The space is very casual kind of bar-like place. Really cute decorations with a full bar. Self-service water. Plenty of outdoor seating as well. We ordered Japchae, plain Korean fried chicken, yangnyeom (spicy) fried chicken, and Yukgaejang. We loved the Japchae and both fried chicken. Super crispy juicy and flavorful chickens. The noodles tasted like beef bulgogi in the best way. I was a bit disappointed in the yukgaejiang. That's my favorite soup and it was a bit sweet. I didn't expect the sweet. Plus the beef was sliced beef and not shredded beef. If we are in this area again, we will be back. But maybe skip the soup next time. Stick to the yummy chicken and japchae! read more

This was our second time here and while the food is good, hubby was ready to leave after waiting almost ten minutes to be seated. It seems like there were only two people working so the server, who I think is the owner, was in the back and had no idea we arrived. Still a great spot for Korean food and a cute bar. Came here as I was passing by the area and was craving some korean food. The food is good and there is a solid selection of more pub like dishes. Got the galbi, japchae, seafood pancake, and soondubu jigae. I enjoyed all the foods and from what I heard about the tofu soup- it was delicous. The seafood pancake was crispy and full of different proteins. The galbi was flavorful and juicy. Although the food did take a little time to come out, it was worth the wait. The water is self serve in the front and the staff were really nice. This location is more like casual dining and a great place to chat with some friends while snacking. There is indoor and outdoor seating, so this place is pet friendly! (+1 for me) Although I have tried more flavorful versions of these dishes in CA, if I am in the area I would come here for Korean food again. The food was good, and I appreciated how different the offerings were from what I usually eat and the amount of variety offered. I ordered two items because I was starved. The first was the Korean fried chicken wings, and they were delicious. The soon tofu soup was next, and it was the spiciest thing I have ever had and equally flavorful. My sinuses are still running. My parents loved their dishes as well. We were served multiple small cups with various pickled veggies and great sauces. The service was excellent, and the two men running the restaurant were calm and polite. I felt we were cared for from the moment we entered the restaurant. The service was fast and the food arrived quickly. The ambiance was stimulating as they were playing techno music. The aesthetic was almost industrial, with decent seating inside and out. I got the bibimbap with beef. The banchan was cooked perfectly and overall I was pleasantly surprised with how good it was. With all the toppings, gochugaru and soybean the bowl was very tasty, BUT, 4 stars because everything was slightly under-seasoned. If the banchan and meat were seasoned better with slightly more sesame oil, sesame seeds and slightly more salt/sugar where necessary, it would've been an amazing bowl! For now just ok, but add a little more seasoning in the banchan and meat and it has potential! read more

i was blown away by the food here! the teokbokki had such a satisfying texture and i loveddddd the cheese on top. the $1 to add it was worth it. this was definitely my favorite dish. we also got the soondubu (not pictured) which was very flavorful and perfect for the weather. the crispy bossam i would not recommend it. i love all the veggies that came with it, but the pork was very dry. i prefer steamed bossam to this. the space is very cute. it's like a casual bar environment. this would be a nice place to catch up with friends and have drinks over a delicious meal. i would totally come back here! read more

My husband and I recently went out to dinner at Sool Korean Kitchen! We're so happy about this new restaurant in Lake Oswego! The food came out quick and was wonderfully flavored. The banchan (free sides) were great, and I thought the kimchi especially stood out. The tteokbokki with the cheese on top was some of the best I've had in Portland. This was a "first foray" into Korean cooking. I had the KFC Wings, the Sutbul Beef BBQ, and the Cabernet. The wings were yummy and well-prepared. The Sutbul lettuce wraps were great (so tender and flavorful), and I would recommend them wholeheartedly. They were accompanied by a variety of delicious side dishes. The Cabernet was a pleasing choice. for this meal. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere had a muted sports-bar vibe, but it was a good family-friendly spot. I suspect the potstickers and spring rolls were previously frozen or purchased premade (wouldn't recommend). The main course dishes were very good and had very good flavor. Ambiance was nice and service was good. They appeared to have a very nice selection of Soju and other bar choices which we did not sample. Set your financial expectations that it'll be $100 plus for two people out the door. But anymore, that seems to be the case with any table service restaurant experience in the area. I'm sure the rent is extremely high there as this "mixed use" location tends to eat restaurants (pun intended). Pricing and non-homemade appetizers are my only reasons for deducting one star. Stopped by around 9pm one evening because they are the only restaurant in the area that closes at 11pm on a weekday. Galbi tang was ok. Sutbol pork bbq was not hot. Stir-fried squid tasted stale. Rice cake dumpling soup tasted really stale! Steamed egg was on only thing on the menu that tasted great and not stale! As much as I wanted to support local business owners, they need to know how their food tastes. The food quality is consistently excellent--fresh, well-balanced, and clearly made with care, my two go-to dishes is the grilled chicken or the Dolsot Bibimbap, both served with rice and Banchan (small dishes). The Dolsot Bibimbap is prepared in a hot stone bowl with adds to the presentation to the meal. They have a have a bar, so you can always order a shot and beer. The space itself adds to the experience, with both indoor and outdoor seating and TVs playing scenic videos of Korea, which is a surprisingly nice touch--especially if you've traveled there and enjoy a bit of nostalgia with your meal. Hidden away off Boone's Ferry is this pretty great little Korean bistro serving up some tasty comfort food. During a recent weekday lunch, it appeared to be a one-man operation. Our host/server/chef apologized for being short handed, then proceeded to take our order, cook it up and serve it while tending to a few other tables. Lucky it wasn't too busy. We ordered a scallion pancake, which was massive, fried to a nice crisp, and came with soy sauce for dipping. For our entrees, we went with the beef bulgogi and chargrilled chicken plates, each served with rice, kimchi and array of Korean fixings. It was all satisfying and portions were big. Just took my teen boy to Sool for dinner and we both loved it! So many good things on the menu, it was hard to decide and prices are very fair. Also, my son called the vibes "immaculate." Whether you are new to Korean food or grew up on it, you'll find so many things to love here - guaranteed. I got the dolsot bimbimbap with beef and a fried egg on top that comes in a big beautiful stone bowl with veggies and the most addictive crispy rice. Definitely let the rice cook at the bottom of the bowl for a while for extra crispness. OMG. The beef is so tender, the egg perfectly cooked, and the Banchan (little side dishes like spicy kimchee and Korean mac salad) were fantastic. Comes with spicy sauce on the side if you want to level up your spice game. Teen ordered the chicken with onions and rice in a hot pot and I think he inhaled it because he consumed it so quickly! A full, satisfying entree for $20. Next time we'll try the "KFC fried chicken" and the kalbi (beef ribs). And maybe the green onion pancake. And the tofu soup. Stop me! We also enjoyed the videos of Seoul on the wall across from us - felt a bit immersive. Our server was attentive and we enjoyed speaking with him.
