I had a great experience here. We came in on a Wednesday afternoon around 3pm. There were a few tables in use but for the most part it was fairly empty. The decor is your typical seafood boil decor. I loved the fish hanging from the ceilings. Our server was Jody and she alone deserves 5 stars. She was so amazing and took great care of us. If we come back I will request her each time. The Food: we had a big group so everyone ordered a variety of things. I opted for a few things off the appetizer menu. I ordered the Fried Scallops which came with 6 scallops, the Hushpuppies which came with 10 hushpuppies and a cinnamon butter dip, and lastly I ordered the the Fried Shrimp which came with 10 shrimps and cocktail sauce. Everything was pretty good. The scallops were my least favorite, I was not a fan of the chewiness, but dipped in some tartar sauce they were not that bad. I also did not like the small portion of scallops for the price. The hushpuppies were amazing! They had a delicious taste and also had chunks of corn in it which I loved. The corn wasn't too chunky and blended perfectly with the breading. The cinnamon butter dip that came with it added a nice sweet touch but I honestly preferred them by itself. The shrimp were nice and chunky and battered to perfection. I would say the shrimp did lack flavor on the breading, but I ordered a side of Cajun sauce and mixed it with the tartar sauce and that really elevated the shrimp. Everyone else really enjoyed their food. Some people ordered seafood bags and were very pleased with their portions and taste. We even had a birthday cake that Jody was so gracious to store for us until it was time to eat it. Hubby order the flounder (which was plentiful) and the onion rings had a nice crunch. The seafood boil (I got lobster, mussels, shrimp, and crawfish) with Yummi Special Seasoning with no spice. I found out that the "spice" is the flavor! Our server brought me the medium spice to add to my bag and it brought flavor profile up big time! Medium was not spicy at all. The service here is always hit or miss, but I love the interactive graffiti style surfacing that you can write on. We almost left as we waited nearly 30 minutes before we were even acknowledged by a host with multiple wait staff walking by and intentionally looking away. The restaurant was not at all busy, just poorly maintained by the staff. One staff member was laying on the bench out front which was a bit odd. That said, the snow crab with yummi seasoning in my go to. Fried shrimp has great breading as well. Solid seafood here. Went during lunch hours on a weekday. We were greeted when we walked in, took a few minutes for our waitress to come get drink orders but that was the only not so positive review point. After that we received great service and was checked on thru out the meal. My boil was missing eggs but they brought me out a extra portion. Our food came out quickly and was hot. I ordered take out from here and I was underwhelmed. I ordered the Seafood Combo A which comes with 1/2 lb shrimp, 1/2 lb snow crab legs and 1/2 lb sausage with the yummy special sauce medium. The sauce was more like mild. I also ordered the Seafood Catch with 1/2 shrimp, corn and potatoes (hot yummy special.) This sauce was not hot at all either, more like a Cajun seasoning salt vs being spicy. The corn was the best part. The potatoes are cooked well-- not too hard. I also ordered a side of eggs, which were very rubbery. I couldn't eat them which was extremely disappointing because this is one of the best parts of a seafood boil. My Texas people gather here. Turn around and go back to your hotel or wherever you came from. Imagine driving a hour from your hotel for some bs. First of all the crawfish if $18/lb. I ordered house and you would think with all the flavors mixed together there would be some type of seasoning. To my surprise the only flavor they have is grease. I couldn't even eat it bc I didn't want to poison my unborn child. We picked this restaurant solely because of the location. It is located right across from movie theater which make it ideal for a dinner and movie type of night. We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait, so we anxiously waited at the bar for 2 spots to open up. YAY! they did. We ordered the dinner with the house seasoning/sauce. It was really really good. The seasoning was very spicy, but the kind of spicy that hits you after a few times of having it. The seafood was fresh and hot and the accompanies vegetables and protein were also hot and fresh. It was SOOOOOOO much food. We could not finish it. We opted out for dessert. My vice is the drinks. I ordered a Mojito. It was awful. It tasted of Sprite and lemonade with a not so good mint leaf. My boyfriend didn't have any issue with his drink, in fact, he ordered two. The food was good. I ordered 1/2 shrimp with head off and & 1/2 crawfish. I got it sauced with butter garlic only. The order also came with 1 corn & 1 potato. The restaurant did have a check in policy and get free order of breadsticks but when I showed the code to the waitress, the app was either glitching or it is no long an option. When ordering, I highly suggest sticking to 1 sauce or 1 spice. I had a hankering for a good ole low country boil, and Yummi Crab was the play of the day as the result. Choose from fried seafood, custom boils, or pre set combos. I went with combo c: 1 Lobster Tail, 1/2 Dungeness Crab, 1/2 lb Shrimp (no head). Choose from several flavor options and a spiciness level. I went with hot for spiciness and Yummi Special for flavors: lemon pepper, cajun seasoning, and garlic butter. Combos come with one corn, two potatoes, and an egg. My friend and I both received 1 potato. I didn't want to be that guy and ask, but I wanted to sub the egg for another corn or potato. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and outside of the missing potatoes, everything else was correct. I chowed down and really enjoyed myself for the most part. So what separated this from 5 stars? Honest to goodness, the seasoning mix didn't have enough balance. It quickly dissolved into a chili oil type of monstrosity. This isn't the worst, and I'm smart enough to know the components of butter. All that said, I would've really loved to taste some lemon pepper and garlic. Service was great throughout the experience. Our drinks never sat empty. With how quickly we downed our drinks, the server correctly assumed that we would want to go cups. She brought us to go drinks without being asked. My niece really likes this place so we went as a family. They were very accommodating with food allergies which was great. The place has a "dive" feel to it so it comes across as unclean. (Lots of graffiti and writing on every surface). The food was ok. Over priced.... But in the standard all these types of restaurants are over priced kinda way. Upon arrival, we were seated very promptly. Server was very nice and friendly. We were so hungry we already knew what we wanted. Erred a soft drink comes with standard free refills. After we placed our order we got our food in about 15 minutes. The calamari came out first then 5 minutes later the main courses came out. My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous meal here last night. The shrimp, sausage, corn and potato boil was delicious with everything perfectly cooked. The wait staff was attentive. To make the evening even more memorable, there was live music by some very talented singers and musicians. We ate our fill and had extra to take home for another meal. Reasonably priced. Went here tonight for the first time. Yummi has only been open since July11th, so it's been eight days since opening. I was surprised they took reservations, and glad they did, because at 6PM Friday night there was a wait. Actually, when we left at 7:20 there was quite a large crowd inside and out waiting for a table. They have completely revamped the decor and it has a real good seafood atmosphere, but very childish, or chintzy, with writing and graffiti already written on the walls. We were immediately seated and the waitress took our drink orders. I ordered an appetizer of Calamari and our friends ordered onion rings. The calamari was good, but a bit too greasy. The cocktail sauce served with it was good. I ordered the fried catfish (6 pieces) with Cajun fries. My wife ordered the six oz. lobster tail with two potatoes and a small half ear of corn. Our friends ordered the basket of catfish and shrimp combo and the 6 oz lobster like my wife. They brought us a big pail (for garbage) that included plastic bibs, plastic gloves (2 for each person), a wet-one, and a plastic fork. No plates, no knives, that's it. The lobster, corn and potatoes came out in a large clear plastic bag, knotted at the top, with a metal tray that looked like a pizza pan. My wife wondered "How do I eat this". You dump it all out on the pizza pan, put on your gloves, and open the cracked lobster with your hands. Eat the corn, lobster with your hands. Try to cut the potatoes with your plastic fork, which isn't strong enough to cut the lobster or potato. Ladies, don't come dressed up. Our friend had the lobster with the special top secret Yummi Crab sauce and liked it. It had a little after kick. My wife liked that better than her lobster, which was ordered with the garlic butter. She did say that her lobster texture did not seem firm. The corn was inedible and said her corn seemed to either be frozen corn or have been boiled for an extremely long time. It was not crisp, but soggy, and had no texture. She said it tasted like a frozen ear of corn that you microwave. The potato was fine, she just couldn't cut it with the plastic fork. We did ask them for a plate for our fish. I must say, there were six pieces of catfish, which was a large meal. Our total bill for the catfish basket and 6 oz lobster with a glass of Chardonnay, appetizer of Calamari, was $44 before the tip. The seafood boils start at around $25. My wife was not satisfied with the menu, as they have no salads, or grilled fare. Everything is boiled or fried. We mentioned this to the waitstaff and they said they were working on adding salads to the menu in the future. I also asked for malt vinegar for my fish and they don't have it. Bottom line is we have no desire to go back. It seems like a low grade, low quality, Red Lobster with not as good food or atmosphere. Our friend thought the atmosphere was "cute". read more

This is about the forth "seafood in a bag" restaurant that's opened in greater Columbia, two being in Harbison area and one on Oneil Court. So far, I prefer this one. It's not a seafood restaurant that people seem to be familiar with, i.e. containing hush puppies, broiled offerings, salads, etc. but they're in line with the similar bagged seafood restaurants in Atlanta and Las Vegas. My friend & I shared a pound of crawfish which came in a clear bag tied at the top. It was served with 1 corn on cob & 2 redskin potatoes, Cajun seasoning & medium spicy (medium = about like Texas Pete). You can also get mild, hot and extra hot. Nice sized, easily peeled and tasty. Not Rosewood Crawfish Festival quality, but that only happens once a year. She got the fried catfish basket and it was delicious and plentiful, as were the waffle fried sweet potato fries that came with it. Cole Slaw is not on the menu. I got the fried oyster basket (10 pieces) and they were great. Tender and juicy big stewing oysters. Unlike some of the others places, they didn't offer blue crab. Their crab offerings were Snow, Dungeness & King Crab Legs. They didn't have their liquor license the night we were there, but I think they have one now. At least their bar was set up with beer taps at the ready. I was happy with what I got. I'll be back to try some of their other offerings. read more
