Amazing dim sum in an unassuming location. The shu mai which is the quintessential dim sum dish is satisfying and well done. The crispy dumpling with pork and shrimp was a delightful surprise. The service was attentive but not overbearing as they quickly took away used plates. I wouldn't recommend the soup dumpling as the dough was too thick or the egg tarts as they had partially scrambled but everything else was perfect. The lotus covered rice was so aromatic and refreshing. Only boundary to eating more was room in my stomach and money in my wallet. For an authentic dim sum experience go here and enjoy! read more

I would say that this place can be a hit or miss. Their dim sum is decent, much better than Panda King for sure. Like every place there are some items that shine and there will also be a few duds. Authentic Chinese Cuisine! I love the a la carte style (but they also have whole entrees). You get to try a lot of foods, with small servings but also entrees are able to feed about four people. It's a great place to go from the airport or to the airport with a group of people. Food is very flavorful, tasty, and quick. The taro dumpling was surprisingly not overwhelmingly sweet but more on the salty side. The tripe sauce was super flavorful and my favorite. Shumai, soup, and these noodles were good. I especially love the chinese broccoli and their Hot jasmine tea to help with digestion! They just opened about 8 months ago so they're fairly new. Honestly was very skeptical but wanted to try it out. 1st thing is the pricing is reasonable. I know some other places serving this for more $$. Soup dumplings - 4 - for 9 dollars. Honestly good sized. Flavor was good. It did have a good amount of "soup". All of the food was really good. Portion wise, every dish was satisfying for two hungry people. The flat noodle with beef was legit! We had enough snow pea leaf and flat noodle to take home. My only mild disappointment was the salt n pepper pork chops were small pieces but each bite was mostly bone and not meat lol. The biggest highlight for me was the complimentary chili oil on the table. That stuff is gooood and spicy! Overall, I'd prob go back and try more stuff! This is an great new addition to oriental food in the New Orleans area. We went two times and they were very busy each time. This restaurant is heavy on Dim Sum with over thirty selections plus a specials chalkboard. Tried four of the dim sum selections... three were outstanding, the mixed meat dumplings, the shrimp in bacon, and the beef short ribs. The pork spare ribs had good flavor, but were very fatty and had little meat. On the traditional side, the beef with broccoli was pretty good. Sauce was great, not sweet, but a nice savory flavor. I ate at Yummy House when it first opened. I wasn't impressed. Recently I was told it was under new ownership and that the dim sum was authentic. Since I am a dim sum junkie I decided to try it again. The food was excellent. By far the best dim sum in the city and even better than any place I've had it in Houston's Chinatown. I'm no stranger to good dim sum. I lived outside of New York City and spent a lot of time in Flushing's Chinatown. I also lived in Las Vegas where there is a large Chinatown also. I still feel that Flushing has the best Chinese food in United States but the Yummy House, when it comes to their dim sum is very very close. Unfortunately they don't push the carts around, but they have a dim sum menu to look at that has photos that match the food. Be careful ordering to go by phone using the numbers on some of the photographs off the menus on yelp. Some of those photographs are from their old menu so the numbers don't match the food on the new ones. Just order them by name. read more

Overall..... Yummy House wasn't bad! I came for lunch. My waitress' service/attitude was subpar however wasn't bad enough for me not to come back! I ordered the fried flat rice noodles with beef & Chinese broccoli, grilled pineapple buns, fried dumplings and shrimp with salt and pepper. My favorite was the dumplings. Also the fried flat noodles were good, however this was my first time eating Chinese broccoli so it has a strong and bitter taste but wasn't bad at at. Came here after they reopened under new ownership. We came around 11am on a Sunday. They were busy but there was only 1 cart being pushed. The dining room was very very crowded. Our server asked if we wanted to do push cart when we tried to order with her. We asked if there would be more carts, she did not understand us, so we asked her to put in our order. As it got busier, we saw her continually bring our food to the wrong table. I only saw 2 tables get decent service and I would assume it was because they knew the older Asian male server. He brought out their food minutes within them being seated, food we ordered and still hadn't received. After waiting 20 minutes for only 2 dishes of the 8-10 we ordered, my boyfriend went to counter and asked for our check. The server than came and apologized. Honestly would avoid this place. We went to dinner tonight as a family and we placed our usual order and when the food came out . We realized that we didn't order an item and told them that we ordered something else and was still waiting for that item. Well, the waitress came back with the sheet and showed us the paper that we had marked down. The item that they gave us that wasn't our order was 1 item below what we had ordered. We then REALIZED that the wrong item that was put at our table was marked but the ink was totally darker and the number 2 was not in the same handwriting as ours and it wasn't circle like our other items that we ordered. In my opinion if they put in the wrong item due to THEIR MISTAKE they SHOULD NOT LIE & CHEAT and write it in THEMSELVES. This is just wrong on so many levels!! We wanted to try something new. We went here two weeks ago on a Sunday. Set up was not ideal for push cart, kept on hitting customers' chairs. Either they need to make it order off the menu only or take away a few tables and do push cart. But it was so unorganized and overpriced, if you selected off the push cart it was considered a "small" item but if you ordered off the menu it's a "large" item (mind that it's the exact same amount of dumplings). All in all there were some pros, shumai had a lot of flavor and quite meaty; chicken feet was big and has the perfect bite. They just need to work on either they want to be push cart or not. This place is very unconventional when it comes to some of the pricing for typical Chinese dishes. Case in point : I ordered the kung pao chicken and when I got it they are using cut up small pieces of dark meat with no option for white meat which it usually comes with at other like places. Hey y'all so I visited a new restaurant that's right off the interstate in Kenner Louisiana I seen they had finally opened so I wanted to give them a try there was available parking in the parking lot there is also a pickup spot designated just so if you place your order over the phone you can run in get your order and leave quickly once I walked in I was greeted by the hopes and that person was able to help me place my order. What I ordered was shrimp and broccoli with extra shrimp and two egg rolls. What I did not know was he charged me for a plate which comes with what I ordered plus shrimp fried rice and an egg roll. I didn't want to give back the other two egg rolls so I figured I would give it to someone to eat people are always hungry. It all came up to about 22 bucks which was a decent price for all of that. The steamed broccoli and shrimp as you can tell in my picture is beautiful shrimp fried rice had a decent amount of shrimp but I asked for extra shrimp in my shrimp and broccoli and did not receive it. Next time I will check my plate before I go and yes there will be a next time just like every other restaurant this place has only been open a month so you're going to get a couple of hiccups I also wish that the food had a little bit more flavor shrimp fried rice has has shrimp rice regular onion eggs green onion and some people even put peas which I cannot stand but there's shrimp fried rice did not have much of anything in it I asked for my broccoli and shrimp to be spicy and of course that did not happen but yet I will definitely be back I will just take my time ordering to make sure the host can hear my order completely and I will check my plate before I leave so all in all I will give this business a four out of five stars definitely check it out for yourself read more

I ate there yesterday evening, and I was completely underwhelmed by I had the crab and fish soup (21.99 with no crab and idk what kind of rubber mess of a fish that was) and a small shrimp fried rice and paid a total of 34.00 for this experience. The prices are outrageous to say the food was subpar at best. The waitress that took my order was not the nicest I asked for sweet and sour sauce she said it was in the bag and of course literally the only thing in the bag was my soup and shrimp fried rice not even one napkin. The restaurants ambiance was okay for a restaurant that serves lunch specials all day but not for a four star dining experience. My advice; save your money and go to another Chinese restaurant it'll save you money and time having to write a bad review. read more
