    Salmon Sashimi App

Was craving Japanese today so we decided to try Yo Sushi for lunch. I ordered salmon belly sashimi for appetizer and the chirashi don bowl for my lunch entree. Wife order the 2 item lunch of tonkatsu and gyoza. Both lunch specials came with salad and miso soup. Everything was delicious and fresh! My salmon belly sashimi melted in my mouth and the chirashi bowl had so many slices of assorted tender and buttery slices of fish along with yummy tobiko over flavorful sushi rice. Both my wife and I were full and satisfied. Would definitely recommend this spot for some amazing Japanese food! The servers and staff were all very nice as well!

This place always hits the spot !!! I usually get the 3 dish lunch special which is more than enough & a good value !! It went up to $19.95 & the 2 dish went up to $16.95 ! My dining partner got the unagi ‍ over rice Service is always quick, efficient & attentive & always refilling hot tea !! Sounds elevated when busier but never too loud !!

Craving sushi and this was the first recommended place by Yelp. But, my wife was a bit hesitant due to the number of reviews. After looking into the reviews, they were all great and positive. We curated our food items to order, called over the phone, the host that helped us said it would be 40 minutes. We picked up the food and were surprised with the quality. The restaurant looked like your typical Japanese spot; updated and clean. The reviews lived up to expectations! Rolls were a great size, fish was fresh, generous portions throughout. Will be our go to spot moving forward when we don't wanna drive 20+ minutes for sushi!

Wow--the food was amazing! Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The assorted sashimi, nigiri, and rolls were all delicious. The atmosphere was so relaxing, and I found myself getting lost in the video of traveling through the streets of Japan playing on the screen. I came in alone, and it turned into such a peaceful experience--exactly what I needed today. Plus, the service was great.

Lunch 3 Items: sashimi, mackerel, and tonkatsu

Good food, clean restaurant, and amazing service! I got a lunch combo with 3 items and liked everything. My tonkatsu was crispy and tender on the inside. The fish sashimi was very fresh. And my mackerel fish was cooked well, lightly seasoned just the way I like it. How are they possibly offering these lunch specials at these prices!!! Amazing value! I came with a group of friends and everyone liked their food. One friend thought the teriyaki chicken was overdone but I didn't try it myself so can't judge. I bet my kids will want teriyaki chicken so I'll definitely order next time to try for myself. I will be coming here more often. And I will bring my friends and family! Parking in that lot can be hectic on a busy weekend or Friday. But there's usually plenty of street parking in Pinole downtown.

I have been to the Yo Sushi in Albany, but this was my first time at the Pinole restaurant. My son ordered takeout and I went to pick it up. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming with Christmas lights and decorations. The service was very warm and welcoming. They even served me tea while I waited for my order. They were busy with orders for takeout and a few tables were occupied. Our takeout order of sushi came in a to go platter which was very nice. We got a large assortment of sushi and they were all tasty. I will have to try some of the other items on the menu. I would say Yo Sushi is a place to order takeout and having a casual Japanese dinner. I forgot to mention that there isn't a bar for sushi.

Wanted sushi that was close to home. Found it !! Restaurant had one other patron and a couple were placing orders to go Service was quick and easy. The menu is pretty extensive with reasonable prices and items for everyone. We ordered the golden gate, San Pablo Ave, spicy tuna and awesome rolls. All were delicious. The addition of red onion seemed to cut the richness of the rolls, while also adding a nice flavor and crunch. I had the seaweed salad, not as sweet as I'm used to but it was good. They offer you hot tea and water while you wait. Nice restaurant in what has always been a hot dog spot. Very nicely done with jazz playing and closed caption tv with sushi restaurants on.

Nov 7 2025 1pm We finally stopped in for a sit down meal. The wait staff are sweet and the food presentation was awesome. I posted a couple of eye popper videos. Considering the times I feel like you get a good bang for your buck here. I'm looking forward to them getting their alcoholic beverage license. The only negative for me is the volume of the music they play. It may be turned up to mask the street noise but better to have more low volume speakers spread around than what seemed to be one loud one. Makes it hard to hold a conversation.

I placed an order online for a quick dinner pick-up. The place was very busy on a Friday, so it was a good call-- the roll was yummy & I would definitely get it again! One of my favorite go-to places for a take out dinner. The restaurant is small so I wouldn't really want to eat there, def would recommend for more of a takeout spot!

Updating last review to add a star back. Phone orders ensures my order is right and the estimated time of pick up is more accurate. Food is still delicious and packed well (props to the waitress/cashiers for packing my order as requested)!!

Excited about my Shooting Star roll
    Donna T.

Stopped in for an early dinner shortly after opening and was seated immediately. Cute vibrant little space to grab Japanese and sushi. Our damage: *Shooting Star Spicy roll: my favorite of all of them! Flavorful with great textures from the crispy shrimp and buttery fish. *Ichiban roll: love Hamachi and this one had fresh flavors with the avocado since it isn't covered in sauce. *Deluxe Crispy: tasty and I appreciated the fresh toppings of radish and crab to counter the crispy components Really generous portion sizes and great value with the affordable prices. Would try a location closer to me since there's a few stores (though this might be the only sit down location) Solid!

Kitchen Combination- Saba Shioyaki, Spicy Roll, Sashimi (5pcs)

I when in at the right time 5:30pm & the FIFA game is on too. There was a lot of call orders But my order only took 15-20 minutes. Best time to be seated it was great timing. But I took my order home to watch the soccer games. We tried the Kitchen Combination- Saba Shioyaki, Spicy Tuna Roll & Sashimi (5pcs) 1-Ungai Don 1-Deluxe Crispy Roll, 1-UNI Mmm The girls that helped me did a great job! Everything was so delicious & fresh I love the presentation it's a work of art. I recommend everyone that likes & love wrk of art & great food to try this place! Enjoy 6-27-26

Yay another sushi spot in my hood! Although it's a chain, I was pretty impressed with the Yo Sushi that opened up in Pinole. I've been to the Vallejo one when I was younger and though it seemed like "takeout sushi" it was my quick fix for my sushi craving. Location is in a small plaza on San Pablo Ave in downtown Pinole. Small cute modern resto with very nice staff and very tasty rolls! The menu was pretty extensive - appetizers, sushi, bento boxes, udon/ramen. Hope they add green tea ice cream in the future. I ordered 2 rolls- they were delicious and aesthetically appealing. Their sushi chefs are Highly recommend the following: -Starry Night - shrimp tempura, crab, avocado, salmon and lemon slices -Ichiban- yellowtail, unagi, avocado, cucumber Prices were decent (cheaper and bigger than the rolls at the Happy Ramen and Sushi spot down the street) and the service was prompt. The owners/staff were working hard and hope this place sticks around. I want to try the more rolls, soups and bento boxes!

Miso Soup & salad (salad was very fresh. Great dressing!)

First time here! My…read moredaughter sent me the menu because she came here on Saturday night. I came Sunday afternoon. Pros: place is nice We were seated quick. Not too many people after 3:40 pm. When we sat down they came over about 3-4x in a row asking if we are ready to order. Explained it was the first time. Our waitress explained everything is Ayce except the drinks. Sushi tasted good. I don't remember everything we ordered but no complaints with the food. Service was kind of slow took a while to get food and we had 3 people. One waitress didn't seem too friendly she looked younger. Couple of times we tried to flag her and she just had RBF and walked past us. They didn't check on us much which was fine we were busy talking. Our waitress seemed nice. My daughter said she enjoyed her food on Saturday that's why we came today. Price is good for the sushi and the items you can get. We were there for a while and did not feel rushed which was nice. We will definitely come back Cons: waitress with ponytail (younger) maybe work on customer service. They did forget one of the miso soups we had to ask again for it Bathroom needs more work. Other than that everything was great! You're not rushed out. Maybe because there was not that many people at first but when we were leaving it started to get busy.

So let's start with the service, it was fast, friendly and accurate. I say accurate because after reading some of the reviews mentioning lack of English, I was skeptical. Anyway, there was always staff walking around to take our orders and picking up the empty ones. They probably had asked us 3-5 times "can we get you anything else?' The sashimi was fresh and good quality. The rice to fish ratio on the nigiri's and rolls were amazing, especially on the rolls but they are all full rolls (8 pieces). The scallop and Ame Ebi (sweet shrimp) were my personal favorites. Our party of 6 had 30 pieces of the sweet shrimp and 36 of the scallops alone. Everything else was good also. One to avoid would be the skewers unless you're there to have Panda Express. Beef and veggie on a stick covered with sweet and sour sauce. If you are coming for your birthday, then is free with party of 4 or more. The day before, day of or the day after. Overall, we were very satisfied and will recommend this spot to all sushi lovers.

So, you can imagine we were pretty famished. This is what we got: * Curry Udon $15.99 - This smelled amazing. It was a pretty good size order and we had to take most of it to go. It heated up well a couple of days later. * Chicken Karage $10.99 - This is a pretty generous portion for it being an appetizer. So, there's definitely plenty to share. * Kalua Pork and Lau Lau $15.99 - Again with the generous portions! * Kalbi Short Ribs $16.99 - Great tasting short ribs that were not burned! I ate it all up! * Salmon Poke Bowl $15.99 - This was all gone! * Lau Lau $15.99 - Our portion had two lau laus in the order and it was a good amount of food. * Gyoza $5.50 - Decent. * Black Garlic Ramen $14.99 - It was all gone. The lone girl working the front was very efficient, especially with keeping our water glasses full. (After the meal, the Little Guy commented that he remembers drinking water but never seeing it refilled but it was always full. And we had to tell him that's a sign of great service!) Overall, we were very satisfied with the food, the amount, and the pricing. Service was great too! (I left my glasses on the table and thank goodness the waitress came out and stopped us in the car.) The only real negative is that there are no restrooms for customers. I didn't even realize full service restaurants could do that. As others have mentioned, we hit up the Home Depot too.

The happy hour menu is limited, but it features a fair selection of rolls. I personally only had the Crunch Roll, which was about $3 off on happy hour Miso Soup: The soup was nothing special. The rolls itself were delicious and plentiful and the happy hour pricing was a plus for me. Dinner Bento: The salad was good, and I really liked the dressing. The veggie tempura were fried correctly and the tempura sauce was alright. The rice was pretty sticky for my taste. My disappointment was in the teriyaki chicken. The pieces themselves were fine, but it was the sauce that was getting to me. It just felt off and didnt really taste like teriyaki sauce to me. Overall, not a bad experience.
