I come to Yuba Blue every time I'm in Grass Valley. It's a great store with a TON of items to look at and it flows nicely from one section to the next, I seriously spend HOURS in here. But, sadly, I never buy. The items are really overpriced and the clothes NEVER fit. I wear a size 10, but their 10s fit more like a 2. And FORGET about trying to find anything larger than a "12" (which is really a 4). It's really disappointing and frankly sucks, because I would have spent $1000s by now. While the sales staff is extremely friendly over all and especially in the Housewares section, the girls that work in the clothing section literally stalk you!! It's THE MOST uncomfortable shopping experience ever and as soon as I take something off the rack to look at a little closer, they try to snatch it away to "hold" at the counter for me. WHOA there Becky, slow your roll, I'm just looking. Not that it would fit anyhow. This is usually about the time that I leave. Trust me, start in the Homewares section and work your way over to clothing so you don't feel like a criminal the moment you step in the door. I'll be back though, I always am, even if it is just to "window shop" and be followed around. read more

Just a big Thank You to Yuba Blue -- one of my favorite stores to take people visiting from out of town, especially the Bay area. Their selection is Amazing, seems like there's something for everybody! I especially like how truly unique their selection is. I've also bought some of my favorite things there...friends of mine I've taken there say the same thing. Had another great outing with a pal there today, her first time at the store. Her eyes were wide taking it all in, including how wonderful the place (Always!) looks, such a great vintage vibe. So this is an overdue token of my appreciation for this wonderful homegrown boutique...I'll be back!! read more

Best shop in Grass Valley! My sister is from Southern Cal. Every time she comes for a visit...we go to Yuba Blue...this time I found a absolutely beautiful hand painted dresser! I love this store. Employees are so nice and friendly.... they will help you shop, hold an item or even help you hide your purchase from you sister! lol I recommend shopping there! Yuba Blue has a fantastic selection of items like previous reviewers said I especially enjoy the soaps lotions and candals, and jewelry. I have bought many gifts here over the years and they cheerfully put your gifts in a cute bag and put colorful ribbon on it for you. The only downside is it can become very crowded and the staff sometimes tails you throughout the store. I get the shoplifting issue but really back off and get a better camera set up if you want to "watch" your customers every move. read more

I stopped by Yuba Blue a few weeks ago while strolling through downtown GV on a nice Saturday afternoon. I was so impressed! I was shocked by the size. It looks as though they had 3 separate shops and knocked down the walls and created one large shop with 3 different departments. The main entrance is clothing and shoes. There were some really nice women's clothes. I was pleasantly surprised by how much they were able to sell in a boutique store. The prices are high, but that is expected in this type of store. To the right is the home goods section. You can find some great specialty items for your house or for a wedding, anniversary, or birthday gift. Finally to the left of the main store is a little girls, fairy like section. There is fairy dust, lotions, and some super cute things that would make any little girl (or older girl too) smile. Overall, I really like this shop. As long as you remember that this is a specialty boutique store with boutique pricing, then I am sure that you will be equally impressed. read more

I've always liked Yuba Blue. They have a great assortment of gifts at decent prices. I love that they have expanded recently and it gives the place a more open feeling!! The employees are really helpful and nice. However I do agree that they REALLY watch your every move. I understand that they are on the look-out for shoplifters, but people that are shopping that don't seem suspicious, then why watch them like hawks?? Most amazing little store in the middle of a small town. It's almost like... well it's kinda... I would call it a women's department store. When you walk it, you are greeted with the latest fashions. Shoes in the window, and tables with the latest and greatest. Then rows of racks. All brands that I love! From my shopping days at Nordstrom. On the back wall are bras!, socks, etc. Straight back are the shoes. Shoes are my biggest downfall. I cannot resist. I always find some reason to buy shoes and when I'm in town this little shop fits the bill. The bill will be maximum retail pricing and a very short return window. So be aware. The rest of the store is mostly browseable. I get my gifts here and I think the purses are still in the housewares section. I bought a few of those. Lots of cheerful shop girls to help you out. This store is definitely above my normal price range, but they do have cute stuff. However upon a trip to Grass Valley this past weekend I was in need of a shawl to go with the dress I was wearing to wedding, it was chilly! I had decided I needed a gold shawl when my boyfriend and I were at dinner the night before the wedding. We decided to window shop on our walk home and when I looked into the window of Yuba Blue, there sat a gold shawl on the clearance table. This is a cute place that is crammed with all kinds of clothing, knickknacks and bath products. If you're in need of a last-minute gift, you should swing by Yuba Blue. The clothing is a little depressingly small-town when it comes to style. But, the store carries an excellent selection of natural soaps and skincare products, candles and the like. Ah, I LOVE this store! Seriously, I can't hardly ever go in here because I just want to buy the whole store. Yuba Blue's staff is always very friendly and helpful - they are constantly asking if they can help you find anything, etc. It's very nice to go somewhere and not feel ignored or like you're bothering the employees. You only have to go in this store once to know why it's the talk of the town. It sells clothes, jewelry, candles and soaps, books, dishware, shoes, and a bunch of things you didn't know existed but realize you have to have when you discover them in this amazing, colorful shop. Every item is beautiful and pleasing to the eye. A great place for gifts; if you get one for a local girl, she will squeal with glee because she will know you got her something at Yuba Blue judging by the unmistakeable gift wrap. I came in with a particularly tricky gift-giving situation on 10/18/2014, and almost the entire staff virtually bent over backward to help me out. We ended up finding the perfect solution, and they just couldn't have been any nicer although I'd put them to some trouble. Can't thank them enough! Great store and big selection of Baggallini handbags. Jamaica was extremely helpful as well as welcoming and friendly. A few of their soaps smelled old (rancid) but a lot of variety. Drove 20 miles to get to the store - worth the trip. read more
