    Dim sum

Yum Cha is a great authentic place for DimSum favorites. Food was delicious. Service was very quick. Price was reasonable and you didn't have to wait in line. The inside had Chinese decor. My kids thought the birds in the cages were real. Made a good laugh. Will definitely comeback.

Totally should pass this fish tofu

There's no cart pushing around. You order from the menu with pictures. And it's very thoughtful to have the vegan selection. It's a place with hit and miss items. The chicken feet and the egg yolk pineapple pastries are so good!! We had to order more for takeout. But their shrimp dumplings are a bit dry. The fish cake is very spicy, definitely not kids friendly. The shrimp dumplings are a bit dry. And you can totally pass their fish tofu. The sticky rice doesn't come with salted egg yolk and it's on the light side, probably not enough seasoning. There's taro and ribs are good. We will come back for other items (tribes, eggplant, bean curd dumplings, and beef stews... etc) we didn't get this time. And they have good variety of pastry and beef tendons, too. The dessert coconut pudding is on the hard side and not as good as tofu pudding. And they charge differently if you pay by cash.

Great food and service. On Mother's Day! Thank you for recommending good menu. Desert buns are so delicious as well! Yum

Great selections of menu to choose from. It was our first time visiting Yum Cha. The servers were very kind and emptied small side dishes frequently and the treats for Mothers were great. Having a wonderful Mother's Day celebration. Dessert buns are also delicious not too sweet.

This review is for a delivery order on DoorDash. My family got into Vegas on a Saturday, but it was Valentine's Day and we didn't make a reservation ahead of time just in case our flights were delayed. We checked all over yelp for a place to eat, and eventually gave up but saw this spot was on DoorDash. We ordered a lot of dishes, and everything was surprisingly good! (I'm Chinese and from SF, so we have good food here.) The sticky rice and pork spare rib with taro were two dishes I wouldn't order again, not because they weren't tasty. The rice had less meat than I'd like. And the pork spare rib dish was tasty in the sauce, but there was more taro than rib. Just not worth getting again imo. The salted fish and chicken fried rice was good and surprisingly had a lot of fish! The black bean beef chow fun was good, but I've had better in SF. The har gow and shu mai were good. Chicken feet was good, but since it's dim sum portion, it is small. We only got 3 feet. The tofu with broccoli was a good veggie dish. Will have to try the food there sometime, but delivery was solid!

lots of parking, space is spacious. came here on a thursday afternoon and they had a few families here with screaming children. food was alright, little different ha what i'm used to. i really enjoyed the fried taro with meat inside and the fried mochi with pork inside. super delicious and made good snacks for later. they forgot some of our dishes and some came right at the very end by the time we were full. prices are alright, foods alright, service is alright. nothing memorable

Yum Cha used to be our go-to dim sum spot every time we were in Vegas, but unfortunately the quality has really gone downhill over the past couple of years. We tried a variety of dishes and most were disappointing. The baked BBQ pork bun wasn't crispy at all, and the BBQ pork filling tasted noticeably different than before, almost like it wasn't made fresh. The shrimp and pork siu mai came out room temperature and was standard. The beef rice noodle seemed over-steamed with a mushy texture, though the sweet and savory soy sauce it came with did help balance out the dish. The shrimp dumplings (har gow) had a thin wrapper, but it also felt over-steamed and gelatinous, making it too soft and mushy. The fried pork taro dumpling was especially disappointing, it was clearly re-fried, with an extremely hard exterior that was difficult to pierce through even with chopsticks. The inside was a dark brown color, when it should have been light purple, which really threw it off. We were last here only 2 years ago and ordered the fried pork taro dumplings which came out perfectly, so maybe today was just a fluke. The one bright spot was the radish cake, which was thankfully fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy inside, exactly how I remembered it growing up and easily the best dish we ordered today. Food came out very fast (within 3 minutes), but unfortunately speed came at the cost of quality. Given how poor the execution was this visit compared to how great it used to be, I don't think this will be a spot I will return to again.

Came here craving dim sum. I've been here a couple of times before and really enjoyed it in the past, but unfortunately the quality this visit was a miss. Aside from the radish cake, most of the food came out lukewarm, not hot, which made me wonder if it had been sitting for a while. Shu Mai - Very standard. Heavier on pork than shrimp flavor, and the appearance was off, the color didn't look like traditional shu mai and was missing that classic orange hue. Taro Fried Dumpling - A complete miss. The shell was overly hard and difficult to bite into, and the filling tasted like straight pork with no taro flavor. This used to be good on previous visits, so this was disappointing. Beef Chow Fun - Just okay. It felt like something was missing. The noodles weren't as soft or silky as expected, and the sauce lacked that slightly sweet soy flavor. BBQ Pork Buns - The bun itself was nicely golden and baked well, but the filling was off--very mushy, no texture, and the seasoning didn't hit. Radish Cake - The clear star of the meal. Super crispy, airy, and full of flavor. This dish alone saved the experience. Overall, this visit didn't live up to my past experiences here. I'm hoping this was just an off day, because the food I've had here before was much better.

As you enter the dining room, there's nothing very special. I will say I like the openness between tables. The menu offers a lot of options. Everything that we ordered was very good. I wish we had focused more on the dim some options as the ones that we chose we're all good. The lunch dishes were a little underwhelming, but to be fair that's on us. We should have stuck to ordering off of the dim sum menu. I think I would definitely go back.

Love this place. We have been a few times already and each time it has not disappointed us. My hubby started with the Seafood Dumpling Soup...he finished every last drop! Then came the Chicken LoMein. The chicken was tender and the noodles, perfectly cooked. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was perfection with the right balance of onions, pineapple chunks, and bell peppers this dish comes with Steamed Rice. You can't leave without trying some dim sum items, so we ordered the BBQ Pork Baked Buns, Shrimp and Pork Shumai, and lastly, Red Bean Balls with were crispy and soft, so good! The 3 dim sum items were fantastic! The ambience is relaxed, the dining room is very large and can accommodate large parties. There are several TVs throughout but who's watching TV with all this amazing food on the table. P.S. Their service was very prompt and the food was served hot!

An awesome spot for traditional and vegan dim sum. The food was really good, hot, and fresh. My husband and I tried a few dishes: The Salt & Pepper crispy Pumpkin, chive dumplings, steamed buns with veggie meat alternative and the fired eggplant in sauce. We really loved the chive dumpling and the steamed buns which were really fluffy. The fried eggplant was also good though it was a tad sweet for us. I enjoyed trying their chili crisp sauce. I really want to go back and try more here. Next time I want to try their Chinese churros, roti with chickpea potato curry, lemongrass curry hot pot with fried tofu, and the veggie spicy mango sauce dish. Yum Cha literally means in Cantonese :"Drink tea" and the terms is used sometimes for a dim sum daytime meal with tea. Not much of an atmosphere here but I found it to be a really cool place from a cultural experience perspective. it was an absolute mad house with a substantial wait even for a party of two at 11:30 am on a weekday around the holidays (2024) Not sure if that is typical. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

Very busy at 11:15 AM on 1/2/26. Took awhile to order because the menu is long and confusing. There was really no ambience to this restaurant. Ordered N7, very tasty, N1 Lo Mein lukewarm, chef specialties good, #11 okay and Chinese tea. Was a good meal, enjoyed it but would probably not return

    Tai N.

Came back here and even better the second time. Lo mein is so good and all the dim sum hits! Must try!

    Debbie K.

Good dim sum, reasonable prices. Service is pretty good. They have a big dinner room. Good for large parties. My favorite here is the pork dumplings and congee. The shrimp rice noodles are good but the sauce is not. That's one of my favorites to get at any dim sum place but the sauce here is bland. That's my only complaint.

How much per person in Yum Cha buffet? Thanks!

    It's not a buffet. It's a dine in restaurant.

    Did this restaurant close?

Not that I know of...We ate there last month.

    Do i need a reservation?

In the many times that I've been to Yum Cha, we did not need a reservation. They had open tables each time we've visited.

    Yes, they do

    Do they have vegetarian options?

Yes there are a lot of vegan dim sum options and vegetarian/vegan entrees

    Do they do catering?

They said they offer take out. But, when I tried, they told me they were busy and didn't take take-out order. So, you'd better call them up.

No, you would still be ordering from the menu.

No. I don't know of any place that has Dim Sum that has outside seating. Yum Cha on Decatur and Spring Mt. Rd. or Orchids Garden on Sahara and Lindell are my two favorites.

It's not all you can eat but it's worth it. I wouldn't pass it up just 'cause it's not all you can eat. I know I loved it.

    Do they take reservations?

I don't know whether they specifically take reservations, though I assume that they would. However, I can tell you that I've been there about five times total in the last three months and I've never had nor needed a reservation. The facility is… Read more

Pork and Shrimp Siu Mai (5/5): The absolute highlight of the meal and easily one of the best versions of this classic dish available. The order comes with four enormous pieces that taste incredibly fresh, with every single bite packed to the brim with juicy, distinct chunks of real shrimp and pork. Bean Curd Skin Roll (5/5): Another standout favorite of the visit. The dish includes three large rolls cut cleanly in half, packed with incredibly juicy meat filling. It's especially delicious when you ladle the savory sauce from the bottom of the plate over each bite. Cream Egg Yolk Bun (5/5): A dessert that tastes like a cross between an egg tart and a sweet pineapple bun. The sweet egg yolk cream center is warm and exceptionally gooey, so you'll want to take your first bite carefully to prevent the runny filling from splattering. Salt and Pepper Squid (4/5): A very clean, airy, and crispy appetizer that shows zero signs of being fried in old kitchen oil. While the batter leans a bit light on the expected salt and savory seasoning, the abundance of thinly sliced fresh jalapeno peppers added a spicy kick. Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf (4/5): A very solid, comforting option with excellent overall flavor throughout the rice, though the savory meat filling hidden inside the center felt a little sparse. Beef Tripe with Ginger and Scallion (4/5): A dim sum staple featuring an incredibly delicious, gingery sauce and great savory flavor. Beef Congee (4/5): We ordered the medium-sized bowl, which easily yielded at least 4 smaller bowls of congee, making it a perfect shared carb to round out the meal. It had a comforting consistency with a subtle note of ginger, though it personally sits just below a traditional preserved egg and pork style for me. Logistics Tip: Arriving around noon on the weekend means encountering a packed house, but the staff moves the crowd efficiently and gets tables turned over in short order. You place your order by marking your selections directly onto a paper slip, and the kitchen sends items out to your table as soon as they're ready, meaning dishes will arrive in a random, staggered flow throughout your dining experience.

The pork is covered with thick batter. It is neither crispy nor flavorful. We also had the honey walnut shrimp. The shrimps were big but there's too much mayo on it. But I like that the shrimps lay on top of steamed broccoli. Also ordered Tofu with veggies dish which was decent. It's my first time here so I don't know whether it's a fluke or it's just a different chef, or the regular chef has an 'off' day. The place is really nice though with pretty tablecloths and nice chair covers. Service is good. But overall -- for a Chinese restaurant- it all boils down to the taste of the food. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future. We'll see.

We also got the radish cake, shumai, sticky rice in lotus leaf, shrimp rice rolls, and deep-fried shrimp-stuffed eggplant. Everything was good, but I especially loved the radish cake and the deep-fried eggplant with shrimp. The radish cake had such a great texture and a rich, savory flavor.
