentary egg and seaweed plate. The spring rolls were a good size. As someone who doesn't love soup dumplings, these were so yummy. Soup dumplings + spring rolls were enough to satisfy two people for a light lunch. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Great vibe in the restaurant, not super fancy but perfect for lunch or a a casual/nice dinner. I will be back here for a date night! We love Yu Noodles!

Took my parents here for dad's birthday. In our couture, noodle symbols as long life. We all enjoyed the food. They even gave us red bean filling fried rice ball for free. It's a perfect go to place for a quick bite of authentic Chinese food.

I stopped here after my trip to the nail salon next door and I was VERY satisfied. The food was delicious and I was full. Authentic and flavorful. The woman serving us was very patient and helped us pick our meals. I will return for sure. The vibe was quiet and the tables are nicely spaced out.

What a nice addition to Garwood. Everything we had was quite yummy. The only thing is is that our server brought everything to our table in shifts. Our appetizer came after my meal and then my boyfriend's entree came out after that. I'm still giving them 5 stars because it all was so good. We will definitely be back and I'll most likely have my same order but we may change up to e appetizer. We also think it was a great deal.

Was really excited to try Yu Noodle as our area is devoid of great dumpling and noodle shops. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items, but unfortunately our food wasn't great. Of the 5 dishes we ordered only 2 were good, and 1 was a dessert. We ordered: 1. Chicken soup dumplings - C- dumplings were nicely shaped but not very juicy and fairly flavorless 2. Crystal shrimp dumplings - F - the shrimp was extremely fishy, almost tasted rancid. 3. Sticky rice shumai - D - Rice was very dry, gloppy, and the dish had an odd overall perfumey taste. 4. Marinated duck - B+ - this dish was good, duck was flavorful. 5. Black sticky rice with mango and coconut milk - A- - excellent dessert, just wish they gave us more mango. Sadly, we won't be returning to Yu Noodles. The dumpling house in Kenilworth is superior, comparatively.

Yu Noodles in Garwood - A Hidden Gem for Authentic Asian Cuisine! Yu Noodles in Garwood has quickly become one of my go-to spots for fantastic Asian food--and I couldn't be happier that it's so much closer than trekking to Edison! The service here is top-notch--warm, attentive, and always making sure everything is just right. The food? Absolutely excellent. Every dish we tried was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. From their rich, aromatic noodle soups to the perfectly cooked stir-fries, everything hit the spot. My kids especially loved their dumplings and Dim Sum selections--each bite was soft, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. This was my second visit, and I was excited to bring two other families along. Safe to say, everyone had an amazing time! The combination of great service, delicious food, and a convenient location makes Yu Noodles a true standout. We'll definitely be back for more!

Normally, I'm not a big fan of steamed dumplings, so I was a little disappointed at first. However, the flavor was excellent and definitely exceeded my expectations, so I can't complain too much about the mix-up. The real star of the meal was the Yellow Curry Crispy Duck. Absolutely amazing! The duck was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the curry had incredible flavor. I ordered it with spice level 1, which was just right for me and allowed all of the flavors to shine through. My only real complaint is the portioning of the rice. While the half crispy duck portion was quite generous, the amount of rice provided didn't seem to match the amount of meat. For the price I paid, I feel like the rice portion should automatically be adjusted to complement the entrée. Having to request extra rice just doesn't make much sense when there's plenty of duck left over. I'm usually not picky about things like this, but considering the cost of the meal, I expected a little better balance. Other than that, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is a small hole-in-the-wall spot with a cozy, authentic feel. It's the kind of place that locals seem to know and enjoy. I actually discovered it while heading to a Mexican restaurant with some coworkers and decided to give it a try because I'm a big fan of Thai food. Overall, I'm glad I did. The food quality was excellent, the flavors felt authentic, and the crispy duck alone is worth coming back for. Despite a couple of minor issues, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. If you enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, you'll likely leave satisfied. Authentic taste and quality ingredients--everyone should give it a try!

I'll definitely be back--again and again.

Ani Ramen House's Cranford location is on the corner of Walnut and Chestnut on the ground floor of…read morethe apartments at The Albero. The main entrance is next to the kitchen, which is designed for food delivery and takeout operations. The L-shaped dining room wraps around the kitchen and offers an impressive amount of seating for 80 people with ample natural lighting. The interior decor follows the same rigid industrial wood and metal aesthetic that almost every new hipstery restaurant chain has subscribed to for the past decade. In case you've forgotten that ramen is Japanese, you'll also see neon signs on the walls illuminating some common Japanese phrases (although without furigana). Two gendered restrooms are located left of the kitchen in the far corner of the building and each have two stalls and one sink. I ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen with a side of Chili Charred Brussels for takeout. I placed the order 30 minutes in advance and it was ready at the scheduled pickup time. The Chili Charred Brussels were about five halved sprouts that were steamed and lightly sauteed with a light sprinkling of mustard greens and pepper flakes. I actually enjoyed these more than the ramen I ordered, but they did not have much noticeable charring (or the caramelization that comes with charring). I had a very difficult time enjoying the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, which is the first item on the ramen menu. The dry ingredients are packaged in the main serving bowl and the broth in a separate plastic takeout container for you to combine yourself. The main attraction of the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen is the three massive slabs of braised pork, which did not disappoint. I tried some of dry ingredients first before drowning them in liquid, although I could not find any bean sprouts. The noodles were slightly undercooked, possibly to compensate for the hot broth. Everything kind of went downhill after I added the shoyu broth. Although the shoyu did impart flavor to the meat and ramen, it was so overwhelmingly salty that it was completely undrinkable by itself. After finishing the noodles, I felt like I was sipping boiled dipping sauce. If chicken broth was in the mix, I certainly couldn't taste it. This is particularly concerning because half of the ramen menu contains this same shoyu tare, and will most likely be too overpowering for most people. In retrospect, I should have ordered the brothless mazemen ramen. The food preparation, while adequate, seemed a bit rushed based on what I ate. Perhaps 30 minutes was not enough lead time for the kitchen, or perhaps this is just how Ani Ramen makes its food. While I appreciate that Ani has helped make ramen more accessible in Central Jersey, it's probably not my first choice for ramen or any of the eclectic side dishes on the menu, e.g. brussels sprouts, kimchi, and gua bao (none of which are Japanese).

I dared to try the cauliflower wings (half & half), which actually wasn't bad. Both flavors was good, although I personally like the spicy better (just make sure you can handle it, although it won't be too bad if you're used to spicy food). Garlic fried rice was okay, but not the best. Also seems like they don't give you a side of pickled radish at this point, but maybe that's because we're in Jersey. Also the kimchi fries weren't what I expected. What the fries were crispy and tasty, they just give you a tiny cup of kimchi cheese sauce. Maybe I'm spoiled, but I expected the fries to be way more loaded. I ordered for pickup and it did take a lot longer than expected. I would pass on the bibimbap next time, it was kind of bland and the crispy rice was burnt instead of golden. The japchae was the star of the meal. So much flavor, perfect cook of the noodles, and thin beef. If I wasn't sharing dishes, I would get this all for myself. Lastly, we got the regular size of soy garlic chicken, which was 12 pieces because they were out of the big drumsticks. The crunch was great with perfectly cooked chicken on the inside. I don't like that they charge extra for sauce but honestly this meal was such a bargain. A meal for 4 under $100 at a nice restaurant is rare.
