Love Yuba Blue, I have been shipping here for years, I think it may have change owners a few years back, but they still have great merchandise. If you are in need of a quick gift or looking for something unique you will definitely find something here. It's split into like three different stores with the main entry part being clothes, shoes and accessories then one side is home related and the other side has bath and body goodies. Overall the quality of the merchandise is pretty good and prices are fair. The clothing is a little pricey, but the quality is nice. I like the aromatherapy candles, great coffee table books and a nice selection of sterling silver earrings. Shop the shoes sales and you can find some really great deals. It is defiantly a feminine shop, as most everything in the store is shiny, sparkly, furry or pretty in some way, but I always see a few guys shopping for gifts when I am there. Very helpful staff and more than happy to treat you like you're the only one in the store. Love the clothes and shoes. Also they carry accessories and very adorable jewelry. There's a bath and body area in the back with loads of scented everything! The clothing is hit and miss as far as quality and price. Sometimes you can find a great buy at a fairly decent price and the quality is great. Other items are highly priced but they seem like great quality. I have heard the owner still buys for the store, thus, a pretty consistent inventory. read more

Love this store. Everytime I'm in downtown GV I have to stop in. Great place to just browse or pick up a gift. The sales people are always friendly (sometimes overly helpful with suggestions) but not pushy. I wish they had more sales though. read more

This store is very unique in that it has items you won't find anywhere else in town. The soaps are one-of-a-kind and smell amazing! Their shoes are so cute but are on the high end price wise. The clothes tend to lean more toward mature women but they do have some styles for younger women it's just limited. Honestly I don't come here very often for one reason........THEY ARE PARANOID!!! The last couple times I went in there they followed me around and asked several times if I needed help which I replied no I was fine and yet they still kept at it. Finally I got so tired of it I ditched them in an isle where they didn't see where I went, lol! Seriously though, when you're following customers around pretending to be helpful but really trying to make sure they're not shoplifting?? Yeah that's when you lose my business. Overall they do have some good things, but prices are high and management is paranoid or something, so honestly I'd rather go somewhere else. read more

I am a local resident, and although I have used Yuba Blue as my go to shop for gifts, and for myself, be prepared to be followed an stalked like an animal the second you step foot in the door. They carry a nice variety of merchandise, but it is always a terrible experience. I have spent a lot of money here, and have been a good customer, although, I always leave feeling annoyed, and truly disgusted that the young girls in there chase you from section to section, and follow you from room to room in a totally obvious way. It's ridiculous, and disgusting, it's bad business, it's bad etiquette. I called the store after my last and final visit to the store to let the manager know that that day was especially bad, and an employee had stalked the shit out of me. The manager described the girl, knew who she was, and told me the days the stalker of the day worked, so I could make sure to come in to the store to shop on the days she didn't work. She suggested to me to work my schedule around the employee. Now that is great customer service....NOT! Thanks for making your customers who have more money in there pocket than you do in your register feel so uncomfortable and creeped out. Great way to run a store idiots. There are some really great new shops in Nevada City, so shop there! They're hip, and lack the 1995 time warp that Yuba blue has to offer. read more

I understand this is a higher-end establishment with some pretty neat knick-knacks that Im sure sadly gets ripped off frequently. BUT I was born and raised in Grass Valley, and have been going to Yuba blue since I was a kid and have never stolen from this place! My mother-in-law is from out of town and Yuba blue is exactly the kind of place she loves to shop so I thought I would treat her to a walk up and down the street and swing her by there. Not only where we followed the entire time we were in the store, when she wanted to know the price on a marked down purse the girl disappeared for about 15 minutes.. by that time my mother-in-law had gone back to the other side of the store to look at some lotions she was considering while I stayed there waiting for the employee to come back and give us a price on the purse. When the girl came back she seemed panicked and irritated and asked where the other woman went (my mother-in-law) I said she went to go pick out some lotion the girl just stared at me.... and I asked her, so how much is the purse and she said "I don't know like 30-ish" and walked away. I went and found my mother in law and told her the 'price', she declined to buy it but we bought some other items. We were then followed out of the store by the manager (Im assuming) with a clipboard who proceeded to accuse us of being with a woman who stole some essential oils!! Why did I just spend $120 on a pair or earrings to be accused of steal cheap oil?? What a thank you for a life long customer. read more
