What I Ordered: Cochinita Pibil Taco $4.00 Cheeseburger $6.00 Cochinita Pibil Burrito $12.50 This place has been on my radar for a while. Being that Cindy S. recommended it, I had to go! We've been exploring different parts of the city, and today was Los Feliz. I wasn't very hungry, but I made room for Yuca's. I ordered the Cheeseburger, which is a simple burger, but trust me, it's amazing! It's like a classic work picnic burger with all the fixings. If you're hungry and don't want a burrito, get a double cheeseburger - they're small. The Cochinita Pibil Burrito is incredible. It's made with slow-roasted, shredded pork, a Yucatecan dish, and is loaded with beans. It's one of the best burritos I've had recently. I also got a Cochinita Pibil Taco for my wife, but she wasn't in the mood for Mexican, so I ate it the next day, and it wasn't fresh anymore, so I won't review it. I highly recommend the Cheeseburger and the Cochinita Pibil Burrito at Yuca's. You won't regret it! read more

Est. 1976- On this particular visit, the credit card machine was down so they could only take cash. I was a little short, but the nice lady took what I had and told me, that next time, I would owe her $1.70. After she took my order, I went to my car and was able to scrape together enough change to cover my food. I asked for some salsa to go. She didn't have any little containers, so she just gave me a 1/3 full bottle of El Yuccateco hot sauce. How cool is that? 5 stars for that service! As luck would have it, my food was also excellent. I had the Conchinita Pibil Burrito. The shredded pork, pickled onions, pinto beans and salsa was so very tasty. Also amazing is the Bean & Cheese Burrito. It's simple but so delicious. Yes, they use American cheese slices, but the beans and the tortillas make up for the simple cheese. I really enjoyed it. The torta is way over priced to small and the meat looks like it was just slapped on hardly any lettuce said no tomatoes they gave me. Load of ketchup I should have ordered a burger but they have no fries they asked what to drink I asked what you have they said lemonade you want something else go to the liquor. Established in 1976. I been stopping by Yuca's for years! My parents introduced me to Yuca's; and now as an adult, I bring my husband and children to this little cute taco shack- they love it. I was happy to hear that they are recognized by the James Beard Foundation. I personally get and recommend : the COCHINITA PIBIL BURRITO. Yuca's does not make fresh tortillas on the premise, but they do source it from a local well - known tortilla factory called Tortilleria La California. My second recommendation is their CHEESEBURGER. Try it. You wouldn't think to order a cheeseburger from a taco shack, but just do it. One of the best cheeseburgers around. Very simple and made perfectly- don't ask for them to customize it, order it as is. Tip: the burgers are on the small side (tiny), so maybe order TWO cheeseburgers if you are hungry or don't want to share! :D Lastly, am not a fan of the tacos here or carne asada. Both were small in portion and bland in taste. The location is convenient as it is basically a stand in a parking lot. It's seems like the locals all know they are cash only. I saw this place on television and made a note to visited next time I was in LA. They did not disappoint! I got a chili dog with cheese and onions, and it was amazing! The chili was very dark and I've been cooking for hours . I think that I might like a little lighter chilly, but this was amazing! I also got the award-winning Cochinita Pibil taco. It was fine. I live in the area and make a point to stop by once a month for their double cheeseburger. In my opinion, it's one of the top 5 in LA. Some might disagree, but these little hole-in-the-wall stands really hold their own. Fair warning--it's a small burger, even the double. You might call it a snack. James Beard recognized taco hut that's known for the cochinita pibil. Came here for lunch after running at Griffith, and three tacos hit the spot. You order and pay first, and then they'll call your name. Bring cash. There's a customer only parking lot in the back of the restaurant. Limited outdoor seating is available. The food came out in less than 10 minutes after we ordered. No alcohol here but there's a liquor store across the way if needed. They have limited outdoor tables. The carnitas are also super tasty if you want something with less of a sweet flavor. My dad got the burrito with the cochinita pibil and that came with beans inside. Extremely overpriced for what you get. I totally get that it's on Hillhurst and their overhead is probably ridiculous, but $13.45 for a burrito with a paltry amount of meat and a ton of beans is inexcusable. I mean, the burrito is about the size of something you'd get at Del Taco. I also had a chicken taco and it was quite honestly the most bland I've had in quite some time. And oh yeah, it was $5. They don't make rice, so don't ask if they can add it to your burrito. It's basically Mex food for hipsters. Nothing more. Definitely won't return. read more

Was driving around this neighborhood, and found this little small taco restaurant and had to check it out. I usually assume that these 'hole in the wall' or small mom and pop restaurants be hitting different, or just to support local family owned businesses. Today my mom and I got a asada burrito and a carnitas burrito. The lady that was taking our order was very nice and patient, she was overall sweet. The food was pretty good, very flavorful and you can tell that the burritos were freshly made. However, the main knockoff for this restaurant is the lack of food. I think we paid like 20ish dollars for the two burritos and these burritos were very small. I honestly expected a lot more food to be inside the tortilla. I may not be cultured, but I was surprised that there was no rice inside the burrito. I think it would paired well with the quality of meat and overall flavor of the burrito combined with the Spanish rice *chefs kiss* Overall, the food was really good, the customer service was amazing but for the amount of food that you get, I would say try it to give your own honest reviews. read more

Used to be one our "go to" places to eat cochinta pibil tacos and burritos. The quality and flavor of the food is not the same. The meat tastes old and super salty as if they're adding seasoning to make it taste flavorful and maybe fresh... I watched them transferring cold leftover meat from a large container onto their plancha grill... there were 3 of them deciding what parts looked good and what part of the meat in container should be used and reheated ... the burrito and taco tasted like canned shredded dry beef. It used to taste like fresh shredded marinated spiced pork. The beans were not fully cooked still needed to be cooked longer... anyway it was awful food! Never again will we be back! read more

This place was fine enough. I got Chile Verde Chicken burrito which was fine, but pretty plain. Maybe I'll have to try something more adventurous next time. I wasn't given any salsa, which is the 1st time that's happened to me at a Mexican spot. Salsa is a must, but I guess I can take the fall for not checking my bag.
