Went on a Wednesday night with a large group. They were very accommodating in getting us seated and the staff was friendly throughout, which I appreciated. That said, the service overall fell short. We waited about 90 minutes for our entrées, which felt excessive, especially for pasta dishes. I ordered the marinara with grilled chicken and a side of broccoli rabe. The food was good, but it felt overpriced for what it was. Overall, a mixed experience. Great hospitality, but the long wait times and value make it hard to fully recommend. read more

Yuby's is the quintessential Jersey City neighborhood spot: cute, cozy, and happily allergic to anything resembling "polished" or "elegant." If you're looking for white tablecloths and obsequious service, there's plenty of overpriced, mediocre Italian fare in Manhattan to lighten your wallet. If, instead, you want big portions, low prices, and friendly service, come here. We started with the Panzanella, a huge concoction with a disproportionate carbs to vinaigrette ratio--my kind of bread salad. From there, the Linguine Clams were surprisingly sophisticated thanks to the bottarga, but my Sausage and Broccoli Rabe Linguine was the real star of the night. At $18, it was big enough to feed two people, and tasted fantastic to boot. When was the last time you had a plate of pasta that worthwhile? We came here recently for dinner with friends. It is BYOB so you can enjoy your favorite wine with the meal. My wife and I split a mixed green salad to start. Very, very good. I'm usually skeptical about 4.9 ratings and "Yubis held up." Best Italian food in Jersey City? See for yourself. We split a Caesar salad--excellent! The dressing was just thick enough to coat the lettuce, and the greens were fresh and crisp. For mains, we had the lasagna and frutti di mare in white sauce. Both were excellent: perfectly cooked pasta with rich, flavorful sauces. Service was outstanding, with a full reset and table wipe between courses. BYOB for the full effect. read more

We came here as a group for a pre-birthday celebration. The owner and staff were very gracious and made us feel at home. Yubi has a quaint vibe and is tastefully decorated. We hope this restaurant stays in business for years to come -- they have the perfect selection of appetizers and entrees and it's a cute little place you'd never expect to pop up on the block with so many places closing We had the meatballs and calamari appetizers and they were delish! The right serving sizes and the sauce is really good! Not too sweet or tart. Everything tastes really fresh! They had a special lobster ravioli which I recommend - it's not an overwhelming fishy flavor and they served it in a mild white sauce that was really comforting. The wait staff is really great - attentive and always replenishes your drinks and accommodates your needs and your party. I would only want this eatery to get a liquor license so they can serve drinks - so it's BYOB but sometimes you don't want to walk around with booze on you just to go out to dinner lol Totally recommend bringing the family here and a pack of friends. My partner and I walked past this place on my usual route and realized a new restaurant had opened up on Newark Ave! At first impression, the interior was very cozy and comfortable. It's dimly lit but not too dark, and there are screens with fireplace images replaying throughout the restaurant. Every table has a small candle so it's a nice place for date night and a candle lit dinner. Service was great, and the servers were very attentive. We were given a choice of red or white wine as complimentary drinks for opening week- they also gave us refills! Garlic bread with marinara dip was also served complimentary at the start of the meal. We ordered calamari as an appetizer which was crunchy and good without too much batter. I just wish it were a tad bit hotter when it came out, but I could just be nit picking. We then got the seafood pasta and the carbonara. Flavor was very good, but the pasta was not al dente and seemed a bit too soft for my usual liking. If they fixed that, it would taste a lot better! Portions are not on the big side, but the carbonara is pretty heavy on the cream so it'll fill you up quick. Overall, I had a good experience here and I'd come again. This was only opening week, so I have high hopes for how they'll improve in the near future. I'm excited to have a cute and nice Italian dine in restaurant in this area now, and happy to support! read more

I came here with a friend for her birthday. It was great we had a wonderful time. The staff here is amazing ready to cater to all your needs. Before you even need anything they are coming to check on you, clearing the table before the next part of the meal. It was wonderful service from the whole team. The food was amazing. It was honestly great pasta the grilled chicken on the salad was great. Everything was made to perfection. It's a small intimate BYOB place. I would recommend for a girls night or a date night. I would say it's better for smaller groups 4 or less and great for couples. I will definitely be back. read more

Went for Valentine's Day. The restaurant offered us complimentary champagne with Cherry compote. The service was excellent, the staff was on top of everything from changing silverware to filling our water glasses to clearing crumbs from the table between courses. We ordered the truffle buratta which was delicious. I ordered the salmon as my main which came on a bed of mashed potatoes with cherry tomatoes and spinach. The salmon was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. My boyfriend got the linguine clam and really enjoyed it. Overall a great experience and very happy to have them in the neighborhood. read more

What can I say about this marvelous restaurant? All food is delicious, with the most natural and freshest ingredients. All the staff is extremely kind, attentive, and caring. The owner told us that they never use microwaves to heat up the food and you can tell it is true by the natural and genuine taste of each plate! The owner is amazing and a hard-worker as the waitresses are. I went there with my three girls and we all loved every single food and as dessert we loved the cheesecake and the crème brulee.
