The fish is great, the season was on point, the wait time was a bit long,, but the food is fresh and hot, so the time I waited was worth it

Every so often you have to take a scroll back and see if anything new has been added to the menus. Not sure if this is new, but it's definitely something I haven't tried. We tried the Bang Bang Shrimp along with the Fried Shrimp Po' Boy platter and Hush Puppies. The Bang Bang Shrimp sauce was different from what we had tasted before, but it was good. I was looking for a sweeter taste but again, it still had a great taste. It came on a bed of lettuce. The Shrimp Po' Boy platter came with French Fries. The fries were crunchy and delicious! Matter of fact, they were perfect:) The Shrimp Po' Boy was good and simple. It didn't have a lot of stuff on it, which was cool for me. Again, the sauce was okay but the shrimp and fixings were delightful. These Hush puppies are always good, so no complaints there. Friendly staff and clean restaurant. This is a place I recommend. I will be back soon:)

I ordered the shrimp; they were seasoned and breaded well, cooked fresh, and a great size. I really enjoyed them. The fries were fresh and tasty. They are the crispy seasoned fries. The hush puppies are so delicious and greasy but are very delicious. The lemonade is very delightful and refreshing. It's clean in the restaurant, and everyone is so nice. Parking was available, with a decent size lot.

The food is off the chain, people. They make everything in house in the back, according to friends I've made that have worked here, and you can TELL. The salmon ponchartrain? Jesus Christ and all that is holy. I thought I met my maker. Even the green beans had me double-taking. I wasn't going to get dessert bc I thought I was going to explode but THE KEY LIME PIE THE SIZE OF A SMALL COUNTRY?! My god! The ambiance of this place is just ROMANTIC. People need to experience it. Shoutout to the fabulous servers, talented bartenders, and the wonderful manager that kept stopping by to make sure that not only was I having a good time, but everything was exceeding expectations.

I felt like I was transferred back in time to a different era, and I loved the upscale environment that the restaurant presented.  Having said that, I sat at the bar, and arguably didn't even get the full Blue Marlin experience. Nevertheless, and in spite of how classy the restaurant was, I still had an awesome time at the bar. I got the chicken tenders and fries, as well as one of the local IPAs that they had on tap. The bartender (I wish I had gotten his name) was a really cool guy, and I was very appreciative of both the service he provided me with as well as the fact that he took the time to chat with me like a regular person. He displayed the perfect combination of professionalism, without coming off as robotic. My aforementioned tenders and fries were pretty good as well, and I liked how they carried some local beers to compliment the brand name items.  All-in-all, I really enjoyed my visit to Blue Marlin, I'll definitely be back in the future, and I'd recommend that anybody stop in at least once!

Buttermilk Fried Chicken (4/5): Decent fried chicken. I didn't expect it to be a boneless breast. Dark meat would've given it more flavor. The potatoes were flavorful and creamy. The collard greens were too acidic for me. Fried Adluh Yellow Grit Cakes (3/5): Would've been a lot better if it was fried more and had a crispier exterior. The herb goat cheese was good, but there was a little too much of it. Loved the roasted garlic (great for spreading on the complimentary bread!) Okay, so I went to this location for my birthday in November because I was craving a boil bag and…read morehadn't had one in about a year. I feel like good seafood spots in Columbia are limited, and I didn't want to try somewhere new and end up disappointed, so I stuck with what I knew. The food here is usually pretty consistent. I also hadn't been to this specific location in at least a year, When we entered the foyer, we were immediately met with a strange smell--honestly, it smelled like sewage. At first, I thought it was just me, but other customers who came in behind us and were waiting on their orders noticed it too, and we actually talked about it. Once you walked into the dining area, the smell was gone, which was a bit of a relief. Still, the smell of sewage is never appealing, especially in a place that serves food. Anyway, we got our boil bags and left. Overall, the food was just okay. My main complaint was the size of the crab legs--they were very small and barely had any meat. I wanted two clusters and a half-pound of shrimp, but unfortunately that particular option is no longer on the menu, which made it more expensive to customize than ordering one of the preset boil bags. Let's just say it wasn't worth it. My family got the sausage and shrimp bags those had a better quantity of food. The shrimp were good, but I was very disappointed with the crab legs. I probably won't be back, mainly because what I paid didn't really measure up to the food I received. That said, the staff was nice.

He had been wanting this for a while but that all changed when he opened it when we got home. There was no creamy risotto! He was disappointed that they had forgotten the risotto. The drinks were blended very well and used fresh lime juice, which was nice. The appetizers -- the kimchi fries and the boneless wings were pretty standard. The fries were crunchy, but we felt like there was more cheese than there was kimchi and sauce, so we've had better kimchi fries elsewhere. The cheese was very gooey though. The boneless wings weren't as crunchy as they could have been, especially coming out in a stone dish, but the garlic soy sauce was still pretty good. Our mains were really good -- the japchae, which I ordered with fried tofu, had the right texture and flavor, and was delicious yet spicy. The tofu was a little bland though. My partner enjoyed the squid and pork belly dish and said that the sauce was similar to the japchae sauce. The portions were pretty normal and not too big, so we had a few leftovers but not too many.
