Everything was very good traditional dim sum fare, snd while it is not flashy like other dim sum spots in vegas, they cover their bases well and I can feel the authenticity catered toward their target audience. Their pork and chive dumpling was especially tasty and well executed and their har gow was also bouncy and fresh. The Best items were their salted egg yolk buns which were fresh and hot and absolutely oozing with the perfect salty sweet custard which followed a theme as their tofu pudding was silky luscious and super light with the perfect amount of sweetness. Almost everything I've gotten here is very good. The only thing sub par would be the signature dim sum item xiu mai. Very small and kind of tough in texture. Not really juicy so disappointing. Their har gow is actually very good and their steam lava egg buns is to die for with a lot of filling!! Takeout is always pretty fast with about a 10min turn around time. They provide soy sauce and chili oil for all take out orders. They also have hot and sour soup and egg drop soup. We came in on Thursday late morning, and it was quiet with attentive service and a relaxed, soft lighting ambiance. The food came out freshly made and rather quickly. We ordered the spare ribs and chicken feet, both were equally delicious, and we can't get enough of them. The West Lake beef soup, fried rice, and bok choy were very good, with adequate portions and left us satisfied. Decided to check out yum cha and it was a great decision. This hole in the wall dim sum restaurant did not disappoint. I ordered the pork and shrimp shumai and the shrimp hagao and it was nothing extraordinary but still good. I was recommended the spicy wonton which was not very spicy but tasted like sweet soy sauce with a very base mild spice which I quite enjoyed. The older gentleman server recommended the golden lava for dessert and it was also tasty. It is similar to custard buns served at other dim sum places but was more savory salty and not sweet; the bottom was soft and the top was very flaky. Service was fast and my server was very friendly. We ordered about 21 items and I enjoyed everything except the har gao (蝦餃) -- wrapper was super thick. I even loved the 蘿蔔糕 (radish cake) which I normally am not a fan of. The one here is super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside -- exactly how it's supposed to be! The only thing that was weird was the interior -- it has a cafeteria feel about it. Not really worth ordering a bun that lacks bbq meat and falls short in flavor. Their Lo mein with beef was salty. The garlic string beans was overcooked and didn't have garlic taste. The calamari was too peppery. The walnut shrimp was an average dish. With the small portion sizes, I feel that they are overpricing their dishes. The bbq pork bun does have quite a bit of filling. For some reason though, the food doesn't have the aesthetic that other dim sum places have, perhaps for the lack of garnishes on their dishes. They charge $1.25pp for hot tea, 18% service charge for our party of 4 - which I have never experienced unless it's: 1) party of 6 or more, or 2) a highly rated, sought-after establishment, then a 3% credit card surcharge. Soft Grated Coconut Mochi- coconut had a perfect sweetness. Mochi was a good texture. Shrimp Rice Noodle (cheung fun)- very silky. Lotus Leaf Pork Mushroom Sticky Rice- very fragrant, rice wasn't too mushy. Filling as flavorful. Eggplant Tofu- (vegetable tofu entree) wasn't that great, eggplant skin was very tough. I also tried two of their specials that you don't find at too many places, sugar cane shrimp $7.28 and shrimp stuffed eggplant $8.78. The hubby doesn't eat pork, so he was happy that they had chicken shumai $5.68, chicken sweet & sour roll $5.68. Those two are rare. It's the first time I've seen them at dim sum. For dessert we ordered red bean jin dui $5.68 and tofu fa with ginger syrup served hot $6.68. They supposedly have the best in town. I found everything that we ordered exceptional and very authentic. The shrimp dumplings came with four pieces and they were huge and fresh. My favorite was the sugar cane shrimp. The fried minced shrimp were so good, especially dipped in the sweet sour sauce. We loved the juicy shui mai, ribs in black bean sauce and their tofu skin. The sticky rice was nice too, not too mushy or sticky. The misses were the congee with pork, pork slices instead of floss. And the taro cake were greasy and not the freshest. The eggplant with shrimp was over steamed and the shrimp balls were just ok. I would come back and try some other dishes.
