So, finally she opened her own booth! I'm so excited! She has been taking care of my nails for a long time and I just feel 100% comfortable and rely on her. Yes, Yuki is super excellent nailist, who has been in this business for at least 10 years, working at a famous nail salon in LA (yes, that famous one). She worked as a manager at a salon in Japan too. I was so shocked with the 1-star review from a person looking like who doesn't know the gel very well. She can tell what kind of the gel and what level of the nailist did your nail by only looking at your nail. So, don't tell her a lie you went to some famous high-end nail salon or whatever. Recently, I asked her for the special design to attend the wedding ceremony of my boss. I showed her my dress then she thought the design more than 1 month ago. She is sooo artistic, loyal, full of compassionate and professionalism. Her English might be an issue until you get used to, probably for the first couple of times, but she is trying. All you have to do is to take a couple of more minutes to listen to her and if it's not clear, just ask again. Not a big deal. I found Yuki on yelp. After seeing her art on her Instagram page (@yuki_nails), I made an appointment. Scheduling an appointment was easy via text but I did have to wait a week. The 24 hr friendly text reminder was appreciated. I arrived on time and she was ready for me. She was friendly and gentle. She asked for my idea of design and also gave input when I asked for her help. She played a Rom-Com and we laughed the entire time. What I appreciated most is that she seemed to truly care about my nails' condition and potential. I have been doing acrylics for over 10 years and I had no intention of giving them up. After she carefully removed the existing acrylic, she noticed my nails were long enough and suggested I simply add a small length to the shorter nails. I agreed and I am soooo happy I did! The natural length was so close to the length I usually ask for on my acrylics. The high quality of the products she uses is noticeable. So many people have complimented my nails. I paid more than I expected- double of what I usually spend. BUT she suggested we see each other every 4 weeks and asked that I reach out to her if any breakage or chip occurs. I usually visit the nail shop every 2 weeks so I figured financially it will turn out to be about the same (depending on the design). In either case, I love her art work. I found her through Yelp and contacted her through email and provided by phone number. She texted me within a few hours, she had some question about what designs I wanted. I went to my appt and unfortunately I was in a rush but she did complete the whole process within the timeframe she quoted. I was completely impressed. I always wanted an ombré French design and I finally got it. After my nails were finished she told me that it would last about 3-4 weeks, but my nails grow quickly and in about 2 weeks there is major growth. I have went to her and will never go again! I referred 3 people to her and she has charged them for services they did not receive... She has hidden prices and has a man speak to you over the phone who knows nothing about the services. I am big on nails and will pay big money and drive far for good quality and service but for $60 for only a gel manicure and to receive no manicure and be charged $15 to just remove gel nail polish is ridiculous... I referred my best friend to her and she just got her nails done in Beverly Hills a fresh set of acrylics she was told that she would have to take them off and get a set by her for the first time and pay 15$ to remove them... Ridiculous! And it was the same product she uses and her nails were perfectly fine. I had been going elsewhere for my nails for awhile, but had noticed a decrease in quality recently. I was just about to give up and have the gel removed, when I happened upon Yuki's salon (she works right next door to my aunt). Oh my was that my lucky day! Yuki was able to schedule me at a time that worked for me and it's been two weeks and my nails still look perfect. She is beyond sweet and is extremely accommodating. I've been getting my nails done regularly since gels polish came out on the market. I have found that if I wait too long to get my nails done, I break one at the edge. At least one of them rips. And sometimes I get a bad manicure where they put polish on my cuticle and then the polish starts to peel from the cuticle side. But without the gel my nails just aren't strong enough to get very long. I'm not sure what product Yuki uses, but the gel nail polish lasts 4 weeks. There aren't any cracks, no chips, no peeling, no broken nails, zero. I only have to go back because my nails have grown out and you can see too much unpolished nail at the cuticle side. I could probably wait another week, but I look forward to going and seeing Yuki and picking out a new design. She is very talented at doing detailed designs. Yuki is not the least expensive manicurist. But she's more than a manicurist. She specializes in Japanese Nail Art. You also can't just walk in and see her. You need to make an appointment and it will take a few days to get in. But I go to the nail salon at half the frequency, so it's worth it! read more
