Sometimes you need a donut from an old school donut shop, so we were happy to have discovered Yum-ee which isn't too far from home. Popped in around 8:30am on a Saturday and it was jumping, definitely come early if you're planning to go. They have a nice selection of glazed, custard, creme, and jelly filled. This place is cash only so be prepared. You can get a dozen of their more classic donuts for $12 or $1.35 each and the larger donuts (think bowtie, cinnamon roll, apple fritter) for $3 each. My husband has come to Yum-ee since he was a tot in the 90's and into the 2000's as an adolescent and the flavor is timeless. Donuts are excellent and the women who run the store are always incredibly friendly and welcoming. They are especially kind to my young daughter and often will offer her a donut hole to eat while we are getting our order. Our favorite donut is the maple, cream-filled donut but all of their donuts are excellent. AMAZING small town doughnut shop. Soft and fresh doughnuts! Get there early for the best selection. Where else can you get a dozen doughnuts for $6.00? No place else that I know of. I was in the shop and the woman behind the counter asked what I was looking for. When I told her I was hoping for a chocolate cream filled "long john", she said they hadn't filled any yet that morning and only had the vanilla cream filled at that time, but she went in the back and filled 4 with chocolate cream just for my order. It's hard to find a bakery that's open on Sundays - but it can be done. A steal at $6 for a dozen donuts, they offer all of the usual delicious suspects - honey dipped, long johns and donut holes ($1 a dozen). We LOVE this little donut shop!!!! It's TRULY a "donut shop" -- the kind you NEVER find anymore!! And they have the BEST donuts EVER!!! I'd highly recommend this place if you like donuts at all! They have quite a variety and it's VERY popular with the "locals"... Many times when we walk in, there will be people sitting along the counter chatting away -- gives you a real "Midwestern small town feeling"! The donuts are ALWAYS "melt in your mouth" fresh & soft! My favorite is their cream filled "long john".... My husband likes the "cinnamon swirl" glazed and their coffee... My son likes their donut holes... This place is located right near the main "square" in Sunbury which is nice too -- you can take a stroll around the pretty square area afterwards. There's not much seating -- one booth, one small table plus counter seats -- but it seems adequate most of the time. ONE word of CAUTION -- they ONLY take cash or checks -- which is posted on a sign on their door -- but don't get "caught" without the necessary method of payment if you're craving donuts! LOL... They also have kind of goofy hours - some days they're open til 11 a.m., some days til noon (forget which ones are which now) -- but that's it -- am guessing since they aren't a "bakery" maybe they figure people only eat donuts for breakfast...?? I needed volunteers to help pick up food at our local Johnstown food drive. When word got out that the donuts were coming from Yum-EE, I got more volunteers than had signed up! Yum-EE is the best! This is a great little "old school" donut joint. Line of barstools and a counter. One table that seats 4. Solid donuts and truck driver coffee. I love it. Donuts are really very good. Go try this place if you haven't. 100x better than the junk the box stores and chains are pumping out. Take cash and I think they take checks but not sure. No cards. read more

Wonderful donut shop on the Sunbury square, certainly nothing fancy, you won't find any hipster potato chip or bacon varieties, and that's fine by me, just really great fresh made donuts and coffee. Not really a regular donut customer, but every once in a while there is something so damn satisfying about that morning experience and this is the place to enjoy it. I love bringing my girls in here on Sunday mornings to let the mrs get an extra few winks and see the little ones' eyes widen with the options.
