I'm sorry this isn't my typical review most of the time I find myself in some of the worst restaurants around but my wife and I were in Irwin looking for something to eat. There's a McDonald's there. There's a Denny's right next to the same parking lot and when we pulled into what I was hoping would be a Chinese place and it says Asian cuisine, but right underneath the sign of Anytime fitness in a little strip in a back corner of a parking lot so I wasn't holding out any expectations of something that I could be reviewing for the first time as a five star. Not only was the place fabulous but they give you warm towels to wipe your hands off and prep yourself for the meal. I give you a typical fried noodles with some dipping sauce and that's always a treat when you come to a place that's you know that you're hungry placing an order I always get general TSO and my wife always gets either bird nest or fried something or other, and we both placed our orders food came out very quickly on better China we sat and looked at the plates. Two bowls of rice came with it one for her dinner one for mine and there's a cute little silk flower tucked into the food that we were about to eat really made the presentation that much better so I ordered the all white meat. I was not disappointed the sauce flavor. It was just wonderful just enough spice to say that it's spicy and the meat pieces were just fabulous cooked a perfect perfection. It was in certainly deep fried, but always looking for something that you know not too dry. Or not chewy. These pieces were just fabulous so I swapped out some of the my chicken for my wife's beef and broccoli and we both enjoyed a little bit of each and what a fabulous time we sat and were able to chitchat for an hour or so and just a calming affect that the restaurant itself. read more

Two meals had WAY TOO MUCH sauce. I ordered food, not sauce. All food except the pu pu platter were way too salty. Chicken lo mein had a good amount of chicken. Fried dumpling were half the size of competition for similar price. Peanut flavor in the dumpling sauce was disgusting. The dumplings were in a bed of brown, rotting lettuce. You could smell the rot. The dumplings touched the rotten lettuce. They had to be rinsed off before eating. Dumplings are intended to be served on a bed of shredded cabbage. Pu pu platter was not fried long enough. Things should have been crispy. The platter was very light in color, soggy, and required us to bake the food until crispy. That defies the whole reason this food was ordered. This was my first order at this restaurant and it most likely is my last. read more

The place is great. Since CoViD they only do take-out, sadly. Even before, dine in was a nice experience We get take out here as often as we can. Door dash, ubereats etc available. I use the app "Beyond menu" to preorder and then just go and pick it up. The food is delicious! They have lunch menu options (it's basically a litte less food for a little less money) great variety The staff is always super friendly, sometimes "throw" freebies at you, like a new calendar. I was on vacation in Pennsylvania and I'm feeling a little lazy, so I DoorDash dinner. We decided on Chinese and went with yummy palace. I wasn't disappointed. Although my eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ordered way more than we needed. It was really good. I gave the rest to the staff at the hotel to put in the break room and I'm really hoping they ate it. I hate to see good food go to waste, bad food I'm ok with. . I had general chows chicken, egg roll, spring roll, fried dumplings, chicken lo mein, and a chicken and garlic sauce with white rice. Everything was good, nothing stuck out as amazing like "Oh my God this is the best I've ever had" but it was good and I would order it again if I was in the area. Go check em' out. read more

Picked up an order for my elderly dad, who loves shrimp. He wanted general so's shrimp and fried rice. (I accidentally ordered shrimp fried rice instead of the regular fried rice) I have to say, in both of the dishes, the shrimp were very big. Which is not common in most Chinese restaurants. He really enjoyed both entrees. Which of course makes me happy. Also I should add, the order was filled within 15 minutes and was piping hot. I'm not a big fan of Chinese food because it's not easy finding a good place. But, I will keep this establishment on my radar and will be returning for sure. read more

My chosen dish was not so yummy. This was my second visit here, but I am not so sure there will be another. If I were to base my rating on menu selections, atmosphere, and portion size, it would be 4 stars. The two stars are due to the quality and taste of my particular order. Personally, raw carrots and celery in an entree do not appeal to me when the other ingredients are cooked . The brown sauce was loaded with sodium or MSG. Couldn't wait to get rid of the side effects associated with a salty meal. I noticed some other options on the menu that might have been more appealing and tasteful. This place is tucked in the back corner of this plaza in Irwin. Me and an associate were craving sushi, and we landed on this gem. First of all, the place is clean, and staff is super friendly. Second, the sushi is fresh. I got the yellowtail jalapeño appetizer and it literally melted in my mouth and the flavor was phenomenal! We ordered crab Rangoon and they were piping hot and delicious. We got a few assorted rolls. Presentation was nice. They were a nice size. Mario also got beef and broccoli and he smashed it, so I'm assuming it was tasty as well Overall, this is a pretty great place. They usually have everything ready for pickup within 10-15 minutes of calling, depending on the night. I will admit that when I first came here, I hated it. I got the chicken lo mein and thought it tasted like a barn smells. Not sure what was wrong or why it was tasting like that. I tasted my friend's general tso's with white meat and that was good, so thought it was just my dish, but still left disappointed. Next time I came, I got sushi. MUCH better! It was actually one of the better places I've ever has sushi from. I got the shrimp tempura and it was delicious. I also got an eggroll which was cooked perfectly. Extremely crispy on the outside, which is exactly how I like them! My friend got the lunch special which was soup, salad, and two choices of rolls for $9.95, which wasn't a bad deal at all. No stars. General tsos chicken had a very heavy mushy batter, couldn't find much chicken in it. The sauce was thick and unpleasantly sweet, tasted like ketchup is in it. Beef lo mein had over cooked noodles, and rubbery beef. Flavor not great, too salty. The spring roll was crispy but hardly different than the regular egg roll which was also crispy. I think both were just vegetable but the menu doesn't specify. We only ate like 20% of our food and threw the rest away. 100% will never order here again. First time here in 4+ years and the food hasn't lost a single bit in quality, freshness or flavor! Wife had Mongolian beef with hot and sour soup and she thinks the hot and sour soup is the best of all the local places we frequent. I had moo shu pork and unagi and tako sushi. The moo shu was great and the sushi was fresh, prepared well and excellent in flavor Service was just right even though the restaurant was almost completely full. I stopped here for takeout on the way home from work. I got the Penang Curry tofu, and avocado rolls. Husband got kung pao chicken, egg roll and dumplings. We were pleasantly surprised by the flavor of everything. The restaurant was busy and the owner or manager apologized very much for the wait. Very quaint restraint. Every time we come in, we're always greeted with smiles. After seating they quickly bring out hot towels and then take your order. Never had an issue with ordering. Food always came out as requested. The food is great whether you're ordering sushi or an entree. I grew up on good fish and considering the location the fish used for the sushi is pretty good. Never had a bad piece. Service is great. Everyone is pretty good at keeping up with drink refills or if you have other requests. I visited Yummy Palace for a weekend lunch. The newly opened Yummy Palace is located in the Irwin Shopping Plaza, and offers Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food. The inside of the restaurant was dimly lit, but appeared to be clean. Out of the 25 or so tables, only 4 were taken (which is not out of the ordinary on an 80+ degree weekend in Pa). I placed a take out order that included lunch special L22-sesame chicken, for $5.95, which came with an egg roll and rice (steamed, fried, or brown). You can order soup (Egg Drop, Miso, Won Ton, or Hot & Sour), or a house salad, in place of an egg roll. I also ordered the chicken teriyaki, which is not an option on the lunch menu, for $10.50. The server informed me that my request for fried rice would be an additional $1.00. The order was ready within the 15 minute wait time that I was quoted, and it stayed warm during the ride home. The lunch portions are prepared with the meat and the rice in the same plastic container. The sesame chicken looked exactly as I expected... small chunks of chicken, covered in dark sauce, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. However, the taste could be compared to that of something you could order at a mall food court. The egg roll was light and crispy...unfortunately, this was the best part of my meal. The chicken teriyaki was in a plastic container by itself, and the fried rice was in its own paper package. The chicken was cut into perfect one inch strips resembling something that comes from a pre-cooked Tyson chicken meal. It was coated in a light brown/orange sauce, and contained two pieces of broccoli. The chicken was mushy, as if it were heated in a microwave. It also lacked any flavor (no hint of ginger, soy, or salt), even though it was swimming in sauce. The fried rice was acceptable, but was not worth $11.50 because it was the only part of the meal my boyfriend would eat. Prior to trying this new restaurant, I searched for online feedback but only found two, one line reviews. I am posting this review as a warning for those who are considering Yummy Palace since there are not many Chinese food options in the area. I do not plan to return to Yummy Palace, and will drive the extra twenty minutes to go to China King in Greensburg. read more
