I don't usually write reviews, but here goes! Speedy service. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices for the convenience. Yummy.com is a life saver. So far, I've ordered three times from here, and all my experiences have been wonderful. I will be honest: two out of the three times I have ordered from here, they have called me (within 5 minutes of placing my order) to inform me that they were out of stock of a certain product I had requested. However, this has not a been a big deal to me as I would expect this from a smaller grocery store that delivers. Updating in real time can be rough, dude, so let it go. It's a great service when you've worked a long day and want to avoid the lines at the grocery store. read more

I caught the flu, then I found out about yummy.com, which made being under the weather a bit more bearable. I enjoy being able to order whole fresh fruit for delivery. The fresh salad is good. I was visiting from out of town and found this place online. They are conveniently located, open till midnight and they deliver! The website it a little hard to find but I went to the physical store anyhow. Turned out this grocery store had all my fave stuff - fresh fruit and veggies, Califia farms almond milk, Tofutti vegan cream cheese, Vital Farms eggs, Gardein beefless tips, Endangered Species chocolate bars, unsweetened peanut butter (actually I think it was sunflower seed butter but it tasted good)... Anyhoo, I was in heaven and so happy to find this place. They also carried at least one brand of face wash and lotion that didn't have crappy chemicals in it. Loved this place! read more

i've been using this place as a last resort convenience thing for too long. it's always been bad but it's gotten inexcusable (way before pandemic). Something -will- be expired in your order. Usually with mold. It's just not worth it. Especially considering how many local small businesses this dumb shit put out of work. I love yummy.com. I use it about once a month, sometimes twice, to supplement my regular grocery order. My only complaint, why no fresh chives? They carry a lot of fresh herbs, not chives...puts a damper on making my ranch dressing.. And they always get me my order within a half hour. roxanne read more

I am a frequent delivery customer of theirs. The convenience of this service cannot be beat - that is for sure. Groceries in 30 minutes ? Yes. Please. Thank you. Every single delivery person I have had help me has been a delight! Everyone is so nice, and the customer service is top notch. The only things stopping me from a 5 star review is that I use their services so much I would of hoped for some sort of frequent flier discounts or customer loyalty appreciation options since it is a bit pricier than other delivery services...but again - I know I am paying for convenience. read more

I kept ordering for 1 month weekly during covid19 but they missed +5 items in today's delivery, bad customer service, no staff answers phone, don't respond to emails either, had to drive to the silver Lake store which defeats the purpose of delivery, didn't even get a "sorry", the staff was just so poor w customer service skills, I had to pull open the store doors, Stood there waiting for someone to attend to me. MUST READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE ORDERING DELIVERY. I've never yelped before, because I've never felt this strongly about an establishment. I ordered a couple of groceries, and a sandwich for dinner from Yummy in Silverlake only a few hours ago. They said it would take a half hour... it took an hour. Okay... no big deal... ...until the delivery girl asked to take a picture of my credit card with her personal cell phone (Note: I already gave them the necessary info over the phone). I said "can't I just sign the receipt?" (like every other delivery place in the entire world since the invention of delivery). The girl called the manager and the manager said no. She then took my food and left with it. So after an hour of waiting, I had no dinner. I called the manager who gave the girl the order, and was met with an attitude and given no alternatives as to how I can receive my food. Maybe she doesn't make the rules, but a manager can at least offer a discount for the next time I shop there. Something for my troubles. I've been in the restaurant/customer service industry for over ten years and hold this occupation currently. I would never let a customer leave unhappy if there was something I could do about it. Then I checked my bank account only to find the money had already been taken out of my account. I asked her when I would be getting my refund and she responded "5 to 10 business days" then said, snottily, "that's your bank's fault, not ours". NO... it's absolutely your fault. Am I alone here? With identity theft more prevalent than ever, do I really want a picture of my debit card floating around on a stranger's cellphone? Even if she's honest, who's to say she won't forget her phone at a bar, only to be picked up by someone not so honest? It is simply irresponsible to conduct business in this way. YOU MUST RESPECT THE CUSTOMER'S RIGHT TO PRIVACY. I'm surprised they don't ask for your social security. read more

I was truly disappointed with this place :( I was under the impression that it would be much more "homey", when in reality it is pretty much like any other big name corporation with the only difference being that it is small. They sell all the big names here, with a sprinkling of very expensive specialty items. This place is called yummy.COM so I am assuming that in the sense of convenience (actually ordering online) it might be good. read more

I've ordered from here at least once per month for the last couple of years, and the delivery staff has always been on time and has never-not once-missed anything from my order, which is pretty exceptional given that I usually order about 5 bags worth of groceries. Five stars for excellent staff. I don't know what the company is doing to retain people with such excellent attention to detail, but it should continue. read more

Last night my order arrived in less than 20 minutes. Granted, it was late Sunday night and a small order to pack, but that is still surprising. I think the driver said his name was Martin (?) and he has a very pleasant personality, polite and the right amount of friendly. It was nice to deal with a driver who doesn't treat the customer as the enemy. He's exactly the type of person a business should want representing them. read more

Wow! What a clean store. It smells so good in here. I've had a couple of their sandwiches from the deli section and they are always good. My fave is the BLT. What I love best about this place is that they have cool haus ice cream sandwiches. I don't have to hunt down the truck or go to their brick and mortar stores. Score. The check out lady has always been friendly as well as everyone else I have to deal with. I used to use the one in WH when I lived over there now and I surely will be using this one. Looks pretty nice inside the brick and mortar store, but never use their online ordering system! I ordered around 25 items, just to give this place a shot. The website seemed to be well written, and organized. When you enter the online cart, it has an automatic inventory checker, which I thought was nice. Unfortunately, the inventory online is nowhere near what the store actually has. 10 minutes after placing my online order I received a phone call from an associate stating she had a few items that weren't available. The associate starts itemizing what wasn't in-stock, and by the time it got to the 10th item, I had them cancel my order. What a shame, could be a blazing success if they can get their inventory system working. read more

This review is about the brick-and-mortar store only. I got an overall good impression, and I'd like the place to stay open, thus the 5 stars. It's not a mind-blowingly great store, but it's the best store of its kind I can reasonably imagine in this neighborhood. It had everything I needed at the time, which wasn't much, but there you go. It worked in a pinch, and the prices were not unreasonable. The first thing you notice is it's very spacious, which is promising. They can fit more stuff in there down the line, hopefully soon. The produce is a little spartan and the selection is odd. Ginger was only available in an outlandish quantity, something like a pound in a closed container. Is it because it's only profitable in that quantity? Who is using this much ginger, Silverlake? I put it to you. The meat, not that I'm a meat fan, wasn't the hippie-dippie, free range organic type I expected. Typical grocery fridge meat. No butcher's counter. It seems like in that location, they would benefit from a mustachioed butcher who could tell you the name of the cow he was serving up. But I guess that's risky. Market forces and what not... The toiletry section didn't have Dr. Bronner's soap. For the most part, typical soaps and shampoos. Again, where's my hippie-dippie stuff? I want to add that having the url as a name is good marketing for the delivery service, but "Yummy?" That word is a thoughtcrime, and it took a lot of self-control for me to not leaflet the neighborhood and try to start a boycot. Terrible, terrible name. Good store though. read more

It's so so cold in there! I don't get it. It's overwhelmingly cold, i really don't enjoy going in there because of it. The staff is always on their phones, and god forbid I ask them any questions. Stepped inside the clean little grocer to grab some milk. Saved me a huge walk. I probably won't do all of my shopping here, since I get everything at the super cheap Super King, but I know this place will save me in a pinch. The moon shone like the burning end of one of my Pall Malls as the Yummy's automatic doors split - me Moses, them the dead sea. I cocked Margaret in my inside coat pocket - her lead sandwiches as close as I'd ever come to working in the service industry. I thought Margaret my one true sole mate... that is... until I saw here. She stood in the pasta aisle, analyzing the contents of a Prego bottle. The only facial feature unhidden by a patterned black veil were her violet lips. Look at those smackers. To kiss... to kiss those lips... to, in the heat of a moment, put my lips upon hers under a pale blue night with the Pacific as our only soundtrack. To watch those lips move forever... become old... to watch them sing. She had more curves than a Hot Wheels racetrack - and a few curves that I'm sure she invented herself. She saw me approach, her the coy spider, me the romantic fly. I feigned interest in a pack of apple chips. "Dangerous out," I said. "Not if you're sharp," she replied with a twinkle in her chocolate eyes. "Oh, I'm sharp," I countered. "And I cut like a dagger." "You're not the only one cutting with a dagger." So she knew about Farnswell's death. More bouillon in this mysterious soup. "L.A," I said as I regarded the world outside. "This town's twisted it gives me vertigo." I passed her my card. "EZ PZ, private eye." "Ooo," she purred. "Mama like." "And you are?" "Yes, I am." Possibly a Buddhist, I thought. "Your name, sweetheart?" I persisted. "Gretta Boyles. Perhaps you've heard of me." I had heard of her. She was photographed arm in arm with every A-lister in this joke-of-a-town at one time of another. I wondered if a camera was on me right then... "You know about Farnswell's death?" "Like I know the loneliness of the womb." "Where were you last Thursday?" "Wednesday." "Wednesday the club?" She sarcastically applauded. I stood there, a deer in this beauty's headlights. I had been booted from the force because, on more than one occasion, my heart clouded my head. But there was something about this woman - a dark angel in a sprawling hell. A woman with secrets that matched mine. I needed to have her. "You like those apple chips?" She asked. "More than I like your alibi," I said. Then paid for my apple chips and slid out into the temperate night, knowing that wouldn't the last time me and Gretta Boyles crossed paths. Good chips. Last Saturday, March 14 I wrote the review below. Now Yummy has now promised to have more cash on hand on Farmers Market days. I look forward to lifting my boycott and being able to enjoy their convenience again. Dear Yummy, You have just lost a regular customer, one who stops in anywhere from one to five times a week. The reason: not giving customers cash back on the days of the Silverlake farmers market. You may think it's a nuisance to be giving away cash so that people can get their produce elsewhere, but cash back is a standard service of grocery stores. You call yourself a "Neighborhood Market" but you are alienating yourself from the neighborhood. You are a CONVENIENCE store. It's your main selling point. Convenient for picking up grocery items you forget or run out of in between big shops. You conveniently deliver groceries to customer's front doors. And you are conveniently located right next to the farmers market. It can't be that much competition (it's only produce for crying out loud) and those who need cash back are still patronizing your store. Customers are giving you what they would have paid to use the ATM machine in the cafe next door. If you truly are a neighborhood store then it would be a better business practice to increase your cash reserve on farmers market days and embrace the extra business you get instead of antagonizing regular customers. Frankly it will be annoying and inconvenient to boycott you, but not offering cash back to your customers on the two weekly farmers market days has to change. read more

Good service, quick, everything was good. Calling Yummy saved us a lot of time at my friends. He works in editing for the History Channel. When spending time on music and film projects, often writing or brain storming it is nice to have good delivered. I went here today for my first time on a coupon that if I spent $10 I got a free loaf of bread. I have to write that I imagined it would be larger inside. It actually looked like a ghost town in there. It was about 6:00 O'clock pm on a Monday. I bought a dozen eggs, a TV dinner & some choc chip cookies. I have had the flu for about a week now and it's pretty much impossible for me to get out of the house. I googled "grocery delivery" and founds VONS.com and YUMMY.com. Vons guarantees same day delivery if you order by 8:30am - but might arrive at 5pm, or later. YUMMY.com had 30 minute delivery, and was free with an order over $100 (so easy to do). They have a decent organic selection, vegan ice cream and they delivered in 20 minutes!!!! Amazing!!!! The prices are very good - I found this because I am sick but I may never go to the grocery store again (joke) But seriously, this is so convenient. The only thing they might work on is the website - some items are missing pictures and there are no ingredients listed on the website. Otherwise, amazing. Thank you so much YUMMY.com!!!! read more

Yes they up their prices, but hey, they come to your door. This grocery chain is quite small, is lacking a myriad of options, and is overpriced. For better quality and prices and company consciousness, I prefer Trader Joe's, the same brands cost less, makes no sense to shop here unless you enjoy wasting money. read more
