I was in here yesterday to pick up a friend & myself some mild chocolate nonpareils. I was sooooooo disappointed to see the increase in prices on their bagged candies & nuts and the contents being less than how much they use to fill the bags up with the product. I get that most everything has gone up in price but to give less and charge more is outrageous and I don't agree with it. I saw lots of things I wanted to buy & bring back home (Vegas) to share with my co-worker's but I just didn't want to pay the price for 1/2 the amount. It's definitely a great store to go in and look @ all their products, even stuff from your childhood. I'm sure out of towners have no problem spending the amount that Yummies is charging too so I'll save it for them!! Iol I did have to get some fudge as I saw they had my favorite which is penuchi without nuts & it was delicious!! This is a better deal because the price is based on weight, so no skimping there!! This is a must store to stop in if you have a sweet tooth and you're in town or close by!! They do have some souvenirs you can buy and a bunch of non-editable gifts. OMG I cannot stress enough to stop at this candy store. You will feel as if your thigh is gaining weight as you walk around and fill your basket. This place took me back to my childhood. Every single candy you purchased as a child this store has it. I'm just so glad this store is not in my hometown.. My doctor thanks you Yummies for being in Kittery, ME. LOL WARNING!!!! If you have kids don't take them inside. This is your one and only warning. There is no sign on the door warning you to leave the kids in the car. Those kids will not want to leave and they will fall out on the floor when you say lets go. LOL I don't have kids but try it and see what happens to you. You will remember this review and think why the HXLL did I bring them inside. LOL I tried not to look but they have a website and you can order online. I might for a special treat but I'm going to try to erase them from my mind. My memory is not that great so maybe I'll remove the labels off the bags. Always a must stop on our way through Maine whether we're coming in from Connecticut or heading back home from connecticut. They have my all-time favorite licorice which is strawberry licorice laces. I came here twice, once to research and check out the place and the second time to pick up some things. They had a small but good Maine themed gifts and I picked up a funny shirt for my friend. They have tons of things to remind you of your childhood in the form of nostalgic candies and snacks. They also have tons of regular candies and snacks, stacked as high as the ceiling. I really had to control myself in the store as you could easily go nuts and make a Costco sided purchase if you keep adding to your basket. They also have fudge, salt water taffy, and gourmet candies behind the counter. I would advise caution when bringing your kids here as they could cause a candy avalanche or just cause you undue stress by wanting to purchase the whole store. Other than that, I would think its definitely worth driving past all the Kittery premium outlets to visit the this hidden gem! read more

Yummies in Kittery is SCHWEEEEET!! My dentist loves that I love this place. I have spoken to other patrons who admit spending more than $100 here on piles and piles of hard to find candy. My favorite? Candy cigarettes. You can by a whole carton here!! Worth the trip and the cost for the nostalgia and to see the kids go nuts. Oh yeh, speaking of nuts, extensive nuts and chocolates here. They have those little tiny wax soda bottles with multi-color liquid sugar in them. [This candy is always a conversation starter about which is the best way to access the syrup-- bite the little wax bottleneck off and squirt the fluid into your mouth, or just put the whole wax bottle in your mouth and chew it up.] And salt water taffy. Pop Rocks. Molasses sponge candy. [I really don't even know what this stuff is actually called but it's like eating square rocks that melt in your mouth and you need a chisel to clean it off your teeth...why would someone pay for something like that? Because it's delicious nostalgia. You can see a bag of it in my photo of what I bought for the one hour car ride back to home.]. I was very reluctant to leave a review, however, after reading others - I have decided to let people know what happened. I have been purchasing a product here for years. I walked in the other day, bought a pound of chocolate, and drove back home, only to realize the chocolate is completely different than before. It tastes different, the shape is different, it looks different, and there is barely any chocolate on the item. I drove back to Yummies and asked for a refund. The manager on duty, a man, turned violent. Once agreeing to refund my money, he whipped the box of chocolates all over the back room, flying everywhere, and slammed the cash register so hard that I thought it was going to come off the table. Every type of candy there is very well organized and in it's own little cubbie with a shelf tag that has the name of the candy on it. They even have an area with fudge in it and quite a good variety of that as well. If you like nuts they also have that available here as well. Plenty of parking in their lot and a very helpful staff. I was delighted to find candy cigarettes here and bought boxes of them for my nephews. I came here because I was told it was full of nostalgic candies. Which is true--but a lot of things fell out of popularity for a reason. Still, it's really fun to browse through the selection of so many types of candies that I didn't know they still made, like candy cigarettes. I was also amazed how many flavors of licorice there were. They've got some Maine souvenirs, taffy, jelly belly fill your own bag, and chocolates by the pound. I will say I wish the bags were a little smaller for cheaper, like half the size, because some things I just wanted to try/nostalgia taste but the bags were too much. The aisles are super narrow, so you can't pass someone who's in an aisle. And they don't have Mars bars. But they do have a lot of stuff that's fun to look over, so if you like candy especially from the past, come by. read more

See it all the time on the Phantom but just still figured if I went in it would be SCARY!!! Well we decided to stop the other day, I was with the Sister in law & my son... I figured let them have fun... OMG - There is candy floor to ceiling... They have several old things you cant find (although they dont have the Bolster bar - hey its my last name I love them)! They have Jelly Bellys in all the flavors that you can scoop on your own which is great, they have about 12,349 pez dispensers which caused quite the scene for my son when trying to get him to Leave the store... They also have tons of little knick knacks & if you know me - I never turn down knick knacks... Magnets & Key chains, Shirts & Sweats... Before long my basket was filled & I was psyched they took the card (over $5.00), walked out with all my Pear Jelly Bellys, some chocolate covered pretzels, way too many Chick-o-stix, pez, magnets & post cards & Charms... OMG - who remembers charms?? Love them! Spent over $50 but it was worth it as the whole group was very happy with all their little finds! Will def be back this summer to try more homemade things they have, ooh forget about the Chocolate covered oreos and Air heads, got them too! Gonna get brittle next time! read more

Wasn't very nice and I couldn't even understand him when he was asking me to mask. I thought he was offering me one then he got all uppity when I said no thanks. Another customer right behind me didn't understand him either. I hate bad service and regardless of selection being pretty good it isn't worth my time or money. Dude lurked around behind people but never once offered to help just lurked like a troll. Customer service would have been "Is there anything I can help you find or can I point you in a direction". If you wanted a customer to move along so close to closing then freaking help them find stuff instead of playing California rolling blackout behind them. read more

Fun, fun, fun!! I was amazed at the variety of candy and such a range of years from the wax lips to the jelly bean Harry Potter theme. It's fun to walk around and recall the childhood memories from the selection of candy for sale. It is so hard to not buy everything! We walked out with bullseye, licorice strings, candy cigarettes, jelly beans, maple drops and the list keeps going on and on!!
