While they don't get many dine-in customers based on what I've seen, that never gets in the way of my decision to keep coming back for more. My usual is the Poke Salmon with no corn; it hits the spot every time. Each component always tastes fresh and flavorful. I often order to-go and eat at home, so I wouldn't normally order a drink. However, during my last visit amidst the recent heat wave, I decided to give one a try. We were disappointed that when we came on Saturday that when we took our grilled chicken home, I noticed that my chicken was burnt. As you can see, all the chicken look like this which is unacceptable. Unfortunately we were hungry and we didn't want to go take another trip back to the restaurant so we just ate it. It was kind of chewy and dried out because it was overcooked and burnt. If you order any of the grill meats, please check it before you leave so that if it's burnt then you can ask them to make you a new dish before you go home. TLDR: Fresh, authentic, tasty food I came here at the recommendation of my friend, who touted it as good in the area for ramen. So, my sister, mom and I came here to eat and found the food so fresh. What we ordered: 1. Loco Moco (me): Delicious. The burger had a little lovely char on it and a tastier gravy that didn't feel like it was straight from the box. Notably, the menu says it comes with veggies, but it was rice, patty, egg, gravy and mac salad on my plate. I wasn't upset by this at all, but just a heads up. 2. Katsu chicken (sister): I got my sis to give me a bite, and we both agreed the chicken was very tender and moist. There was no sense that it had been frozen; it wasn't chewy or stiff at all. We really enjoyed it. 3. Seafood ramen (mom): Mom said this was pretty good. It wasn't her favorite ramen noodle or her favorite flavor. Usually she goes for black garlic ramen. Still, she said she would eat ramen here again. She might just go for her usual fav instead of this one, which was a staff recommendation. Some people just like what they like. All in all, I would definitely come here again. It for sure edges out Pinole's Ohana BBQ on flavor and freshness. Saw this place while we were driving to Sue's Kitchen to pick-up a to-go order. I quickly checked the reviews and bookmarked, so we came here for lunch this past Monday. We were the only ones here (which is a plus), but they just recently opened for the day. We were warmly greeted, seated and handed a menu. Ordered the following: - Poke Blend ($14 Salmon and Tuna on a bed of Whit Rice, Tobiko, Corn, Imitation Crab Meat, Cucumber, Edamame, Mixed Greens, Seaweed Salad and House Sauce) - BBQ Chicken Musubi ($6.49 two pieces) - Black Garlic Rame ($14.49 Roasted Pork, Fried Garlic, Kikueage, Boole Egg, Bamboo Shoots, Green Onion, Sprouts and Corn) - Tonkotsu Ramen ($13.49 Roasted Pork, Boiled Egg, Kikurage, Mushroom, Bamboo Shoots, Green Onion, Fish Cake and Sprouts) Pros: Both ramen were good with rich, bold, delicious broths that weren't too salty. The boiled eggs were perfectly cooked, and the rest of the ingredients provided a nice, even balance to the dish. I changed my order from regular Spam Musubi to their BBQ Chicken and glad I did. This one surprised me in a good way as the chicken was super tender and had a nice layer of fatty meat. I actually thought it was faux chicken at first, but it was nicely grilled. A little bit too much rice, though. But you can easily remove some of the rice to your preference so that you can have a better ratio of meat to rice in every bite. Cons: The Poke Blend was disappointing, but I shouldn't be surprised since I didn't heed my own advice. There were mostly Tuna than Salmon, and it was actually hard to find the Salmon. Also, the ratio of fish was disproportionately less compared to the whole dish. The "Crab" was not listed on their menu as imitation, but it was clearly imitation that lacks the proper nutrition. Also forgot my order of Green Tea, which I had to remind them. But overall, we enjoyed our meal. Even with the lapse in service, he was genuinely nice, friendly and engaging. Wow, what a nice addition to the neighborhood! I have driven by and noticed this new place in the small strip mall across from the El Sobrante post office. I was very impressed with the menu and food. What drew me here initially was the fact that they have lumpia and I've been looking for a place close by that has decent lumpia. I was attracted to all the other things on the menu and decided to order a chicken Ramen, chicken Katsu curry, and lumpia to take home. I was very impressed by everything. The lumpia and chicken Katsu are deep-fried but were not greasy at all! They both had that nice deep fried crunch but tender and juicy on the inside. I was most impressed with the chicken Ramen. The Ramen noodles were of very good quality and the toppings hit the spot for my cravings for lots of vegetables. The Ramen bowl had a bit of Ramen noodles at the bottom, was topped with Chinese wood ear, delicious bamboo shoots that tasted home marinated rather than canned, bean sprouts, corn, and delicious marinated chicken slices that tasted like teriyaki. And the broth was out of this world! The broth was so rich and flavorful you can tell that it is homemade broth. I'm wanting more of their broth, it's so delicious! The service was excellent too. Yelp! pointed us here for some local food and poke bowls. In a little strip mall, plenty of parking in the shared lot. Familliar as it's in a spot where a great noodle shop used to be. Da Grub: Carla did the Salmon poke bowl with lots of goodies like seaweed, edamame, corn along with salmon, crab, a bit of tobiko over rice topped with a creamy savory sauce. I went with the Katsu and Kal Bi plate of 2 beef slabs with 2+ crispy breaded chicken thighs, served over grilled cabbage, mac salad and of course 2 scoops of rice. Just like a bite of home, if I close my eyes, I could be eating this same plate lunch at Ala Moana Beach Park. Generous portions all around, great value. Da Service: We slid right in at 12:15, but the tables filled up as we had our meal. Hawaiian Sun guava and hot tea came quick, followed by our plates in short order; their cook/s are on top of it. What a pleasant surprise to find this place! My friend was craving ramen, but I don't like Lilikoi in Pinole. So, thanks to everyone else who shared their experiences because you helped us make the decision to give this place a try! Everything is made to order. They have ramen, boba, and Hawaiian food! I liked how they cooked their spam a little more than other places and it had a nice crunch. So, I cannot wait to try their Hawaiian food because I bet it's pretty good! Their ramen was good considering there's not many ramen joints in this small town. If I needed a ramen fix and didn't want to drive to Oakland or SF, this will suffice. I also loved how the pork chashu had crispy edges and color. Other places serve it still a little sort and raw looking. I grabbed some food to go with my little cousin because she love Ramen. She got the Tonkotsu Ramen and I got the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken mini meal. The service was pretty quick and the staff was nice. The food, however, was lacking flavor. My chicken definitely tasted like it was marinated but I needed some extra sauce basted during the cooking process to enhance the flavor. The macaroni salad was bland as well. My cousin also reported her Ramen dish lacked flavor. Unfortunately we will not return here. read more

This is the right place in the right location at the right time. This place is amazing! I know it's a great local spot and much respect for that. We're just visitors in your neighborhood. For my family and I this is a perfect spot to stop when we're on the road. It's off the beaten path, but it's worth the detour. We don't do fast food for a variety of reasons. We'd rather take the time to get off the road, eat healthier food and support restaurants that are part of the local community. There's something for everyone on the menu, that's important for me, I want my road trippers to eat when we stop, not ask for snakes soon after. The ramen, the poke and spam musubi are all good. This was a great find. The food was very tasty and didn't have that greasiness that often accompanies fried foods. The amount of chicken katsu was a good-sized portion. Depending on how big of an eater you are, there could be enough for another meal. The short ribs were fairly tender given that this cut is fairly tough. I didn't have the poke tuna bowl but someone in our group did and said it was good. Maybe not the best ever poke bowl eaten but good. The BBQ chicken could have been marinated a little longer. The mac salad was flavorful too, and the a la carte order of the mac salad is plentiful. We ordered take-out so can't speak to the service there, but our order was ready within the time frame promised. The menu selection is huge so I'm looking forward to trying something else. read more
